We called Overland Park Heating and Cooling to perform our annual furnace service, which cost $194. During this service we requested a quote to replace our humidistat. Instead, they gave us a quote to replace our entire humidifier and install a filter for the water line...fine, the humidifier was 10 years old and I'm not sure the life expectancy of a humidifier. Thus, we proceeded to have them replace our humidifier and install a filter for the water line, which cost $475. Following the annual service and humidifier replacement, we had to call to have them come back and fix the following: (1) one of the damper keys was broken and on the ground, (2) the filter was placed on the cold water line instead of the hot water line (even I know humidifiers operate more efficiently using hot water) and (3) the humidistat screen was not replaced and is still blank. When I first called, the lady who answered the phone was very defensive and said I would need to discuss with the tech who installed the humidifier. When I called the tech who installed the humidifier he was understanding and said he would have the office call me to schedule an appointment and he would fix the problem. I didn't hear from their office for over 2 weeks, at which point I decided to be proactive and call them. The lady who answered the phone was combative from the beginning and said the tech had been trying to contact me to schedule the appointment (the tech had never called me). She also said if the tech determined it was his error then he would fix the items associated with the humidifier at no charge, but I would have to pay a service charge for the tech to fix the broken damper key. When I expressed to her that one of her employees broke it and there should be no charge to fix it, she told me to "prove it". I couldn't believe it - that was the worst customer service experience I've ever encountered. The tech came to my house to transfer the water line from the cold water to hot water. He investigated the damper key and was adamant that it broke as a result of poor installation nearly 10 years ago. I asked him if he could fix it, and he said he could but it would cost $150. I told him I thought that was pretty expensive to replace a damper key. He told me the price was mostly due to the cost of his labor (labor I was paying for them to fix something they broke). At this point I have paid the company $819, and I am exhausted by the poor customer service and constantly having to defend myself. Needless to say, I will not be using Overland Park Heating and Cooling for any of my future HVAC needs.

They did a good job. Everything is fine. They are very good. I thought the price was a little high, but they gave me a discount. The price of an water heater has gone up quite a bit. Its been very good. They got back to me really good. I have been using them for fifteen to twenty years. They are very good. I have been very satisfied.

I purchased 2 vouchers from eNeighbors/DIMBY for having my air conditioners inspected and cleaned by Overland Park Heating and Cooling. The work was done on Tuesday, 8/15. The service tech was nice enough and seemed to be working hard. After the service call, he told me I would need to add a bunch of freon to one of my units and explained the cost. He went on to tell me that I might want to consider buying a new unit as it was reaching the end of its life. I thanked him for the work and told him I would take his suggestions under advisement. One of the items that was on the "20 Point Air Conditioner Clean, Check, and Service" that I paid for was "Check and clean condensate drain, if accessible" which I assumed he did. On 8/17 (2 days later), I came home late to find my office (located next to the inside air handler) flooded. We traced the water back to find that it was condensation from one of the air conditioners. I discovered that the condensate drain hose was split and leaking water all over the floor which was seeping into my office. This was supposed to be checked! I called the owner of OPH&C several times, he finally called me back this morning (8/30) and said that his technician must have checked and cleaned the drain and that there was fine print in the contract stating that his business is not responsible for condensate leaks even though it was clearly part of their service. With service like this, how do you stay in business?!

We have had a maintenance agreement with OPHC for a few years. They always seemed professional, knowledgeable and honest. Our 15 year old central AC unit began having problems a week ago. They had a technician to our house that day. He had to come back the next day to diagnose it as the system had frozen. The diagnosis was that we had a leak in the main coil and the recommendation was to replace the system due to its age and high cost of repair. A neighbor who is an AC technician confirmed the diagnosis and recommendation.
The and quot;salesand quot; call was better than I could have expected. Dedrick really did not try to sell me anything, let alone up-sell me. He even went so far as to look up the repair history on my furnace which is also 15 years old. Seeing that I had just put several hundred dollars in that unit a year ago, he suggested that we only buy the AC at this time after he showed us how we would only be saving a very small amount of money overall by doing them both now. That was a pleasant surprise.
The installation was schedule for the next morning and the installers were great, even taking great care to not damage any of the extensive landscaping around the unit outside.
I have had nothing but good experiences with OPHC and will definitely being doing business with the company in the future!

When I first contacted this provider for a bid, they came out to my home and very knowledgeably took note of my issues and discussed why I was having these issues and what would be the best system to help resolve these issues. I have been extremely satisfied with the materials and workmanship of the installation along with the post-sale support.
In addition, this provider uses the latest technology for diagnosing system performance and were happy to explain to me everything they were doing. When the work is complete they write up the job on their iPads, you sign and pay on their iPads, and then they email you the receipt/statement along with a customer satisfaction survey.

Great! The service tech returned when the a/c was not blowing col air. Two days prior it had been serviced. The tech asked about the KCPL check line service and rebate available. From there the rep reviewed current system and provided 3 quotes that would provide the min to max performance. The installation went well. There was a smell which the company addressed immediately.

I had had good results with them. I always had a good experience with them, but the last time that they came out, they didn’t have the filter with them. They had to go all the way to get it. I called the manager and said that they should have the filters with them and also that it would be a good idea to know what type of filter each customer takes. He replied to me very rudely. I never got a call back from the owner. I won’t use them again in future. I didn’t like the rudeness and didn’t like the fact they did come prepared to do the maintenance check. Their price was a little higher than average.

We were really happy with their work. They confirmed what another company had said about our unit, but were $3500 cheaper. The technician who came out was very thorough. We had some problems with noise immediately after and they came out the next day to fix it. Also checked out the additional unit for no extra cost. The experience was very favorable.
