Just Plumbing

I found out the night before, that the owner was not doing the work himself, but merely overseeing the work. His workers were not very competent. While conducting the work, I found them putting in sections with uphill drainage, so I asked them to correct. I decided to review literature a bit, while they were doing the work and found they were not following code by putting in long elbows, where needed. They tried to talk me into doing the basement laundry sink differently than what was agreed in the proposal, saying it was not possible to tie the line in where originally planned. I bought parts that allowed this line to be placed where requested and they did so. I had to keep checking their progress and indicate inadequate work, which they did fix, except they left the toilet bolts sticking several inches out of the toilet, instead of cutting them off and putting caps on. With this exception, they did good work in the end, but I had to watch them closely and confront them as needed.
