We initially contacted Contemporary Pools to get an estimate on repairing our original pool pump. The drain plug in the pump housing broke off while we were trying to remove it. Because the age of the pump (it was 25 years old) and the cost to just replace the pump housing of $200 plus labor, we decided to replace the entire unit. My only criticism of the entire experience would be that we were not informed when we initially called that there was a $129 service call to just look at the pump. We may have elicited additional bids had we known this. The $129 was applied to the new pump installation.
