TimeSaver Handyman

Larry the owner came out and did a bid for $1,123 to rebuild porch with vinyl railing, fix dry rot and drywall damage and replace window sill.  I had to leave town and with work it was about another month before we could get started on the job.  He had to put me off 2 weeks because the first week I think he forgot and the second time it had rained so much he was behind on the other jobs.  Once the job started you really never knew if his crew was going to show up or not and Larry was not very good at communicating with us where they were.  We ended up changing the plans on the railing posts for more support and ended up going with longer posts to support it.  An additional 3 posts were needed I had him purchase the materials and stupid me didn't think to ask how many more hours would be needed.  When the job was completed I received a bill for $2,766 double what the original bid had been. He said it was because of the extra hours they had to put in which was a bunch of bs because they were only there about 4 days total.  He didn't even replace the window sill which was on the original bid.  I told him the bill was ridiculous so he grudgingly took off $383.  Needless to say I will never hire this guy again.  Oh and by the way if you do hire timesaver handyman his crew will steal all the extra materials and lie about leaving them somewhere.  I had told Larry I wanted to keep my metal railing from the porch remodel so I could sell it with some other metal I had.  I came home one day and one of his crew members took it.  While the quality of work was good this guy never communicated and the extra costs that he threw in are a couple of reasons I will never hire timesaver handyman again.  Which is too bad for him because I have about 10k more left of work that needs to be done on the house.
