HIATT'S PAINTING & PAPERING

Mr. Hiatt was eager to accept the project of painting the entire interior of the home that we moved from as preparation for placing the house on the market. Initially, Mr. Hiatt seemed pleasant. He called me to tell me that he had completed the work and we arranged to meet at the house on a Saturday. A quick walk-thru showed that half of the cabinets had not been painted, he forgot to paint two closets, the prep work was incredibly poor to the extent that one could actually see the underlying tape and there had not been any attempt to sand the roughness out of the mud work. Every room and every wall had paint runs and paint was on our woodwork EVERYWHERE! When I pointed out these multiple problem areas, Mr. Hiatt became quite defensive and began yelling (temper tantrum). He demanded to be paid in full and I subsequently only agreed to pay him 75% of the work until he finished the project in a more professional manner. The finished project was not much better. HE EVEN LOST OUR HOUSE KEY.
