The mowers would leave my gates open after they were finished and were specifically requested to close them after they were done mowing as i have 2 small dogs. My dogs got out one day. Thankfully a Neighbor got them (I wasn't home). Their reply was they cannot guarantee their workers will close the gate when they're done. I cannot trust or recommend this company.

I contracted with KCscapes, Mark Elliott, to landscape my front yard, including the construction of a retaining wall. The retaining wall, was completed in Oct of 2014. In the spring of 2016, just 18 months after completion, I noticed the wall was leaning. I called Mark and left a voice message. Mark returned my call and apologized saying the man who did the wall had been having problems at the time and might not have been doing his best work. He promised to come by and look at the wall and he would take care of it. He indicated that this was his busy time and the work would have to wait until fall. I understood the need to delay the work, and since I believed Mark was dealing in good faith, I agreed. In October of 2016 I called Mark and left a voice message to inquire about the repair. When he finally returned the call he he insisted I had misunderstood and that he originally said fall or winter, not fall. In January of 2017, I left another voice message. As of this writing, Mark has not returned my call. In Feb. 2017, I had a company that specializes in wall building come to look at the wall. He explained the deficiencies in the construction and what should have been done to insure a solid permanent wall. He explained what he would have to do to repair the wall at a cost of $950. At this point, nearly a year had passed from my original call to Mark regarding the wall. This time I called Mark to suggest that since he did not have time to do the repair, he could pay the $950 to have it repaired by another company. I asked Mark to please respond or I would have to seek other options to resolve my problem. No response from Mark. Needless to say I am very disappointed to have placed my trust in Mark Elliott to act professionally to resolve this issue.

The plans were beautiful, it was exactly what we wanted. I was disappointed that it took about 4 months to get the plans. We had to contact them a number of times to remind the company that we needed plans. They came out and made some uncomfortable comments about previous customers. Summer was over before we were able to complete our plans.

It actually didn't work out. He came by and he put plans together, but when he reached out to me I was on vacation for a couple of weeks. By the time I got back, it was mid-summer, so I decided not to move forward with the landscaping. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable. It was just the timing that didn't work out pretty well.

He claims to have driven by and looked at my home. He gave me verbal assessment for around $2000. He wouldn't produce a plan until I settled on a budget; he settled on an amount of $2000, and that didn't meet my expectations.

I told Mark Elliott I wasn't in a hurry for the plan since he said the response to his offer had been overwhelming.  At the end of June, I contacted Mr. Elliott about the status of the plan.  He said he would work on it over the July 4th weekend and get back to me the following week.  Mr. Elliott called Tuesday, 15 July and made an appointment for Saturday, July 19.  Mr. Elliott arrived on time on the 19th.  We went over the plan he devised at the site of the proposed plan.  The plan was not quite what we had talked about previously but had merit for the area.  I intend to work the plan, mostly on my own.  I do not agree on some of the plants proposed but will install some of the plants.  The cost of the proposed work seemed high.  If the labor rate is about $50/hour, he would have 2 men for 2 days for the job. That seemed about right, but could be a little light.  The most time consuming item was the building of two cedar trellis on site.  Also 3 bushes and a bed of plants would be included.  One aspect that bothers me is the statement that the work would be time and material.  If the labor is more that $50/hour and the time is longer than 2 days, the cost could escalate in a hurry.  The hand drawn plan was what I expected and did an adequate job of conveying what he wanted to do.  It was at least a $49 plan.  His plan also expanded what I was envisioning and that is a good thing.  Also included was a flat patio area for the bird feeder area which would be in the center of the area.  We didn't like the idea of removing our present flat rock walking area for the rectangular concrete area.  Just our preference.  I priced out the material for the two trellis at Home Depot and found the proposed material price to be high.  I don't know what labor cost was included in the materials price, if at all.  An unknown that needs to be known.  There are many unknown items that would clarified before agreeing to having Mr. Elliott's crew did any work.  This is not a bad thing, but just doing business on the front end.

I had four issues with them. First I knew up front that he takes time off during January as he let me know. It did take him a month and a half longer than I thought it would to come out for the first consultation even. The second thing that I felt was that he was not professional in some of his comments and it was inappropriate hearing him make multiple comments. He was professional at times during the process. For the third thing it had to do with price as after we talked about everything initially he gave me a ballpark estimate and then he doubled the price that he initially said with his estimate when coming back. Lastly I am not sure I agree with some of his designs and I was really surprised with some of the aspects that he provided in the plans.

The service from The Gardener was fine. We didn't go with that particular gardener. We went with for one with a lower bid on the property anyway he was a very good guy. There were no additional charges on top of the 49 dollars for the big deal. This was the first time we used them. He was very knowledgeable. He gave me a very detailed plan. The plan was very nice. I didn't really use the service we just got that one plan. The cost was kind of high for what I had asked for. He was pretty busy. I probably will not use this provider again in the future because I think that he is a little too expensive.

He calls and tries to get an appointment for him to come out. I thought I was getting a landscape design for the money that I paid for. I showed him the area that I wanted done, but then he wanted to do the whole front yard but that’s not what I wanted. When I asked him to send me the plan for the area he wouldn’t do that so I got nothing done. He told me he would meet me here at my home at a certain time but when he called it was later in the day which wasn’t what we discussed.

Mr. Elliott and his crew were good to work with.  During the job, I made several changes and that caused some confusion on both sides but the confusion was worked out to the satisfaction of both parties. The work they did was done very well and we were very satisfied.
