What an AWFUL experience. Took 5-6 months, which I knew up front, and the quality was fine, but not great; definitely not worth the cost or the frustration. DVDs had to be re-made multiple times. Clearly no quality control. Communication from technicians was ok, management was terrible; not at all customer focused. When cost increased due to additions, new cost was not communicated. Final invoice was a bit of a shock. If you are considering using them, don't!
Description of Work: Film transferred to DVD with multiple copies made of the DVD.

NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE unless you are only transferring something you do not mind losing, damaging or messing up. In mid March I brought 38 original home movies of my children growing up that I have carefully saved for 30 years, to be transferred to DVD's at the Prairie Village store. I did not want to mail them out to be done because they are so precious to me. Tina assured me that their equipment was the best, that these transfers would be safe, that there is a precise numbering system that prevents and loss or mixups, and that they could do it better than I could if I bought equipment. She also highly recommended that I pay the $200 more to make copies of each DVD. By April, the movies had not been transferred. By May I was concerned, and finally I could pick them up May 26. When I picked them up I went home to organize them and noticed: #1 There were NO duplicate copies made, #2 There were only 37 originals returned, NOT 38, #3 there was a mixup in some of the numbering between the originals and what were to be the matching DVD and #4, some originals were not copied at all, while some were copied and given 2 different numbers. I called Tina and she was not helpful. She said that she had no idea where one of my originals would be...that "maybe it was left in the Olathe store" because apparently my job was broken up and given to different people at different locations. I called the Olathe store and they did nothing. The attitude was, "oh well, too bad, if we find it, we'll call you." So I took the box to the Olathe store and met with the clerk there. I believe her name was Nataly. She was apologetic, and together we took 3 hours going over all the originals, and the copies, as well as checking that all the originals worked on their playing devices. She said they would probably find the missing one and she asked me to leave the DVD's they made so she could make the duplicates I did not receive, as well as some originals that were not copied in the first place. I was VERY concerned about doing this but she assured me she would take care of them herself and have them done by the end of the day. I went over at the end of the day (this store is NOT close to me) and they were not done. I went back the next day, and Tina was there. She was, as usual, not helpful and said they weren't done. They would call me when they were. One week later I went back in, and Tina, again was there. After a long search, she finally came out with one box. I went through it and said that originals were missing, and I was now upset. She basically scolded me and told me to be quiet. She then went back and searched again, in another room and came out with another box with the originals along with a note saying that NOW some of the originals---which WERE playable the week before--were not playable and could not be copied. No apology, no reimbursement, nothing. I went home in disgust. Then I noticed that not only were the originals they claimed not playable, but the first DVD that they HAD successfully made of one original in particular, was missing. So now on one of the tapes (#25) , an important one, I have #1) no usable original and #2) NO DVD that I gave them to duplicate. They lost the DVD that they originally HAD been able to copy and somehow ruined the original when they were trying to make a "better" copy of it. In addition, I was STILL MISSING some of the DUPLICATES. I'm disgusted. I will have to find a "real" professional company to see what I can salvage.

It is a very in-depth website. They don't take just any old template and plug your stuff in. He created it from the bottom up. I am a jeweler, and the website is catering to my type of business. Specialization and customization is what I thought gave him a lot of strength. I would use this provider again.
Description of Work: They helped me develop a website, and transfer slides to CD.

I loved it and they did a very good job. They had a deal in the paper and I tried them out. They were very professional and on time. They even did extra special stuff like putting stickers on my old videos so that I could keep a track of it. I was very pleased with them.
Description of Work: I used Something Different Video Prod for video duplication and transfer. I had some video tapes that I turned into DVD.

THis is still an ongoing saga--- 8 MM filmstrips were done promptly and done before christmas -- happy with them the rest of the order was going to take about 3 months (Feb) --- in May we got a call that it was ready. When I went to pick it up, they could not find my slide order, although the Hi-8 videocassette's were done. We expected a followup (none). We followed up and had to reexplain the problem and this lady did return a call to let us know that the slides weren't done yet and that they had been sent to north KC but they would be done within the month (it is now July) and we don't have them yet. Seems to be a lack of communication within this company.
Description of Work: We have asked them to put approx. 1,500 slides to dvd's, plus 8 mm film and Hi- 8 videocassette to digital video
