The provider then cut off the old 4x4s posts from the wood fence at or above ground level. When I indicated this wasn't sufficient, they said they would do it better. Once they said they were done, I cut an additional 4-7 inches off of each one to get them below grade so that grass would grow above them.
The next issue is that we were given the impression that the work was complete, but the gates both had exposed primer that wasn't painted over.
The final issue is that there were probably at least 50 places where the OEM paint was disturbed/scratched/marred from. This is not an overstatement. The problem with this is that the fence manufacturer does a very sophisticated paint process to prevent corrosion and rust. The repair job a fence installer does, just isn't the same. I asked them to come back and touch-up the spots, and they did, but probably only one or two of them.At this point I was pretty frustrated, so I asked them to just give me a can of paint and I would take care of it. Scott didn't think I should have to be the one to take care of it, so he asked me to mark all the spots somehow and they would come out and paint them. I did so, although it would've taken the same amount of time to do the touch-up myself as it did to mark them. They then came back and did the touch up, and they did get all the places that I marked. Unfortunately, they left my tape on the fence, so I had to go back around and remove all of the blue painters tape I had applied showing them where the issues were. The good news is that they left me a free can of paint after this visit.
I gave this provider a B, overall, because despite these issues, they did work with me to try and make it right.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, they got concrete on the metal posts which looks poorly. I think this is common by fence installers, which is why I asked them specifically to be careful. They did wipe the concrete off of mine (they looked better than neighbors), but it certainly could've/should've been better.
