We had called a roofer and he was here early and set up ladders to inspect the roof. He inspected the roof and explained that there was enough damange on our roof to grant a new roof. He explained that there only needs to enough damage in a "square" of the roof to determine a whole roof if needed, and there was enough damage on our roof. Then the Allstate man, (with an attitude) came. He did not ring the door bell, I just happened to see him walking around outside. He introduced himself as, "I'm Allstate". He brought his own "ladder" man and all three men went up on the roof. When the Allstate man came down off the roof he spoke with us and stated that he and the roofer did not agree. Although our roof has several " weak spots" and " hail damage" and needs to be replaced Allstate would not pay for our roof. I asked if they were going to repair the shingles and roofing parts that had fallen off all over the driveway and he stated "no". He had no idea what happened to that part of our roof, but they wouild not fix it, either. We don't know what happened either, we went out the garage door and the roofing shingles and paper and plastic stuff was everywhere. We have had Allstate on this house for over 24 years and the Allstate man stated our roof has outlasted the 20 years it should have, and you need a new roof. I don't understand why they would not fix the roof when we have paid for the insurance so they would fix any thing that is wrong, and then when there is something wrong, they won't fix it. They have taken our money for over 24 years without any questions, and have called and thanked us for being such loyal customers. What a lie. This is unbelievable. I thought Allstate was good and my mother has had Allstate all of her life and she is 91, we have had Allstate on most of our houses since 1967. We have trusted them for over 40 years and now find out they are not trustworthly. I contacted another roofer and notifed Allstate that we wanted another inspection. They denied our request. I didn't understand because, the Allstate man with he attitude, told us the process we needed to do to get another inspection with an "IMPARTIAL APPRAISER, NOT FROM ALLSTATE". When I explained this to the 2nd roofer he said he would call and speak with the manager. He did and low and behold Allstate granted another inspection. I thought this was suppose to be by an "IMPARTIAL APPRAISER, NOT FROM ALLSTATE" as stated in their letter we received, but then the man came he introduced himself as "...,Claims Service Adjuster from Allstate". Well to my surprise he denied the roof, saying there was not enough hail damage. The 2nd roofer I had called this time was an expert in Thornton Rule for house insurance, and he had brought a copy of the latest "hail storm" that came through our neighborhood and it shows hitting our house. But Allstate still denied our claim. This roofer also stated to us that there is enough hail damage in one "square" of the roof that the insurance should pay for the roof. I don't understand how two roofers can see enough hail damage when Allstate can't, they must look with their blinders on. This adjuster, and his ladder man did at least look at the damage that had caused the claim in the first place, all the shingles and roofing missing above our garage but oh, my they didn't know what caused the damage. Maybe a limb fell from a tree, nope sorry no limbs are missing. Maybe the aliens did it??? They had no clue what happened, and we don't know either but Allstate isn't going to fix it. Why does there have to be a reason for something to be broken, it is broken fix it. They can see the damage. That is what we have been paying Allstate for for the past 24 years but because they don't know why it is broken they won't fix it. I am very disappointed with Allstate. I thought they were suppose to insure our property, well they didn't. I can say without a doubt that " YOU ARE -- NOT-- IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE" so stay far far away.
Description of Work: "YOU ARE --NOT-- IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE" A man with an attitude from Allstate came to inspect the property loss of our roof. He did not ring the door bell, I just happened to see someone walking in the front yard and went outside. He and his "ladder man" and our roofer went up on the roof. When the Allstate man came down he expalined that you have "weak spots" on your roof and you do infact need a new roof, but Allstate would not pay for it. We asked why and he said there is not enough "hail damage". We asked why, when other houses (the house next door) and up the street had gotten new roofs in the past months, how could our house not have enough damage? He didn't know. He stated he would send us a letter and if we disagreed we could make demand for an appraisal. We would select an appraiser and notify Allstate and they would select an "IMPARTIAL APPRAISER, NOT FROM ALLSTATE" to come and reinspect our roof. We waited for the letter. Once received I contacted another roofing company and explained what we needed, and they new the process, and told me to contact Allstate. I did and was denied even though that is what it said to do in their letter. I contacted the roofing company again, and the manager called Allstates manager and they granted another inspection. When the apprasier came he was in the form of an "Allstate Claims Service Adjuster" not the " IMPARTIAL APPRAISER, NOT FROM ALLSTATE" that was expected. Needless to say he did not agree that we had enough "hail damage" to grant us a new roof.
