I took my computer tower in to Micro Center because the computer would power on, but nothing would display on the monitor. I was told there would be a charge of 39.99 to diagnose the problem, and if it couldn't be fixed it would be an additional 69.99 to recover the data from the hard drive if I provided my own external hard drive to put it on, or they could provide one for an additional charge. Christian called the next day with the good news that it was a problem with the motherboard that he could easily fix, so I could pick up the computer for an additional $40 labor charge. I did purchase a 1 TB external hard drive to back up my data so that I don't need to worry about that in the future. Christian was very highly knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I would definitely recommend Micro Center for computer repairs.

I had purchased AppleCare and Micro Center's Accidental Damage Handling warranty with the iPad purchase in December 2012. I broke the glass on the iPad in May 2014 and took it in to be repaired under the warranty as they advertise to be an Apple Certified Service Provider. The repair appeared to be done satisfactorily. Over the next several months I began to see dust particles under the glass and noticed that the lower left corner was not glued down properly. I finally got around to taking the iPad back to address this issue is mid-October. I received it back on October 29 and it appeared OK at a cursory glance. Later that night I discovered the glass was still not glued in the corner and there was some residual dust remaining. In addition the upper left corner of the aluminum back appeared to have been ground away with a Dremel or similar tool. The metal was rough and very thin. The aluminum back had no damage when I dropped the iPad off for repair. I returned to the store and showed it to the customer service person. At first they seemed to imply that I had done it before I brought it in. Then they disappeared to the back to speak with a service tech. On their return they said "they have to do that to replace the glass". I said they replaced the glass in May and there was no damage at that time or when I brought it in most recently. I got handed off to another customer service rep who reiterated that "they have to do that to replace the glass". I said that was ridiculous that something would be returned more damaged than when received. I asked what they were going to do and got told the manager would be in later and he would call me. To this point I was beyond upset with them. I did some calling to the AppleStore and confirmed that they did NOT have to damage the case to do a replacement on the glass. I also found that Micro Center is an Apple authorized Service Provider for "Mac" only. iPad and iPhone are not listed. The manager called later and said they were going to buy out the rest of the service contract. I just said, "OK", waiting to see what else he was going to suggest. After a longish pause he said they could give me an iPad from inventory, but they didn't sell that model anymore so he would replace it with an iPad Air with the same configuration as what I had. He asked about my color choice. I asked what I was going to have to do and was told that it would be sign some paperwork. I also had to pay sale's tax on the new iPad. The situation was resolved to my satisfaction. However it took the better part of my day with the 45 mile round trips to the store. Not mention the aggravation and rising blood pressure. I will purchase my new AppleCare plan at the AppleStore and probably won't shop at Micro Center again. I definitely would NOT recommend them for service and repair on Apple products!

The salesperson I had stuck with me the whole time, as we walked through the aisles, picking out parts for this build. We then worked with the technicians to get it done. There were some problems later, but they did take care of it. There was no problem at all there, as they were responsive to the problems. They did a good job.

My experience at MicroCenter was horrendous and expensive. Fool me once for selling defective products and demanding I pay service and restoration fees? Shame on you. Fool me again by trying to sell defective products and demanding I pay service and restoration fees? No thank you. The HERO in this story is Computer Medics, Overland Park, KS

The young man that helped me was excellent. I told him exactly what I wanted and he really listened to me and didn't try to push me into a more expensive camera. He took his time with me and really explained the different things about the camera and how to work it. He was so helpful.

i stopped by the service counter to find out a "ballpark" price for my issue, which was the laptop screen flickering on and off (it was off most of the time), but the image could be seen when the light was just right and using an external monitor was fine. a young lady who waited on me said it was probably the back light and that could be fixed for around $50. so I brought it in a few days later. they immediately required $76 just to drop it off (for diagnostics) and then called me 10 days later to say that it would be around $210 to fix. i felt it was incredibly misleading to tell me that it would probably be around $50 when their policy was $76 up front plus repair fees. So, I took it in expecting around $50 (she sure seemed to know what she was talking about) but instead was hit with $286.

They have a good selection and good prices. I find myself driving here from KC, MO to buy things instead of going to closer stores.
