DAD's Siding & Windows Inc

Alan, the owner, measured for the windows in early summer and gave us an estimate. When we had the money available for the job, we called him and he ordered the windows in August. Once the windows arrived, in September, he let me know that he had a cancellation of a job and would be able to install them right away.  He arrived in the morning and got to work removing the old windows. Within a short time, he let us know that the siding/window trim hadn't been done completely around the windows in the past, when the siding was installed (by another company and for a previous homeowner). He hadn't seen this when he gave the estimate, because the old storm windows covered it up. Since this one-man company also offers siding, Alan was able to give us a price for completing the additional work on a future day. Alan finished installing the windows that day, and then came back in October to finish the rest. We are completely satisfied with the work. Alan does a good job installing and doesn't leave a mess or a bunch of work (such as trim work or painting) for the homeowner to do afterward. For this price, he installs a complete window and screen.  In several large windows he installed tempered glass for safety and to make sure they are up to code.  I gave him a B in professionalism NOT because of shoddy workmanship, but only because of confusion getting a contract for the windows. He made a mistake and e-mailed me a contract for a job he had performed for us a couple of years ago. But his computer skills have nothing to do with the quality of windows. Alan has worked for us various times, and he is very honest and someone I trust to be in my home, even if I can't be there the entire time.

We were having our house painted when the pained told us that he could see into the house from the outside from an improperly installed window. We had 4 different window people come out to get bids. It turned out that there was a reason we were using space heaters in the winter....terrible windows and many installed wrong!! This house was built in 1998!!!!
After obtaining 4 bids, we were shocked at the cost variation between companies. We went with Alan and had him replace ALL our windows and doors using Marvin Windows. We could not be more thrilled with our decision. Alan replaced all the sills with a poly product to avoid wood rot along with installing our new windows.
Anyone that I have recommended using Dads Windows have loved their experience with Alan.

Problem with windows not staying open, balance piece needed replacement. Alan reviewed problem, gave estimate, came back with correct part, fixed all three windows in 20 minutes. On time, estimate accurate, clean-up complete. Great job!

Alan is great to work with. His bid was very reasonable. He is punctual and meticulous. If there was any question regarding what I wanted, he asked. He is a member of BBB and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce. Trustworthy, good work, good price. Worked with me to reduce cost. Also took it in stride and worked with me when I changed a plan in the middle of the job. Again, he's great to work with, I would recommend him to anyone. He's a one man crew.
