Great. He was on time, did what was needed and I thought the service charges were very reasonable.

Our backdoor didn't latch very well and we had an alarm call. Nothing was apparently stolen but we were shaken nonetheless. We called this service provider and he was out the next day. Rather than trying to get us to buy a new lock he simply repaired the current and it worked perfectly afterwards. His price was reasonable and he finished relatively quickly. We will definitely use him again.

I called to request service at 2:30 and the locksmith arrived about 20 minutes later.  He got right to work on the 1st door, having to reposition the switch plate so that the door would latch properly.  The door latch was stuck in the door frame on the 2nd door and he had to use a number of tools to remove the remainder of the knob/lock assembly but ultimately succeeded.  He then installed a new lock set I had on hand.  He made both repairs/replacements in about an hour.  The provider, JR, was a man of few words but was polite & pleasant when speaking with me.  I am quite pleased with the experience.

I got us into a bind when I locked us out of the house. Johnson County Key Service was the second locksmith I called and I should have called them first. The gentleman from Johnson County Key Service arrived promptly in a company-marked vehicle. He alerted us to the fact that we had been scammed by the first people I had called (who arrived in a private vehicle, wanted to charge over half of what he ended up charging, and weren't even successful at picking the lock - I have since filed a report about the scam to the BBB). The gentleman from Johnson County Key was professional, courteous, respectful and knowledgable. When we initially thought our landlord would be able to get to us with a key, the gentleman from Johnson County Key left without charging us anything (despite the time he had taken to drive to our house and work on the lock). We ended up calling the company back when we found that our landlord didn't have the right key, and the same gentleman returned, with no hint of irritation for having to return, and he was able to get us into our home in a relatively short time frame. He charged us less than half of what the scammers had quoted [for the service of getting us back into our house (he had to work on two doors), the two trips, and his time he charged $60 total]. I truly appreciate him letting us know that we had been the victims of a scam, and I appreciate the manner in which he handled everything. I would use them again (though hope I've learned my lesson and won't ever have to!) and would recommend this company without hesitation.

Johnson County Key Service give excellent service, they are on time and it worked.

Let the dog out at 3 a.m.  Went to let the dog in, couldn't get the security door to unlock.  Since I'd been using WD-40, I didn't think that was it so I tried harder to turn the lock and broke the key off at the shaft, with the shaft still in the lock.  Called all the 'A' rated locksmiths on Angie's List but none were open, it being a cold Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. (closed on weekends).  I finally tried Johnson.  Chris came out a little after noon.  He finessed the key shaft out but the problem was that the door itself did not have a standard lock (which is a whole 'nother issue and not with Johnson).  He was not able to replace the lock.  But with the key out, he was able to make another key.  (This door cost $1,200 ten years ago.  There are no available parts.  A handyman said to use the key as the handle in opening and closing--and locking--of the door which worked fine until this, the key breaking in the lock probably due to a worn part in the lock itself.)   I really appreciate how Chris helped me!
