We picked out a remnant piece from their yard.  They were supposed to install on Monday at 5 pm.  They called Monday at 5 (when they were supposed to install) and told me that the remnant I had picked out and paid for was not big enough for the vanity. They said they'd cut into a new slab for us at the same price, so I thought great.  The problem is, I'm pretty sure they installed a marble that was totally different than the one I had liked as a remnant.  I don't think this was intentional because they gave me remnant pricing while cutting into a new slab.  I could tell they were very nice people, but this was unacceptable.

The bottom line is, they told us they would arrive Monday, and they didn't show.  They said they'd come Tuesday, they didn't show.  They said they'd be there Wednesday (Christmas Eve) at noon, and showed up at about 2:00. They installed a different marble than we wanted, damaged my drywall and freshly painted wall during install, and didn't do a good job cleaning up the grout on the wall.  I couldn't help but wonder if they'd be happy with this installation in their own homes.  Their pricing was great, they were nice people, but I was unhappy with the finished product.  I didn't complain to them because the pricing was so good and the marble still worked with our décor, but I thought I'd save someone else the same experience.  If you choose to use Marionix, I caution you to be very specific in what you're looking for.

They were great from the time they showed up to do the estimate till the last piece of granite was laid. Very thorough in estimate drawing blue printing the area and measuring very professional all the way around. They were very punctual showed up exactly when they said they would be there really enjoyed speaking with them as they work where some people could care less about the actual customer they made it a priority. Overall the job looks great love the color they suggested they also installed a sink and it was perfect no complaints at all. I would not hesitate at all if I needed any type of work done that was in there spectrum. Thank you Marionix

At the time the company was in a transitional stage with a new business manager that was involved in writing up bids and bridging the language barrier with the owner, Marino, a native of Peru. Marion's previous job exposure in Peru with the stone industry in Peru, gives him vast knowledge in the types of stone, the strengths, character and overall performance. He is a very skilled craftsman in his trade. There were issues that occurred on the business side, probably due to cultural/language differences. We were very pleased with the job Marino did as the countertop angle and sink position to be completed in one granite piece wasn't an easy situation. He and his co-worker Camilo did a good job on the installation. It has been over a year and we haven't had any problems so far. Marino laid the tile backsplash, he and Camilo grouted it together. It turned out well and they cleaned up after themselves. The only thing I should have insisted on was using a sanded based matching caulk (same color as grout) on the base area, seams, and any wood/tile transition area. The sanded base colored caulk allows for expansion/contraction due to weather changes, settling or aging. I bought the caulk, they didn't think I needed to use it, so I didn't have them use it. About 6 mos. the weather changes and yes cracks in the places where the tile meets the granite, corners, or wood trim or cabinets hairline cracks appeared. So I purchased the sanded colored caulk that matched my grout color and caulked all those mentioned areas and it looks so much better, no more cracks. So anyone reading this review please keep this in mind on tiling projects whether wall tile or floor tile. We had used sanded caulk in transition areas i.e., along the thresholds and where tile met up with another material when we laid our kitchen, bath, and entryway tile years ago and still on cracks. Overall, when dealing with Marionix taking the time to make sure all communication and expectations are clear helps ensure a good experience. They need to relate exactly what they do, where one goes to pick out granite, tile, grout and caulk because that part was a little confusing. The skill and craftsmanship Marino and Camilo possess, is worth working through the language issues. Marino 's wife often mediates to clarify issues. Plus, I always feel if one treats the contractors with respect and try to accommodate them, they will in turn do a good job for you.
