PORTER PLUMBING

No good at all it got done but he rerouted the water pipes and made a huge mess. Didnt come professionally dressed. Is over priced for what he did. When he was going down in our basement he disconnected our power to our bedroom. Didnt know when he was done he never got with us. The guy digging the whole for the water pipes was there the whole time he kept leaving. Was super late when he was supposed to be there at 8am. Was only there for an hour and took it upon himself to take a lunch break. Never took us around to explain everything he did after he did it. When he came over to take a look he didnt listen to my husband he just said we need to do this and that was it. We needed it to be done asap but we were without water for 6days. He didnt even have appointments he just kept making excuses and saying i cant come til Wednesday. He left trash didnt clean up his mess didnt put gravel back down on the driveway and didnt put grass back down where it was after digging. Didn't clean up our sidewalk either

Excellent. Phil was very responsive in coming by and assessing the job. He called when he was delayed to keep us informed. He cleaned up after the work very nicely. We got the bid and the job completed within 2 days of initiating the call for the bid.

He showed up when he said he would and was very pleasant. He he finished the work when he said he would. It looked good when he was done.

My experience with them has been good. I've used them several times. I've used him for one big job, for a remodeling and then, I've used them several times for a couple of water heaters and they installed a faucet one time. His punctuality and responsiveness has all been good. Sometimes it takes him a half a day to get back to me, but nothing I've had was an emergency, so I wasn't in any rush. He knows what he's talking about. If there's been a problem, he always been able to address any concerns I might have. He's here when he says he's going to be here.

I've used him three times over the last couple of years and have been pleased with his work and his price.

I called Mr Porter this morning and he said he could come out this afternoon. He came out and priced our job and got straight to work!
However I did not expect on the job to be done quite that fast- but I was quite happy when he said he could do it right then! Very pleased with his work !

Overall I felt confident with the work, price, and the man.

I noticed the Saturday before Christmas 2012 that the water heater was slowly leaking water in my basement. Phil came by to confirm the leak, suggest a way to direct the water to a drain across the room, and got information for replacement. We both agreed that the leak was slow enough and the heater was still working so it didn't need to be done before Christmas. Then he worked with me while I was dealing with a complicated family issue during the rest of the week. He ended up doing the replacement on New Year's Eve day.
His work was thorough and he left my basement cleaner than it was when he arrived. I would absolutely call Phil again.

Always called to let me know he was on his way. Was fast and efficient and made sure we stayed within my budget. I will call him again.

I got the re-plumbing done because my meter was leaking and the gas company came and told me that it was not correct. Phillip came out and re-did everything. I was happy with his work. I had no problem at all and would hire him again. He responded immediately and was very punctual. I think I would have to call the gas company again to do an inspection to ensure that he has done the plumbing correctly.

Overall, the experience was very good. Phil was punctual when he came by the house to develop an estimate and again when he returned to do the actual work. His estimate was clear and professional, submitted to me (at my request) via email. The estimate was sent as an Adobe PDF file, which I think is a nice touch. He performed the contracted work in about three hours and made use of an assistant/apprentice to do set up tasks while Phil concentrated on the main work. The work was completed without incident and all the fixtures and supply line worked correctly the first time. No issues in the year since the work was completed. I feel that the quality of the work and service was a good value for the money charged. The only qualification I would offer is that Porter Plumbing is a small, independent operation (Phil IS Porter Plumbing) without a truck with a logo on it. This is the reason for the 'B' rating on professionalism. While I had absolutely no issues with any aspect of the job, I might think twice about sending a really big and/or complex job to Porter Plumbing. My job went great, though!

They were very frank and up front. They gave us a price right away and the time it would take to do the job. We appreciated that very much. They were both reliable and prompt. After doing a great job with the project they cleaned up after themselves.

Everything went well. When he came out for the estimate he recommended that I wait to have him do the work based on the other work I was having done and suggested a sequence. To me this was a positive because others had just told me what it cost, not that I possible needed to consider other options in order to get the best results. Everything went out and in very smoothly(out in under 2 hours and in under 5). For the kitchen he was done in under 3 hours. A plus, he picked up after himself which many service folks don't do.

His prices are always very reasonable. Some of the work he has done requires some fairly high-level thinking, so he thinks things through before starting a project. So every job always ends up getting done exactly how I plan for it to be done.
