I brought it in to see what they could do. They told me, I would need a new hard drive, and that it would be very expensive, and they recommended I buy a new computer. They then showed me to the new computers. It's so was quick, and really embarrassing. It seemed like that was their goal, to sell me another computer.

I refused their offer and took the computer to a friend. He works in the IT field. He had the computer fixed within an hour. It worked just fine after that.

The date is an estimate. It was a few years ago in the Spring of 2013.

You can never actually get service.  I logged a service call for help with our laptop and 8 hours later still didn't have any tech assistance.  If you keep calling they tell you they can not do anything to actually get you connected to a tech.  This has happened the last 3 times I've placed service calls over the past 8 months.  I still have all the same issues and nothing has been resolved.  We even tried taking the computer in for service and after being without it for 4 weeks, it came back with more issues and nothing fixed!

The service went well. They were not able to resolve a portion of the problem so I was not charged for what they did. I really appreciated that. The technicians did great work and were knowledgeable. I had no problem scheduling them out for the service.

This is the email I sent to [email protected] after speaking with a "customer service manager." 
 
On May 10th my son purchased a Nikon Coolpix s5200 camera.  It was defective.  He bought it to take pictures at a very special event only to have the pictures come out blurry.  I called customer service to get my son's money back because the camera is DEFECTIVE! The customer service rep I talked to refused to tell me how to get my money back.  I was told that since it has been past 15 days I had no recourse. He purchased the camera to take pictures of a meeting he had with an archaeologist, geologist and paleontologist.  He wanted  to document the meeting he had with them to discuss the excavation of a mastodon that he found on a farm we own in northeast Oklahoma.  The meeting had been postponed due to weather so he was unable to use the camera until after the 15 day return limit. I asked to speak to a supervisor.  The supervisor refused to give my son's  money back.  She also said that she was as high as I could go and that I would have to send a letter to corporate office because she was as high as I could go (the next highest up person was the Vice President and President.).  I was also told that your corporate office doesn't have a phone number.  With this type of business practice I can see why you would instruct your customer service agents to sputter such tripe.  The fact of the matter is I am not stupid.  You sold a DEFECTIVE camera and my son deserves his money back.  If we do not receive his money back I will be posting a blog on Angie's List as well as contacting the Johnson County District Attorney's Office of Consumer Affairs.  It is unconscionable to steal a customer's money this way.  I expect a prompt reply to his message.  I expect this to be resolved to our satisfaction.  Let me clue you in on something...THIS IS A CLASSIC WAY TO LOSE CUSTOMERS.  YOU'VE JUST LOST 3.   I have neither the time nor the patience for this garbage.   SM

I ordered to have a geek come-out to my home. I talked with the manager in person, so that I would be sure they would understand my needs. I was on-time for the scheduled appointment, but the "geek" showed up an hour late. He informed me that they work in a window of time. Furthermore, the geek sent out was only able to help me with my computer needs. I complained to the store and they sent out another man to take care of my VCR and instructing me how to use it. He really helped me out; I appreciated his help. I feel like I had someone who wasn't honest with me, regarding servicing customers during a window of time. Both of the geeks were wonderful and outstanding. They were quick and knew exactly what to tell me.

When laptop was brought in, I was quoted a completion date of 9/27/08 to retrieve all data, though I was warned if the damage was extensive that they might have to send the hard drive out and that would require more time. The original technician was very thorough and seemed very knowledgeable. I was assured that Geek Squad would contact me when the project was finished. Several days after the originally estimated date of 9/27, I called the store to get a status update and was told that it had been completed several days prior, and they couldn't explain why I had never been called. When the data retrieved was reviewed it was only a third (or less!) of the files that we knew to be on the laptop. After further discussions with a new technician he thought that he might be able to find more files by running a different set of programs, and asked that I leave the laptop with him and he'd get to it that day. He assured me someone would call the next day when completed. At late morning of the next day, I still had heard nothing so I called in. This new technician said nothing had been done to the laptop since I had been in the store, which explained the lack of a call, but he couldn't explain why nothing had been done. He offered to try to retrieve the additional data and assured me he too would call back. He called back one hour later to tell me that he had found a large amount of files (pictures, worksheets, and Turbo Tax!) and he would burn this off to a CD immediately. He called when this process was completed and I successfully got all of our data back.

They kept the computer longer than they told me. It was sloppy work. They corrected one of the problems that I had. When I connected back, I couldn't retrieve Internet service. They left a CD disk of their own in my computer. Overall, extremely sloppy.

THIS WASHER & DRYER ARE EXCELLENT. THE SALES PERSON WAS SURPRISINGLY KNOWLEDGEABLE & HELPFUL. WHAT IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST THING, THOUGH, IS THE SERVICE PLAN. WE HAD A FLUKE PROBLEM WITH THE WASHER. WHEN THEY COULDN'T FIX IT, THEY BROUGHT OUT A WHOLE NEW ONE. NO QUESTIONS & NO HASSLE WHATSOEVER. THE NEW ONE HAS HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL & IS NOW 3 YEARS OLD.
