NuLOOK Custom Finishes

As well as could be expected. It is a very old tub. Results are satisfactory.

Did an excellent job, looks great!  Work was done in a systematic and timely fashion. I would use them again.

They were fast with excellent results. The results was exactly what I was expecting at a great price. It does had a little rough feel to it.

Original date of project work performed was on October 12, 2012. Four (4) months later my shower floor (white base) turned yellowish. Dan (the owner) admits the imperfection and corrects it by refinishing the floor. Four (4) months later my Master Vanity z(white base) begins to turn yellowish in color. Again, Dan admits to the imperfection and refinishes the entire vanity. On or about September 5, 2013, I again contacted the company and notified Carol that my guest vanity has turned yellowish in color as opposed from its original white luster. An appointment was made for 9/18/13 for Dan to make repair similar to the two previous incidents. However, this time around Dan was aggravated and states that he will charge me additional fee to refinish. The Company description on warranty states: "NuLOOK Custom Finishes warrants its materials and craftsmanship for five (5) years on bathtubs, tile, countertops, vanities, showers, and back-splashes from job completion against peeling or other adhesion failure. We will repair free of charge, any defects in material and craftsmanship with customer proper care and maintenance; . . ."

After burning a hole in our old countertops, we decided to look in to countertop resurfacing as opposed to new countertops. We were looking to update our kitchen since we were also putting our house on the market and moving out of state. Carol from  NuLook came out and gave us an estimate for resurfacing. She was very nice and  took her time to show us all of the different options they had to offer. After shopping around at a few of the other competitors, we decided to go with NuLook since they had a lower price and we liked the style more than the other companies selection.
After a week or so, they came out and resurfaced the countertops in only a few hours. The installer was very professional and did a great job of taping off the entire kitchen so only the countertops were sprayed. We were very pleased with the finished countertops and received lots of compliments from friends and family. Our realtor also was very impressed by the look of our kitchen, which I think helped us sell our home very fast.

It went very well overall. Technician was punctual, professional, and work was done in a timely manner.

Installer did arrive a bit later than scheduled but he called and kept me informed. He came in and briefly explained what he was going to do and that he would need to open some windows since the product has a very strong smell. The installer was efficient and the process did not take very long. After the installer left and I inspected the work closely I did find a couple of runs in the paint. I called Nulook and they scheduled for the installer to come back out at my convenience to fix the runs. After the installer fixed the runs the tub looked great. I gave them a B on quality since they had to come back and fix the runs but I would make it a strong B+. Overall this is a great and inexpensive solution to fixing/repairing the tub finish as opposed to the hassle of tearing the tub out and installing a new tub. The person I dealt with at Nulook for scheduling was very friendly and willing to find a time that worked well for my schedule. I will emphasize again that the product has a strong odor and we left the windows open and exhaust fan running for several hours to clear the smell. So if you are sensitive to odors you may want to discuss this with Nulook and I'm sure they can work with you.

The process requires two appointments on consecutive days. The first day Dan arrived, he had taped up the room before I had seen how he was doing it. He used regular masking tape instead of painters tape. He was nearly finished when I asked him about that. He assured me that it would not be a problem. I said that I knew the masking tape would pull off the finish from some of our older woodwork. He reluctantly used painters tape in a few places. I was also worried about the fresh paint on my cabinets. But it was too late -- he had already used the masking tape. When I untaped the job a couple of days later (the minimum required waiting time) three sections of new paint on my cabinets pulled off. Dan also got epoxy on my new kitchen faucet. He came out the third day to remove it, and in order to remove it he had to sand it off. I told him about the paint pulling off on the cabinets that I had just painted. He replied that if the paint had been applied properly it would not have come off. He was arrogant and not particularly sorry. I decided to not hire him for the other projects I had planned to hire him for for the rest of the kitchen. I do not want him coming in and using masking tape again. Also, the first day he was spraying the epoxy, I came downstairs to see that he had propped two of my doors wide open. I started to worry about my cat, and later I couldn't find her. He never asked me if I had a pet. I did find the cat later that day. The second day I closed her in a room before he arrived.
