I absolutely love my kitchen redo! Mike and Cabinet Reface do so much more than refacing cabinets. They do reface cabinets beautifully. The cabinet doors are wonderful and the white refacing is gorgeous and has held up so well for the past two years. Mike worked with me on color, which was very helpful. He also built new drawers and shelves in my cabinets and made a new overhead space for our microwave. The new factory-fired wood doors are beautiful -- and have held up so much better than a custom bathroom cabinet we had made by another contractor who hand-painted them.  They also moved a cabinet and shelf. They were very creative and helpful. I highly recommend them! Refacing was much less expensive than all new cabinets, which we didn't need.
I love being in my kitchen. I'm so glad we did it.
Love it!

They were very professional, timely and did quality work. They came back for a few minor touchups and gave us a one year warranty on all work. This was a big job and it was messy although they cleaned the work site throughly at the end of each day. Mike warned us in advance of the mess but the end results were amazing. It totally transformed our kitchen and look great.

"[Member Name Removed] I apologize for the delay in responding to you We have done outstanding work for our clients that hire us, as attested by the top reviews that we have on Angie's List, and the many NARI REMY awards that our company has won, including a national award in 2015, that an increasing number of potential cients have asked us to do work for them. Many of these have been from "word of mouth" as one happy client tells another one. We have been blessed with our existing clients calling us back to do repeat projects. All of this results in some capacity and manpower challenges because we can't always get back with potential clients as soon as we would like to. We can solve this by hiring a follow up person but experienced people who meet our quality standards are very difficult to find. We would rather take longer to get back to clients than to sign up as many jobs as we can and let the quality of the work suffer. Thank you in advance for understanding our commitment to quality work. When we met, you were clear that you did not want a new kitchen layout, and did not want to invest in new cabinetry, which therefore did not require a new kitchen design. We agreed to not do the 3D kitchen design and agreed that we would take the path of updating your kitchen, using the existing cabinetry and layout. We decided to have my flooring supplier look at your floor, as it was apparent that there was water damage to the wood floor in front of the sink. This was part of the delay as my wood flooring supplier was swamped with projects. If you like, I will follow up with them again to ask them to come to your house to examine the floor and discuss a plan of action to fix this. I left a phone message for you and will wait for your return call. Please let me know as soon as possible and I will give you a priority appointment time. Thank you very much."

Pathetic.  The "deal" was for a cad drawing.  Instead I paid him to do an informal ballpark estimate to refurbish our kitchen and bathroom cabinets.  When he was at our house I mentioned to him that I thought it strange that I was essentially paying him to give me an estimate to do work for us.  I have never done that before.  Furthermore, we had to remind him several times to give us his estimate which wound up being in the form of an email (no formal quote - why did he bother to come out?) that ranged in cost by thousands of dollars.  This poor experience has made me much more skeptical of the Angie's List "deals".  Haven't done one since and may never again.
Response from CabinetReface Kitchens & Bathrooms
"[member name removed], to respond to your comments: When I was at your house, you told me that you did not need a CAD drawing. You explained that you were not changing the layout of your kitchen or bathroom and, therefore, did not require a drawing. I have had other potential clients from Angie's List sign up for this "big deal" and did not require the drawing but wanted an estimate. I understood that this is what you wanted, an estimate. You said you were doing some of the work yourself, such as taking out the wood "bump out" sofft area. Further, you said you were not in a position to do the work at this time but wanted an estimate for options for work for your kitchen and bathroom so that you could have it to use to decide what to do in the future. I provided an estimate for the work you described to me. The work we would do ranges in price depending on what products we might install. Since no specific products were picked out, I provide an range, an estimate, not an exact price. I sent you an estimate in an email. I also provided suggestions for redoing your kitchen and bathroom when I visited with you. I did what you asked for. What else do you want that I can help you with?"

"[member name removed], my apologies for not following up with you after our initial visit. Right after I visited with you, we took a short family vacation. After we arrived back from vacation, we had some personal and family issues that came up, requiring me to be out of state. These, along with the demand for our kitchen and bathroom remodeling services, (much of this as a result of the high ratings we have from Angie's List members that we have done work for), put me well behind schedule. I called recently to follow up and left a phone message. I will follow up again today. Thank you for your patience."

The shelves are of high-quality. They are working splendidly and I really like them.  I will refer this company to anyone who would want any type of cabinet work done.

The subcontracted painter came late and did not do as well as expected. The rest of the project went well.  The subcontractor installed extra back splash tile that was not in the original contract and did a great job.  I completed the final touch up items for the extra work that the tile contractor completed.
Response from CabinetReface Kitchens & Bathrooms
"[Member name removed], Glad you are satisfied with the project, and with the added work we did by adding a custom cabinet under the desk. Yes, the painter was one day late due to other work that he had, and we apologize for this. We followed up with added caulking and painting touch up to make sure you were satisfied. Thanks again."

Overall, very good experience. Mike is honest and hardworking. His subcontractors are not always on-time or totally thorough but generally also do good work. The kitchen looks beautiful.

The experience went well and we are very pleased. They did a very good job. They made one slight mistake but they responded to that. I didn't notice the mistake but they called me and told me about it. I did not have to approach them. I am very pleased with the way they handled everything.

It went well and looks beautiful. One of his guys accidentally put a ding into my new stainless refrigerator and Mike's insurance covered the cost of replacement and installation of a new door. I was very pleased with the work performed by Mike's subcontractors. As a matter of fact, I contracted one group to redo my bathroom.

Worker was on time and confirmed exactly what I expected of him to do. He was careful to protect my cabinets, stove and microwave before starting the job. The vent was installed perfectly.

Mike gave us several ideas to make our kitchen better by using his computer to let us see his previous work.He also gave us suggestions about how to make our shelving and drawer guide systems much better than they had been before. His started a 8 AM, worked all day, each day, and cleaned up the kitchen before leaving. The kitchen was sealed with plastic so that dust did not get into the rest of the house during the construction. Mike and his carpenter were real craftsmen. Doors aligned perfectly, seams matched, drawers and glides worked perfectly before he want on to the next detail. I am very happy I picked a real craftsman in getting this kitchen makeover. It was a good value for my money.

I would HIGHLY recommend Mike to anyone, friend, family, and acquaintance. He was professional, courteous, prompt and reasonably priced. I got a quote from another contractor to do the same thing for well over two times what Mike charged for the job and the scope of Mike's work was more extensive that the other guy. There was a slight delay in fabrication of the countertops by Mike's vendor, but he kept us informed and updated regularly. Once the materials arrived, all the work, start to finish was completed in less than three days, with minimal inconvenience or interruption of the use of our kitchen. In fact, the sink was only out of commission for one evening mostly due to the fact that the old, occluded plumbing needed to be replaced and a trip to Home Depot was needed at the end of the day. Additionally, cleanup was performed at the end of each day well enough that my family had the use of the kitchen during the evenings.

I did not know whether or not we could match new doors to the existing wood stain on the cabinets. I thought we were going to either have to paint the cabinets white or replace all the cabinetry. It was a perfect match and we saved about $8,000 if we would have had to replace cabinets. I recommend Mike if you like personal attention and you have the time for the craftsmanship. Others may get the job done faster, but you will probably not get the quality you want.
