As far as purchasing it the lady that helped us in the store was very good, very knowledgeable and she didn't pressure us or what you usually get from salesmen. I think she did a good job and then they had people that called us to tell us to schedule the delivery and then another set of guys actually delivered it and installed it but it all seemed to work.

They did not have it. She was helpful, but she was not just as experienced. Their price is comparable to everybody else. I had a little trouble finding somebody yesterday, normally, I do not. They could have somebody a little more experienced and available. It is clean there. I would refer them to somebody.

They came in with a computer to measure and it was cut incorrectly. You can see all the seams and you can see where they cut in places where it shouldn’t have been cut. They wanted to send back the same people who did it. I asked for them to replace it. He refused to do anything about that. It was an $8,000 job and said he would be willing to pay for half of it; I told him I wanted to think about that, but when I got back to him, he said they wouldn’t pay for any of it. They sent me to a resolution person in Tennessee to follow up and they didn’t help at all either. I am looking to sell my home and we have had people make comments about the carpets and they are brand new.

The employee at the Overland Park store was very helpful in handling the sale of the washer and dryer for our winter home in Austin, TX.  He arranged for and confirmed the delivery of the appliances as well as alerting us to requirements for installation that we were able to arrange for in advance of delivery.  In Austin, the appliances were delivered and installed when promised.  The delivery/installer, besides hauling away the broken appliance, re-rerouted the dryer vent for a more efficient air flow.
The lawn mower purchased on line arrived damaged.  Customer service contacted UPS and arranged to pick up the damaged mower.  They even offered me a significant discount on the replacement.  The replacement arrived intact and has performed well from the first use.  After not seeing the credit for the original mower after the second billing cycle, I again contacted customer service to inquire about the receipt of the damaged mower at their warehouse.  The customer service rep was very helpful in tracking it down and ensuring that a credit was posted to my Home Depot account.
I have had nothing but good, professional help from my local Home Depot at 9600 Metcalf and I return there often (my wife says too often) to shop and to give our dogs an outing.  Home Depot is one of the few stores that allows dogs on a leash and mine enjoy exploring and meeting new people--especially if they offer treats!

On July 7, 2014, we visited the Home Depot location in Overland Park, KS, to purchase two storm doors, one for the front door of our house and one for the back. The Home Depot millwork specialist recommended Andersen storm doors.  After reviewing the sales materials for two days, we returned to order them and were told that someone would come to measure the doors shortly, and then we could return to purchase the doors.  On July 11, a man came to measure the frames.  When we returned to the store, we were told that he had measured only the back frame and would come back the next day to measure the front.  He did not come that day, as we found when we returned to Home Depot on July 16, but we were told that he would measure the frame on July 17.  A call from the store on July 21, from another millwork specialist, informed us that the frame had still not been measured, but would be the following day.  After a three-day period of silence, we returned to the store on July 25 and another millwork specialist said that they still had not heard from the measurer.  We asked if they would call him, but were told that they always wait for him to call.  Clearly nothing was taking place and there was no reasonable hope that it would.  So we decided to cancel the order, to which the specialist cheerfully replied "O.K. Have a great day".
Our strong impression is that there is little or no communication between employees at this Home Depot location.  We dealt with four millwork specialists over the course of three weeks, and none knew what the other had said or what the individual who measures frames had done or would do.  An even greater failure of Home Depot employees to communicate with us during this ordeal indicates a lack of commitment to customer satisfaction.
Finally, a complaint to the "Contact Us" icon on the Home Depot website has gone unanswered.

This Home Depot is conveniently located, but that is the only positive thing I can say about it. They have whittled down their available showroom staff to the point that it takes an act of Congress to find someone to help in the window blinds or a similar department. I spent a very frustrating 60-75 minutes recently trying to get help without success; I finally drove 15 minutes to the Lowe's store and spent about $1200 in less than an hour. When I left negative comments on the Home Depot website the next day, I received a voice mail from the store manager asking me to call him back. I did return the phone call, within a couple of hours, but it took him 3 days to call me back. He was full of excuses, but asked me to come back when I needed further supplies for the home that we were rehabbing, and he would "work something out". I chose not to return. No wonder the employees don't take customer service seriously!

We were super pleased with them.  They sub contracted the work but they were in charge of the project.  The cabinets and everything were through them.  They did an excellent job.  They were very easy to work with.  I looked through their books and found what I wanted.  I went through their designer to be sure that things would fit and how it would look.  They then came out and did the work.  My only complaint was that there wasn’t somebody here all the time because they had subcontracted.  One person might come and do some work and then it would be a day or two before the next person came to do his job.  It kind of took a long time.

Home Depot outsources this to a very responsive company.  They give you a
very thorough bid and the designer they sent was very professional.  In
the end we chose not to use them.  Their price was too high and they
required the entire payment upfront prior to any work begun.  The only
other option is to finance, but not sure how that would help if
something is not done correctly.   Promises to fix any issues would not
be enough for me.  I wound up using independent contracts and saved
money and work was great

I disliked the fact that they subcontract it all. The installers do not come out until the day it installed. You deal with three different companies. I hated the quote guy. He was very rude.

The installation process was great and the quality of work was perfect.  The hiccups in the process were all up-front as Home Depot did not note the correct type/color of door on our account and it took almost a month between the time we selected and placed the order in store to the time it was actually installed.  Obviously I thought it would happen a little more quickly than that, but at the end of the day (a month later), the door is installed and looks great!

two well-insulated exterior doors in an old bungalow home were needed.   The installation was very work-intensive to retrofit the doors.  I was amazed at how expertly the installer handled the job.  And he cleaned up the work area spotlessly.  I had been hesitant to use Home Depot thinking I would just be a "number" due to their large volume, however, I was pleasantly surprised at the individual attention they gave to me.

We met with a kitchen design specialist on 3-4-11.  She was helpful and knowledgeable about the various products.  We selected the countertop, sink and faucet, disposal, range hood, gas range and dishwasher that day.  We had to go to a different department for the flooring but were given to understand that the work would be coordinated.  We paid for and took the smaller items home with us that day (disposal, hood, faucet and gas range).  The countertop people were great - they came out as scheduled and did the preparation and later installed the countertop and undermounted sink as well as the backsplach.  But, after that, things kind of went downhill.  Mind you, everything was already on our HD charge card at this point.  First problem was with the plumber who was supposed to hook up the sink and diposal. We also thought he was supposed to install the dishwasher and hook up the range.  He was not at all professional and actually complained that HD wasn't paying him enough. He pretty much refused to hook up the range and dishwasher because he wasn't getting paid enough.   His work was pretty shoddy on the sink and my husband complained to HD. After much argument, they finally sent their "Master plumber" out and she ended up agreeing that it was not done properly.  They did make it right but it was a hassle.  My husband actually ended up hooking up the range and dishwasher himself. The next problem was with the flooring.  We selected a hard bamboo "floating" floor.  This was not a cheap floor and not like a Pergo type floor.  The product was delivered and we had a heck of a time getting the installers to come out .  When they did, they said we had a "high" spot between the entry hall and the kitchen and they just left!  Now, an estimator had already come out to look at the floor prior and he didn't find any problem like that so we were stumped about what to do .  As it turned out, we had to find a flooring conttactor to come in and level the floor - another $700.  After that, HD sent in a different crew of installers and they did a good job - the head guy even said that they could have fixed the high spot for less cost!!  I guess that's easy to say after the work was done.  It's been 3 months now and we are over the trauma - only problem we seem to have is the kitchen faucet wobbled and my husband has done some work on it..  I guess this was one of our more complicated projects but I really don't think I would do it the same way if I had it to do over again.

Remodeled our small bathroom. Big job. They had to knock out some walls and shrink a couple of closets in order to expand the bathroom with new shower, vanity, tile, the works, including new shelves for the now smaller closets. Work was ok, but for the price, we expected better. Sloppy mud job on new drywall and ceiling texture was thin in spots, requiring paint to cover it. I called about the ceiling and was told that it was the nature of this ceiling and that we would just have to paint it. The job took 11 or 12 work days. One advantage of Home Depot is the one year to pay without interest.
