Retaining wall around our big oak tree looks great!

They started later than they estimated due to delays on another project but we were not in a hurry. They worked hard in hot weather and got the job done in one day. They solved a drainage problem with a rerouted downspout drain, fill dirt and new sod which matched our other grass. Price was reasonable and I would recommend them.

They on date and on time. They worked until job was completed. No â breaksâ . The only advice I could pass on is to verify the type of sod being installed so that it matches the rest of the lawn.

This small job quoted a 5 week time frame. It took almost 3 months from the quoted date Several things we talked about when the job was quoted were not done and others half done. I think because my job was small it was not looked upon as important.

I had soil and sod built up around my foundation and had french drains installed. I'm very happy with the results. They worked my project with pretty short notice and with very quick turnaround.

They did a fantastic job putting up my retaining wall and they showed great problem solving skills when certain unforseen issues came up. I would hire them again.

Beware! Beware! Embarrassed Gold Lawn Care Client! 9/6/2022 I know that I asked the right questions before contract agreement. Brian is very personable individual. I was excited about the project. Brian came out to review exactly what areas of the lawn I wanted the new sod installed. Gave an estimate then but said he would email a better quote after he got back to office. Two more rolls were added to cost of sod when he emailed the contract. I agreed to the contract. Brian came out again and reviewed the job with a crew member who would being doing the job because he would be out of town on the install date. Crew of two was courtesy and arrived promptly at 9:00am on September 6, 2022. Crew just scraped away dead grass from bare spots (I was not outside while crew was doing the job, as I did not think I needed to oversee) At 9:58am, I hear their truck leaving. When I go outside, I see that there are areas that have dirt scraped away but no sod. What was installed is uneven and not seated in the dirt. Sod is sticking up two inches from other grass and not tamped down. I called Brian because job is incomplete and ask is the crew coming back? After my questions and concern I was told: They would be back with additional sod. Sod was different from first sod brought earlier that morning and they had to go to Grass Pad and get additional sod. The next day when presented with the bill, I discovered that I had to pay for the additional rolls because Brian calculated the wrong number sod needed for job. Learned that that they normally do the entire lawn instead of repairs (We should have been told that at time of original quote).The crew did tamp down the sod in the front but not on right side or right back. Brian said he would come back in a month if sod did not root. In addition to the watering (the only thing I should have had to do) I spent the next three days going around the exposed sod edges. Very tired week! I am visually impaired. One, I am embarrassed that my neighbor to the right was questioning if Gold Lawn company was coming back on September 7? Two, my neighbor to the left expressing correctly that it looked like the company just sat the sod on top of the bare ground. I have installed sod prior to my visual impairment eight years ago. It took three weekends on my day off, but the project came out beautifully. The project was at rental home location of a friend.

considering the miserable and muddy conditions the crew had to work under they did a marvelous and acceptable job. my wife is pleased and so am i.

They were very good relative to quality. The made sure that all the stone was properly laid and finished.

We had two fairly large brick retaining walls that were on the brink of failure and a concrete patio between them that was starting to crumble. We had some ideas about how we wanted to replace them (and expand them), and the other contractors that gave bids took our ideas and wrote up bids. When Brian came out to do the estimate, he listened to our ideas, then he took the time to look around at the house and yard and environment, and was able to offer options and ideas that were way better than anything we had considered, for around the same price. We live in an older house that has been modified and expanded several times over the years, so we always find surprises when doing a project. We warned Brian about this and realized that there might be additional costs, depending on the surprise. As expected, they found a few (some kind of ugly) during demolition of the old walls and patio. In each case, Brian and/or his crew would show us the issue, offer solutions, and make sure we agreed before moving forward. As expected there were a few small-ish price adjustments to handle some of the bigger surprises (like when they had to spend an extra day busting out a section of concrete patio that was more than 2 1/2 feet thick instead of the few inches thick everywhere else). The adjustments were justified, very reasonable, and expected (since the scope of the job had changed). Brian was upfront about everything as it came up and made sure to explain everything before proceeding, so there were no surprises in that department. Brian and his crew were friendly, professional, and hard-working. Most importantly they were competent and skilled. As another reviewer mentioned, it took a while for them to initially get out here to start the job (apparently ALL contractors were swamped this summer due to covid or whatever), but once they got here, even with the surprises and delays, they knocked out the job in about a week. Most importantly, the new walls and patio turned out absolutely beautiful. My neighbors have commented on how great it looks - way nicer than it did before or anything we were considering. I look forward to many years enjoying it. I also love the lifetime warranty on the walls and 10 year warranty on the patio! We have a couple other projects that we're thinking about maybe doing sometime down the road, and we'll be keeping Brian's number handy.

Brian and his team members were very professional, courteous and the quality of their work on my patio was outstanding. They were able to do the job ahead of time and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely hire them again.

It took a long time (3months) to get to my house after we signed contract, but once he was there they did the job in 2 days. It looks very nice.

The contractor did not complete the total project per contract. We requested and agreed that various decorative areas were to be rocked, cleaned, and matted with high-quality matting plus new high-quality matting around existing foundation and rock over plus weeding. Trim all bushes and clean and remove debris. He contracted for 7 tons of rock for the project. He represented him and his crew as experts in landscaping. The contractor underestimated the amount of rock and only had 6 tons delivered and it was drawn to the attention of his estimate to find that he paid for only 6 tons. He ordered another ton that did not complete the contracted work and wanted a change order to add more rock. We agreed to purchase one more ton. It was not sufficient and no quality mating was placed around the foundation but a lower quality of mating was placed in the decorative areas with the appropriate rock. My wife and I were required to spread extra rock the next day around the foundation plus rake around bushes to remove trimmings. The contractor mentioned that he could not place the mating around the foundation but would be willing to place various patch mating in and around the foundation which showed either weeds, old black mating (12 years old). It would require a large change in order to place the contracted mating. We were not given a reason for the requirement of a change order as the original contract included matting around the foundation. He promised high-quality clips to secure the mating. We had to draw to their attention that the clips were bent and not securing the matting properly and not of the quality which was initially used 12 years ago. The total price with change orders ( 1 ton of rock and adding trimming of 3 small trees being trimmed from the ground) was $3725.00. I will never hire your contractors again, regardless of the review. I feel the reviews are not correct for your company or your partner company.

Took way too long to do the work, waited over a month after paying for part of the work, Contract called for tilling the packed soil and then put down mulch and seed, Did not till the soil just put down mulch with seed. The rest of the work was ok built a small retainer wall and put mulch and seed around the base of the tree,
