Description of Work: We had a mixed-up situation with our complicated TV reception and sound system. Someone needed to straighten it out. An essential problem was that the universal remote needed to be re-programmed as I now understand it. Some equipment had bee damaged by . . . Umm --- our cats! The Overland TV service provider was friendly, prompt, efficient, polite, reasonably priced and very very competent.

Description of Work: Took in my big screen TV because it would not turn on. They could not find anything wrong, but kept it for a couple of days to see if they could find the problem. They rewired something on one of the panels, cleaned the inside of the TV. It works fine now with no issues. Very nice people to work with, and extremely reasonable.

 + -1 moreThe guy was great. He took about 20 minutes and told us the repairs would run from between $450 and $500. He said he could fix it for us but said we could probably find a good new TV for that amount. He recommended the type and kind of set to buy. We did buy a new 46 inch TV for $500.00 We are very happy with the new TV and happy that he was a straight shooter. He probably could have taken advantage of us but he didn't.
Description of Work: Our 32 inch Sony TV would no longer function. We called and asked for someone to come out and take a look at it for us.

 + -1 moreCalled company and within a few days the repairman called me to schedule an appointment at my house. He arrived on time and knew what he was doing. He discovered a blown fuse and reset the factory settings to be more exact. TV is now working good as new.

 + -1 moreRepairman called, came over in 20 minutes, completed the job in about 1/2 hour and mentioned that when the lamp does fail, I could replace it myself and save home service and installation charges. He showed me how to change it, quite easy, and it can be done in 5 minutes. Awesome technician!
Description of Work: Replaced a noisy and failing color wheel (bearing failure) on my Samsung DLP TV. Home service call, installation and part totalled approx. $400.00, much cheaper than purchasing a new large flat screen TV. First service call on that TV since purchased in May of 2005. Outstanding product, over 12,900 hours on the TV lamp (usual life 7,000-maybe 9,000 hours). When lamp fails, will purchase another lamp from this company.

 + -1 moreAbsolutely great! Scheduling was easy. The morning of the repair, they gave us a two hour window and then called again when they were on their way. Very knowledgeable service person. Diagnosed the problem quickly. Talked over all of our options with us without pressuring us one way or another. Came back with the part and fixed the tv in 15 minutes.
Description of Work: The picture on our 42" plasma went out with a pop and crackle. I called on a Thursday and scheduled an in-home diagnostic on Monday. Turned out to be a blown fuse from a short on one of the boards. They had the part in stock, and came back on Wednesday to fix it.

 + -1 moreThe problem was either a bad panel on the LCD TV or a bad cable inside the TV. Since the cable was a $45 repair we decided to try that first. The cable was ordered and the repairman returned and replaced the cable. Unfortunately that did not solve the problem. Since one can purchase a new television for the price of a new panel, no further work was done. The service providers were polite, knowledgeable and professional at all times. I would call them again.

 + -1 moreEverything went great. Overland tv did an in-home repair, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it for a relatively low cost.
Description of Work: I have a DLP HD tv. Initially I thought I had a burnt out bulb and replaced. After I did this, the tv still did not function. Overland TV did an in home visit and diagnosed the problem and fixed relatively cheaply. The repairman also cleaned the inside of the tv including the mirrors as part of the service, which I did not expect. There was also some confusion on the when they were supposed to come out and the repairman accommodated me and came out, which I appreciated. If he hadn't done that, I would have had to go the entire weekend without my big tv :-).
