JC'S QUALITY PAINTING & HOME REPAIRS INC

James Castro painted our 90-year-old Tudor-ish stucco and wood house 17 years ago, so it was finally time to have it redone. The emphasis is on surface prep. He and his crew worked very thoroughly to sand, scrape, power wash and prime all of our house's surfaces. They also replaced rotted wood around most of the windows; that was long overdue. All during the job, James kept me informed about the work schedule. He carefully explained each stage of the work and described the materials he would use. Near the end of the painting, I decided to replace the aluminum storm windows, which were about 40 years old, with similar new ones. He was able to get that done quickly. We're very happy with the completed work!

James and his brother provided excellent service. The work was performed in a timely professional manner and attention to detail. They performed the work as if it was their own home. I would highly recommend and will definitely hire again for future repairs.

We have a 100+ year old home, with plenty of interior woodwork and plaster; exterior is stucco and wood trim. We hired JC's to paint the interior a year ago and James and his crew just finished painting the exterior, which included stucco, wood and storm window repair and cleaning. His prep work both inside and outside was extensive and the painting meticulous. James approaches each job with a "can do" attitude - very important on older homes where unseen issues crop up - and his crew is a friendly bunch. JC's is not the most expensive and not the cheapest, but does quality work for a reasonable price.

James Castro, the owner ,is truly a quality workman! He is detailed and highly skilled in any type of home repair or improvements. His work is exceptional and the men working under him are pleasant and good. He is on time and works with his great staff (some of whom have been with him for over 9 years) continually on the job until it is finished.
James is a good businessman who returns phone calls and manages the jobs very professionally. Totally trustworthy and fair in price, for he does QUALITY workmanship!! There is nothing that he can;t do or figure out how to work. It is very important to James that he takes pride in the job that he has done and that the client is happy.

We got 3 bids for this and James' was very competitive.  I appreciated that he was the one who would be doing the work, and I called one of his references, since there were not a lot of reviews yet on Angie's list.  The reference I called spoke very highly of James and said he had done a lot of work on her home.  He fit us in fairly quickly and showed up to work with his father and nephew. All three seemed to be very responsive and hard workers.  At key points along the way he took my husband and me aside to explain what he was doing, what was next, etc.  (the whole process took about 3 or 4 visits because the drywall mud (?) has to dry between applications.  He primed the area after it was done and it looks great.  He was very accommodating to our requests, he called on the morning he was running late to let us know what was going on.  He was a hard worker and seemed very thorough; he moved things in and out of the garage as necessary, covered up equipment that could be covered, and cleaned up the garage after it work was finished.  I would definitely recommend his work.

He originally had given one bid that was a lot more than I wanted to pay and so I came back and said what can you do for this amount. It was the amount that I got from KC Exterior. And so he came back with a bid that was OK. He did a good job, they cleaned up every day, I didn't have any complains. The final price was reasonable.

James (owner) was very courteous and gave (I thought) a fair price. I had been unable to get return calls from any stucco contractors for my small job. He was able to have his crew work during downtime on another job. Work was done when promised and they got an excellent match on the texture.
