BNC National Bank - Overland Park

We worked with Trent Green, whom we already knew.  He was professional, responsive, and kept on top of the process the whole time, letting us know when he had things and what else he still needed.  He even kept on top of  last-minute chaos (generated by our seller) during breaks in a Friday evening rehearsal.  (Did I mention he's a gifted baritone?)  We were in a category that doesn't fit in the usual boxes- only a year post-retirement, eminently solvent but relying substantially on investment income (in addition to SS).  Trent was able to get the deal approved, in plenty of time for the closing.  Our realtor also said he was easy to work with.

Worked with Gary Hiatt, Senior Loan Officer, via phone and email starting Nov 2012. Jumped through several administrative hoops until early Jan 2013. Throughout Dec he told me closing was scheduled for 1st week in Jan. There was one delay after another on his end, at one point I had to have a real estate attorney we used on a prior matter provide legal info/education to their title company who was misinformed and held the process up even more. When loan info was submitted to his underwriter and then plugged into ?? that is used by the secondary market, he included business rent expense as personal rent, which made our debt to income ratio incorrect. By the time it was all said and done, we got a denial letter in Apr 2013 based on # 1 info that Gary was given in Nov 2012, which he should have informed us would lead to a denial and # 2 our ratio being too high becasue of how our financial info was inputted into some system that they could not amend.
I paid for a termite inspection and apprisal. After several emails and phone calls, finally speaking with and explaining the situation to the Branch Manager, I was able to get 1/2 of the appraisal cost reimbursed. The entire experience was a waste of my time and money and resulted in BNC pulling our credit 2-3 different times before we were done, so it caused our credit scores to go down as well. Bottom line: Gary Hiatt identified himself as a Senior Loan Officer, yet did not provide us with the level of service that one would expect from a Senior Loan Officer.

They were excellent. Even though it was all done long-distance, they were great to work with. Lynda Gieseke was my mortgage representative, and she was very helpful. I did a lot of research on mortgage companies, and these were the best.
