IT TOOK ABOUT 6 WEEKS LONGER THAN WE WERE TOLD AND SOME DAYS THERE WERE NO WORKERS HERE AT ALL.. TWO BIG MISTAKES WERE MADE. EVEN THOUGH I GAVE RK SPEC SHEETS ON ALL THE APPLIANCES GOING IN, WHEN THE FRIG WAS INSTALLED THE CABINET DOOR AND DRAWER TO THE LEFT OF IT WOULD NOT OPEN ALL THE WAY. THEY BOTH WERE HITTING THE FRIG HANDLES. THERE WERE TWO COMPONENTS UNDER THAT COUNTERTOP AND I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE TO DELETE IN ORDER TO MAKE THAT SECTION WORK. I LOST VALUABLE SHELF STORAGE SPACE. THEN WHEN MY TRAVERTINE TILE FLOOR WAS INSTALLED, IT WAS UNEVEN. I COMPLAINED AND SUZY AND THE SUPERVISOR CAME TO CHECK IT OUT. THEY HIRED A COMPANY TO HONE IT AND EVEN IT OUT. IT'S IMPROVED, BUT NOT EVEN. BEV SAYS IT'S BECAUSE THE TILES I CHOSE ( MY FAULT) ARE NOT THE SAME THICKNESS, YET MY LEFTOVER TILES ARE THE SAME THICKNESS. WHEN I COMPLAINED TO SUZY ABOUT THIS, HER FINAL ANSWER WAS. "WELL---HE DID THE BEST HE COULD". NOBODY HAS YET TO COME AND CHECK THE WORK OUT. WHEN GUESTS COME TO OUR HOUSE, I TELL THEM WHO DID THE REMODEL AND LET THE WORKMANSHIP SPEAK FOR ITSELF. MY ADVICE, LOOK FURTHER.

We were completely new at remodeling and, because of our inexperience, needed to trust our contractor. .At the start of our project, Bev Gilbert, owner/contractor of Regarding Kitchens, was helpful and personable in her showroom, and she earned our trust. The majority of the work was subcontracted out, which is fine, as long as the contractor supervises their work and holds them and herself accountable.  We ended up having to point out numerous workmanship issues in the course of the project to Bev, and she became progressively defensive and unpleasant.    In addition, we found her to be disorganized, rarely followed up (there were two times in particular when she said she would be at our house, and then didn't show up and never called), was unapologetic (except at the very end of the project), and was reluctant to take responsibility for her subcontractors. Several times we were told by Bev that there was a "miscommunication" between her and the various subcontractor.  When advised of our concerns and  issues, she told us it was all to be expected and would be fixed.  One example (of many) of how quickly things deteriorated was the work being done in odd sequence under Bev's direction.  She had our new hardwood floors installed first, and then her  "staff " workmen came in and scratched and damaged the floors while moving the refrigerator back into the kitchen  (without putting down any protection on the new floor), necessitating refinishing and re-coating at the end of the project.  The new floor was also done before the counter top installation, appliances installation, backsplash, sink, plumbing, etc., who scratched the flooring as well.  We learned the hard way that this was not a normal sequence in a kitchen remodel.
Only after the project took twice the amount of time (4 weeks) promised, and numerous setbacks, was the kitchen finally finished to our general satisfaction  We would not recommend Bev Gilbert/Regarding Kitchens to anyone, whether you're experienced with remodeling or not.

I thought that they did a good job, but I was dissatisfied with the plumbers to whom they subcontracted the work.

They were really good about keeping us informed on the work and the workers were prompt. They did a good job and I would use them again.

It was as positive experience - or at least as good as it can be when you have to live without a kitchen for months.  Cindy Toohey was my designer and I enjoyed working with her.  She wasn't put off by my relatively "low" budget and worked with me when I requested changes to her original design plan.

Regarding Kitchens prices on cabinets and appliances were comparable to others I priced and I think the cabinet quality was better for the price.  As with all the companies I got bids from, labor/construction costs were high.  However, they were fine with the fact that I wanted my family to do the demo and electrical work and that I hired my own plumber to move some pipes around.  Some of the kitchen companies I interviewed required you to use their people for everything.

As a said, Cindy was great to work with and was very responsive.  Once the worked moved into install, Dave took over the job.  Although the quality of his work was good, I didn't enjoy working with him.  He has a very gruff manner and since I work from home it meant a lot of interaction.  I would have preferred that Cindy take a more hands-on role in managing his work through the install too.

I bought my appliances from Rob Stevens and didn't have any trouble - everything came on time and the installation teams were friendly and efficient.  Rob also worked with me on price a bit when I showed him that I'd gotten a lower quote on the refrigerator I wanted.  Otherwise their prices were about the same or better than what I found elsewhere.

In general, the whole process when pretty well and I'd recommend the company.

Overall it was okay.  I think the faucet they sold us was a little over priced.  They had a whole package which we used.  I think everything was fine.  They were good.  They were kind of expensive for probably what it was or may be it’s just the way it is.  I’m sure there are people who are more expensive than them.  Their punctuality and their after clean up were fine.  They did the job when they said they would and they cleaned up good.  They were a little pricey.  We would probably not use their services again in the future.

It went extremely well except for the contractor they used on the cabinets. We had multiple problems on the cabinets. Regarding Kitchens stood by us. They are like a general contractor and they hire different folks to do the work. They manage the whole project. The cabinet guy was kind of arrogant. The trim carpenter for Regarding Kitchens said it was not right when he hung the first cabinet. They were very good about following up and making sure they got it right. We might have been able to get a better price if we had been the general contractor. The trim carpenter was not always on time, but he had several jobs going at once.

They do quality work. They were here when they said they would be here. They kept to a schedule. If there were any problems they would fix them and they still will. They had good designs and they came up with some wonderful ideas for the master bathroom that had some problem areas. The cabinets are nice quality. They even tore out a fireplace and a bookcase, it was a huge job. They are pretty pricey. They were always punctual.
