Kirk?s Remodeling was recommended by another company on Angie?s List. Donny Kirk came out to perform the estimate. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and asked what I preferred at every step in the process. The estimate was extremely competitive and I chose Kirk?s Remodeling to do the work. I had to wait a couple months for work to commence:; the shower bed had to be cast and also the company was completing other projects. When unexpected problems came up in these other jobs, my project was delayed further. I had to call to find out what the delays were. However, from that point on, I was very satisfied. Donny was more proactive in contacting me about the job and he bent over backwards to make sure I was happy. The project was scheduled to take 5 to 8 days, but since the work started the week of July 4, Donny did everything he could to make sure I had a working shower before the long holiday weekend. The removal of the old town and installation of the new shower and more quickly than expected and I was able to use the shower by July 3. The workmen were pleasant, friendly, and skilled. They put tarps down from the front door to the bathroom to spare the carpet. They removed all the debris and vacuumed periodically in the bathroom to keep it neat. After the work began. I realized I needed three grab bars installed instead of two. The change was made quickly and easily. At every point where choices had to be made, I was asked what I wanted. The painter even used sample paint colors to show me on the bathroom wall how the colors looked, so I could choose which one I wanted. I thought the painter would just paint around the shower stall but they painted the entire room. In addition, they painted a large spot in the living room for me where a repair has been made by someone else, and the paint used in the repair had not match. This was done just as a favor; they hadn?t done the repair and I hadn?t asked Kirk?s Remodeling to do the touchup work. They simply volunteered to do it. This was typical of the service provided. As work began, the installers noticed that the carpet was damp. This had been an intermittent problem. They found the toilet had hairline cracks at the base and they replaced the toilet for me at a very low cost. I have limited mobility and Donny suggested getting a slightly higher seat for the toilet, to make it easier to sit and stand. The newer model also was more water efficient. In addition, the installers moved my bidet from the old toilet to the new one. That all worked great. After the toilet was installed, the company also replaced the baseboards around the toilet that had been damaged by water leaks and affected by the installation of the shower. They chose boards that matched the other baseboards in the bathroom. One of the last things done in the project was to install the clear glass doors. Donny noticed that the chrome framing of the shower doors had a couple of scratches and he quickly replaced the frames and installed the doors for me. The shower looks beautiful, with white marble walls and clear glass doors that move easily on the track. The shower bed is textured and the grab bars are rock solid, so I have a great deal of confidence entering and exiting the shower. When the work was completed, the final cost was less than the estimate, even with all the additional work that was done and had not been included in the estimate. I was extremely satisfied with the work and would definitely turn again to Kirk?s for any remodeling work. I felt like I was treated like a favorite aunt, not just a customer, and I was impressed by Donny Kirk?s commitment to making sure I was treated fairly and was completely satisfied with the work. His crew reflected the same qualities. I really appreciated everything they did for me.
