Cory of Johnson County Appliance, Inc. is awesome. The unit was under extended warranty from Home Depot and the first company (Diamond) sent a repairman that was awful - came twice without fixing the unit. After I called Whirlpool Service and complained, they sent Cory who is not affiliated with Diamond. Cory diagnosed the problem, order the correct part, and once the part arrived, installed it in 30 minutes or less. HE DID A FANTASTIC JOB, FIXED MY PROBLEM AND WAS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL! I can't say enough nice things about him. His phone number is 913.631.5222. Call him for appliance repair in the Kansas City area!

2014: bottom oven door wouldn't close all the way, consequently the light stayed on, the oven was unusable. 7/21/14: two hinges were replaced at $194.46 Since I don't use the bottom oven, except for holidays and special occasions, I didn't open the door until right before Christmas. 3/18/15: Same problem occurred; serviceman replaced two hinges. $196.20. Again did not open the oven door until I was using both ovens for an event in May, and again it wouldn't close. 5/12/15: Hinges replaced. Cost $107.91 TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS $498.57 November 26 (Thanksgiving Day) door again wouldn't close all the way. i contacted the owners recently. Because of the warranty having expired, they were unwilling to help. However, I think in the interest of good customer service there should at least have been some adjustment in cost due to the following: 1. The frequency of recurrence 2. No adjustment on any of the bills (when I called after the first time, I expected that the cost of repair would be reduced somewhat - that didn't happen) 3. I assumed that, if the problem was either non-repairable or the cost would be too great to warrant a repair, I would be told that by the serviceman. That didn't happen. 4. The last service call, May 12: I called for a repair again, because I thought that it was possible the installation was faulty, and it might be an easy fix. It was hard for me to believe that each of these times it was exactly the same problem. The serviceman again said the hinges would need to be replaced. I expressed concern that it might happen again, since it had so many times before. He said that there had been some faulty hinges, but that these should be fine. When I pressed him about that, he said they would be fine, and I wouldn't have this problem again. The oven is 10 years old, and I assumed that he would tell me if it wasn't worth getting repaired. 5. As of this time, it still is not fixed. I still have the door closed with packing tape wrapped around the door and the side wall, so that the light will shut off. The upper oven, though not terribly dirty (as I mostly use a microwave), could use cleaning, but I am fearful of trying to use the clean cycle, due to the lower oven problem. Each time I called the store, I got a disinterested response to my problem - no attempt at being understanding. I finally asked for the owner's address to send a letter, and it turns out they are not local - though a son-in-law manages this store. The owner's response to my letter was that they found no service bulletins indicating the hinge had a known manufacturing defect. I only know that the serviceman told me they did have that defect...I of course would have no knowledge of service bulletins. She also responded that she has no explanation of what happens each time I use my oven. I had already told her in my letter to her that I did not use the lower oven. I have had virtually no problems with my oven prior to that, and the upper oven door has never had that problem. I have been aware that it is unwise to place anything on an open oven door, and I have never done that. In addition, as stated above, I didn't even open the oven door in between the times I found the problem. My mistake...if I had, I would have found the problem before the warranty ran out. Granted, it is an older oven, but again, had I been told by the serviceman that it wasn't worth fixing, I wouldn't have had it fixed. As consumers, we have to rely on the trustworthiness of those we hire to do work for us.

"I received a letter from Ms. [Member Name Removed] on May 22, 2016, five days shy of one year since the last time we serviced her product. As I explained to Ms. [Member Name Removed] I understand her frustrations with the oven door issues. However, on each of the dates service was requested the manufacturer was only offering a 90-day part warranty. Johnson County Appliance offers a 30-day service call warranty on same problem go-backs. Each time Ms. [Member Name Removed] requested service the warranty periods had expired except one. On that one instance we did replace the oven door hinges with no charge for the parts as they were still under the 90-day part warranty. After receiving Ms. [Member Name Removed]'s letter on May 22, 2016, 5 days shy of one year, I did researched the manufacture's service website for any updated service bulletins on her oven and found no known defect on the oven door hinges. To date this is the only oven Johnson County Appliance, Inc has ever had to put three sets of door hinges on in a one year period. I have no explanation as to what is happening to cause the door to not close properly. Johnson County Appliance, Inc has been standing behind their service work for 59 years by offering customers a 30 service warranty for the repairs we provide. Since we do not manufacture the product or the repair parts we feel this is a fair warranty as most issues will reappear within this time period."

My refrigerator was pumping water onto my floor during the defrost process.  Whirlpool agreed to pay for the parts if I would have a Whirlpool authorized repairman complete the repairs.  I scheduled an appointment with Johnson County Appliance.  Cory arrived on time and began working on the fridge.  Unfortunately he found that the the evaporation pan was cracked and would also leak water on the floor if it wasn't replaced.  He ordered a new pan and returned a week later.  He moved the fridge carefully so the hardwood floors wouldn't be damaged and made the repairs.  Cory was on time, professional and made the repairs without problems.  I'll use him in the future.

Great Experience. Called the place where we purchased the appliance and besides the price I was quoted for them to even look at the appliance, they couldn't come for over 2 weeks. Called Jo Co Appliance and they came out the next day. Had to wait a little bit for parts, but the came back out and had it fixed in 20 mins. Will absolutley call them again.

We called and left a message and were called back promptly.  They scheduled us for a Monday appointment.  They called early on Monday to tell us what time they would arrive and arrived on time.  The technician was here for about 30 minutes, was very friendly and efficient.  He diagnosed the problem and provided information on the board that was bad as well as recommendations for our next oven purchase.   The price quoted for the replacement board was reasonable but my husband prefers to do repairs himself when possible, so once we had confirmation that it was going to be the $200+ controller board, we decided to order the board ourselves and replace it.

The appointment with Cory went smoothly. He arrived within the 2 hour estimated timeframe on a Thursday afternoon and came back the next day with the parts. The refrigerator and washer now work perfectly, and I was surprised by the lower than expected total cost of the parts and labor. I would hire him again and highly recommend his services.

Contacted Corey regarding installation of a dishwasher I purchased.  Sears wanted $150 for installation.  Corey quoted me $125.  He even consulted with me as I was making my purchase decision regarding the brand of dishwasher he would recommend.  I took that info and checked Consumer Reports and decided that he was right....Consumer Reports rated the Kitchenaid highly.  He came out on the day requested and was right on time.  He did a nice job of installing the dishwasher....works great.  I have used Corey several times in the past and would highly recommend his service.
