On the door did a good job on clearing and replacing brick molding, he did however leave exposed nail heads on door frame. He was professional and courteous and cleaned up after the work he did daily.
"[member name removed], I am sorry to just find out that you feel that way. I have never received a phone call alerting me of any of your concerns for a year since the services were completed. I am a professional siding contractor and was not aware there is a difference between cedar shingles for siding as opposed to cedar shingles for roofing, and am still not understanding what sounds like an accusation of wrong doing. If I had been contacted as to any of these concerns directly I would have promptly responded. I am sorry I had to find out about your disappointing experience with my company through Angie's List a year later."
I would most definitely recommed him to others.
The seam between large 2X12 inch cedar boards is barley detectable. Scott sealed the underside of the threshold on the door before installing it to assure durability. He used cedar to make sills to assure longevity. I saw him prime all sides of the new boards that he was installing, not just the side that is exposed.
At one point during the job, another contractor working down the block stopped to learn some of the techniques Scott used to rebuild windows.
"Thanks Member. I really enjoyed working on this job, as Jeff is a well educated home-owner. He realized the need to have repairs done to save his largest investment, his home. I believe the member had received prices for replacing all the rotted windows, but we were able to repair every one, without any full replacements, at a substantial savings. Jeff has older Shelter brand casement windows (along with standard double-hung), the sashes had rotted around the glass, along with other wood components of the window (sills, brickmould, etc). Fortunately, even though Shelter is out of business, I still have a supplier for the aluminum clad factory replacement sashes. The other parts had to be custom milled on-site. I find gratification in being able to do this type of work for a living and highly value all of my clients feedback. Thanks again. Scott Jones"
