Spread top soil around foundation, spread some gravel, plNted flowers in multiple pots, spread a bunch of mulch, changed outdoor light bulbs, trimmed some trees/bushes. Cut up and hauled off branch and blew off patio and driveway.

Contacted the owner in April, and they were supposed to come out to my house, and weed beds, straight edge with a shovel, and put down mulch in 2 weeks. It is a large yard, with many perennials, and shrubs.. I told the owner, I wanted a professional company, no kids, and who know the difference between a weed, and a flower, and he assured me he would have a 3 man team, with his personal supervision, and it would take two days.
Two weeks later, some young guys were dropped off, they looked to be high school age, and then an older man who came one afternoon, who said he was helping out in the afternoons, but was a painter by trade. He told me he had accidently pulled out a spirea, and some of my perennials ( 3 yr old specimens) on the street side. He said he was sorry, and he had thrown them in the neighbors yard. I went and found a part of it, so I could hopefully save it. Yesterday, the kids that were dropped off were putting the mulch directly on the weeds, and had pulled my really nice stand of japanese anemones, several poppy mallows, and specialty yarrows which I found out after they had left. This is especially upsetting to me because I have spent 30 years working on this yard, and order plants from unusual sources, which are sometimes difficult to acquire again, and not locally available. Hardly any edging was done, and what mulch was done, is put directly over the weeds. 6 days later what mulch and edging done, is extremely sloppy. I have a privacy gate, and cannot leave it perpetually open for them to drop off kids in between mowing jobs, due to a blind and deaf dog, a lab, and a puppy, and I live on a very busy street.
I am done with this "professional" company, the kids that came said they mostly did mowing, and landscaping, is NOT their specialty. It was very obvious they did not know what to do, and what was a plant or a weed. I specifically told the owner, I needed to know it would be professionals, who knew how to do edging, and mulching, and I would do it myself, but I did not have the time, and he reassured me he would be there, and they were pros.
You will see they have had this same problem before, read other reviews. I wish I had. They are now selling this company to someone else, and I can see why. This is a company who mows, not landscapes, because they do not know the difference between weeds, and flowers.

First and foremost, we need to address that every member of all of our crews are over the age of 25, with a background check and many have been with us several years. We have ages ranging from 45-25 and all are able to serve our country and with all the signs on property about you will shoot if someone enters, we knew we were up for a challenge, After 6 days of straight rain, and the inability to access your property, without tearing it up, and after many attempts of getting there an not able to get into your property we had to make a decision to serve our other customers, Also note in fact, owner *(ME)* told you that this project may take a little longer due to all the work that YOU added onto the original estimate. When you put a review on someones profile like this, it could be very damaging and I can assure you that we wouldn't be in business for over 15 years with a VERY GOOD RATING, if we did shotty work like you stated. We tried to do everything to make you happy, but when you stand over our crews and try to micro manage a project that you hired us for then tell us to do everything Your way when it's been done wrong for many years, as stated numerous times, then maybe it is right that you find someone else. We go above and beyond to make our customers happy and with over 300 customers, you were not our only one to take care of. We could not ONLY BE there when you wanted us to. We have 3 crews we manage and need to be efficient, and to sit outside your property for over 2 hours when we try and call you and get in touch with you to no avail! It is not in our time management, especially playing catch up from the rain days. We hope that you find what you are looking for in your next hired hands, and again we are very sorry that we could not make you happy. We understand that it is a select few that don't like our work, but like it states in our profile and online, we are a christian based company and will not go without being heard, we will not be spoke about without getting all the facts at hand straight. May you find all that you need and want in the coming time."
"Being that this work was done almost 3 years ago and you're just now putting a response on here doesn't make sense to us at all however we have never hired high school or college age students we hire professionals and when you do it to the best of our knowledge and ability and that is why we've been in business for over 15 years if you had a problem then we wish you would've called us and let us know before you post such a sour review three years later on Angie's list"
Skipping weeks and shifting days did not bother me, until July when my bill was incorrect the first time. I communicated over email, and resolved the issue. The next month, August, the mowing service was 4 out of 5 weeks with shifting days, making it difficult to document when they were mowing, but because of the billing issues, documentation was necessary. In September, it was twice for the month. The first time the service was out in October was on 10/16. That was 3 and half weeks from the previous time, and my October bill claimed they where out for 3 weeks straight on 10/16, 10/24, & 10/30.
After sending another email about another billing issue, I was told that my documentation and understanding of the situation was wrong, and it was up to me to sort it out.
I will pay and cancel, because I have already invested too much time. Please save yourself the trouble.
I can't express how disappointed I am with this service. It started so well but has turned to distrust. I do not recommend Overland Park Choppers.
"This is quite an unfair and unjust review unlike corporate companies we try to look out for our customers the reason skipping of mowing was done was because the grass was too wet during the rainy season and we did not want to ruin the lawns of our customers 99% of our customers understand that and actually appreciate us doing that for them the ones that have told us to go ahead and mow on soggy properties have been upset and later understand why we choose to protect our customers from that kind of action we discontinued service with you because of your harsh and mean and disrespectful way of trying to do our business that we've been in service for over 15 years best of luck to you and yours."

"We followed instructions directly from what you wanted done with the leaves and brush being that this was done almost 3 years ago and you're posting this now seems quite odd however we would have made it to your liking if you would have not told us how to do the work we do everyday. It customers that try and tell us how to do something then leave poor feedback later that tarnish a reputable company. We've been doing this for 14 years and apologize you were not happy."
After being here 3 hours instead of the 4 hours (the deal was for 4 hours work) the gentlemen they said couldn't do any more as they had no sun but they wanted to get me in today.
In the morning I went out to notice the leaves had been cleared nicely and the flower bed cleaned. I also noticed some of the ornamantal grasses were trimmed extremely low with some leaves and debri in them. A couple were not upright but seemed to split in the center. When spring came After a few rains those cut quite low are almost non exisstant as any run off of soil seems to try to try to flatten the grasses .
"You purchase the big deal which included four hours which the print it says 4 man-hours so being that we had 2 to 3 men on the job at that time that would've been two hours per our logs we never say that the sun is going down and can't work we work well into the later evenings of nine 930 in the summertime when it's just getting dark so to say that the crew would have left at an inappropriate time almost 3 years later proves why we save our logs. And record jobs done. The owner even came back after you called and have you 2 extra hours Unbilled to you, to try and make you happy?"

I switched to op choppers because the ok'd company would not change the bulbs from c-9 translucence to ceramic ones which we like much better as they have that old fashioned look.

"A lot of people don't read the print of Angie's list big deals but the purpose of the big deal was for 4 man-hours which if there's two people there that is two hours, We do not ever leave a property UN-finished unless it is okay by the customer regardless there's always a way to upgrade or pay more to have your services finished, to rate a company and talk truth when that is one heck of a deal, then maybe you should check out how much that would have cost you had you not got a special, & with NO upsale...."
