I would never consider requesting an estimate from Bob Hamilton Plumbing again and would never recommend this company to anyone. In fact I would warn everyone to be afraid of this company. I had heard their ads over the years and decided to contact them by email (through their website) to request an estimate. I contacted them by email on Friday the 26th. Within the hour they contacted me and said they could meet me on Sunday. I thought it was odd that they would schedule appointments on Sunday when I was simply seeking a non-emergency repair quote. The person in charge of scheduling my appointment informed me that there is a $48 service charge, and a Sunday appointment would not cost any more than a weekday appointment. And, Sunday is the next available appointment. So I scheduled to meet with them on Sunday. Although I received numerous calls, emails, and texts from Bob Hamilton Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, it wasn’t until about 8 PM on Sunday evening that the service person finally arrived and he arrived without my having received the advance call that I was told I would receive. I wasn’t impressed with the service person and thought the pricing he quoted was extremely high so I politely told him I was not interested in contracting to have any work completed. I presented the service person my credit card. He charged my credit card the $48.00 service charge at the conclusion of the Sunday evening appointment and left. I then received a message on my home phone 5 days later (i.e. Friday 2/2/2018 from Katie with Bob Hamilton expressing that there is a $48 balance due and she would like to have this issue taken care of or “will turn it over for collection”. After hearing this message, I immediately checked my credit card account (on line) and found that a $48.00 charge to my credit card from Bob Hamilton Plumbing actually was processed and paid on 1/30/2018. So, at 8:45 pm on Friday 2/2/2018 I called the number that Katie had left and received a recorded message indicating to leave a message and my call would be returned within 5 minutes. So, I left a message and sometime after 9 pm (approximately 20 minutes after my call) I did in fact receive a call from “the answering service”. I explained the reason for my call and informed the answering service that I expected a call tomorrow and expected an apology because I did in fact pay the $48 service fee at the time of the appointment and find it quite un-professional for Bob Hamilton Plumbing to be leaving threatening messages when they are totally unfounded. The whole experience was horrible, from the 1st call till the threatening message 5 days later. And, who knows if the ordeal will actually be resolved tomorrow. My opinion of Bob Hamilton Plumbing is that they spend more time performing telemarketing and collections than performing plumbing services.

Worker showed up on time, and was very professional. This is not my issue with BH Plumbing. I escorted him to the master bathroom, and showed him the shower. I let him know that, the day before, I had already tried to see if I could fix, but i determined that I didn't have the skill set to do it. I put everything back together again, so we can use the shower. He then started to evaluate, by taking the handle off, and unscrewing the wall plate that covers the valve. Once he was able to see the valve, he took a picture of it. We then walked back to the family room, and he said he would go to his truck, and come back with an estimate to fix. I was already thinking to myself, "this is going to be expensive". When he walked back in to the house, he showed me his estimate. I have attached it for your review. Please check it! After my initial shock of hearing how much it would cost to fix, I told him that I would pay for the 49.00 dispatch fee, (I had agreed to that when I made the appt), and I thanked him. I have no issues with the worker, because I'm sure he was just following the company's guidelines. However, it made me feel like they were wanting, and openly trying to take advantage of me. I have replaced a few valves in the past, but had never seen one quite like this one. I decided to try YouTube. There were so many videos on how to do it, that I went to Home Depot, bought the valve for 25 dollars, and fixed it myself. BH left me with a sick feeling after ward. I will never call them again. Consumer beware.

He was very good. It was pretty expensive. We had many plumbers that couldn't find the problem. They were expensive, but they found the problem.

They came out on a Saturday, which was great. They charged us 215.00, which included the service fee and the diagnostic charge, to tell us we needed a new modular and motor fan which could cost up to 1000.00. They needed to order the motor part and would call Monday. They called and said they had a package price of 1500.00 to fix our unit. We called Buckners and they came out (without a service fee) and fixed the motor and capacitor for 548.00 Wished we had called them first. 215.00 just to find out "what we needed to have done to fix it". Not happy.

Dear Bob, Thanks for coming out, but your prices are way, way, way out of line. You were proposing over $2,000 to rework two sinks and re-seat a toilet! Your tech stated you don’t charge hourly, but I can do math in my head and you were charging me for a full day’s work to replace a faucet - $750?! Wow. Very disappointed. Better not call Bob. Dave

My advice to anyone considering Bob Hamilton: Consider other options before settling on Bob Hamilton. This review is long because I have been a customer of Bob Hamilton for almost 9 years now, and I want to be fair both in what they've done right and why I now believe there are better options. In the past, I purchased a heat pump from them, and I was generally happy with it, so I continued to use them. When I sold my old house last year, it turned out there was a gas leak, and Bob Hamilton stepped in with a solution and fixed the problem quickly so I could get my house sold. It cost a lot, likely more than it should have, but I was in a position where it needed to get done fast, and I will say they came through in that regard. Last summer, though, the a/c in my new house failed. I received several bids, including from Bob Hamilton. Bob Hamilton was the highest of all, but I knew and trusted the sales person from previous experience. He really sold me on the highest end unit, saying that the energy savings would ultimately be worth it and it would keep the house extremely cold. To be fair, he gave me other options too, but he really pressed me on the highest priced option, which was several thousand dollars more than the next option. I know that's probably to be expected, but again, I knew this sales person. After the a/c was installed, it obviously worked better than the 20 year old unit it replaced, but it did not keep the house ice cold. In fact, it still struggled to even maintain the set temperature during the afternoon. (I was keeping it around 78 degrees, and the living room would still slip above that.) I contacted the sales person and he did come back out with a group of people to see what could be done. They spent a couple hours checking everything out, which I appreciated, but ultimately they said everything was working fine, and that this was just how it was going to perform. I was told because of the location of the air conditioning unit, this was likely the best it could do. The sales person told me that, given the high ceilings in my house and the square footage, I probably should have had 2 units installed. However, none of these things were explained to me in the buying process or before the unit was installed. So, in the end, I learned that the benefits of my higher priced unit were pretty much negated, and I would have probably been just as well off going with one of the cheaper options. However, one of the things that had sold me on going with Bob Hamilton was that they threw in a service plan. Again, I was willing to pay a little extra knowing that they would fix the a/c over the next several years. Recently I received a call from Bob Hamilton asking if, as part of my service plan, I would like to schedule my yearly plumbing check up. I said sure, so we made an appointment for 8 a.m. on a Saturday. When Saturday came around, no one showed up. By 8:45 I had to call Bob Hamilton (which took two tries because no one answered the phone the first time). I was told that apparently they were too busy with other calls that day, and that no one would be able to come. When I asked why no one had contacted me, they said that someone should have, but they didn't know why I wasn't contacted. As far as I was concerned, this was the last straw. In the end, I'm stuck with Bob Hamilton for many years because of the service agreement and the money I spent. I'll deal with it. But you don't have to. Consider your other options, and realize that while Bob Hamilton does many things well, it is often extremely expensive and may not ultimately perform they way they sell it to you.

After opening up my ceiling and the wall in the bathroom, the leak was identified as a corroded pipe leading from the shower head to the pipe in the wall. It was an 8 dollar part at Home Depot that they estimated would cost me an additional $100 to replace. After already paying over $250, this was a joke. Pricing for repairs was predetermined by a book was what the plumber told me. No reason to fleece the customer.

The experience with them was horrible. My wife was here and they grossly overpriced it. It was a simple job and they got it done, but billed like $600 for an hour’s worth of work. I would not recommend Bob Hamilton. They were punctual I suppose.

They are very good and are friendly and courteous. They came out and cleared out the drain lines. They did a great job and I have not had any problems since. They put on shoe covers when they came in and were neat and tidy. They cleaned up their mess thoroughly and I will continue to use them.

A tech came to the house, spent 2 plus hours on and off the phone with the manager, and came up with no real cause or solution. They were glad to sell a service contract for slightly less than charging for diag charges. Saved the $30 but still have no idea what the cause is/was. The rational given was the filter was to restricitive. The same brand/type of filter that has been used multiple times without issue.

It was $8,000. They?re a big company, so they have all these specialists and all of that. There was an issue that came up that they had to refer to another department. It just made things go a little longer than I thought they should of. I think it is primarily because of their size.

The work that they did was great and all that sort of stuff, but they weren?t the fastest and they weren?t the cheapest. I think when you are buying things like furnaces and stuff like that, I don?t think you want to go with the cheapest either.

It?s not like they did anything wrong. The people that I have come and do service at my house, I like to kind of have a relationship with them like I do with another company. Bob Hamilton is a pretty big company, so you don?t get that personal sort of a relationship going with them. The workers were very professional.
