The tech cleaned up both computers quickly, installed additional RAM which was necessary as the computers were several years old and I did not want to spend additional $$$$$ purchasing new pc's as I merely use them for fun use at home and on trips and occasional ordering on the internet. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of the work as the pc's are running faster and better than ever. The tech even installed free antivirus etc. software and got rid of my Norton which is a memory eater. He also, uninstalled most of my startup activities that were eating up the memory. Great job at a good price. Again, extremely satisfied and would recomment this service to anyone with a slow running computer who wants an inexpensive fix that will last. Thanks for the recommendation. Again, as a reminder, the $180.00 was the total cost for 2 service visits, $80 for the laptop and $100 for the cpu repairs. Actually, cheap by any definition.

I phoned Hometech Installation approximately two weeks prior to the install date. I left a voice mail message asking for a return call to discuss my job and schedule an installation date. I promptly received a call back from Mark Miller within twenty minutes. I described the work that I wanted done and he explained to me that it would be approximately two weeks to get an installation date. He seemed very pleasant and sincere and so I scheduled an in-home estimate and installation date for 2/15/2010 at 8:30 A.M. I arranged my work schedule around the dates that he gave me. On 2/15/2010, I was anticipating the arrival of Hometech Installation to do the work as pre-scheduled. At approximately 8:45 A.M., Hometech had not arrived at my home so I phoned to find out if they were running late. I got a voice mail so I left a message saying I was waiting for them to arrive and requested a return phone call so I would know what the situation was. They did not arrive and I did not receive a return call. An hour went by, so I phoned Hometech again and this time the phone was answered by someone named, Ron. I told him who I was and asked when the technicians would be arriving for my long past 8:30 A.M. scheduled installation appointment. He basically said that their computer shedule had been lost. I asked him if that meant that no one was coming to my appointment because they are already on another job and he said yes. I reiterated that I had made arrangements to be off work today so that I could have the installation done as scheduled. He replied that they could not come today and just asked what other day might work this week. The most frustrating part about it was that he didn't even seem sincerely apologetic for the inconvenience of the company being a no call no show!!! For most working people, just "re-scheduling" for a different day isn't that easy! I was planning on using Hometech because of their positive rating on Angie's List and a recommendation I received from SureWest Cable Installers. I realize that scheduling errors can occur, but I was very disappointed in the unprofessional way this situation was handled by Ron at Hometech. I explained to him that I would be fine with them coming later in the afternoon or evening after they completed their other job. I was told that there was no way they could do the work on the day I had a scheduled appointment for. I can't rate the actual work that I hired them to do since they didn't bother to show up to do the job! I will now have to hire another company and wait another week or two to get my work done!

"The member is correct in that we did miss her scheduled appointment. As we explained to her we were trying a new online scheduling system which failed. No excuses but it happend and we are currently back to our old scheduling system in which this has never happened in the past. We did apologize to her for her inconvience and offered to go out the next day to perform the estimate and she declined. We are only human and our intentions were not to have this happen but they did in which again we apologized for and that is really all you can do on this situation. We took the computer into their shop and left it for a day for them to look at. When we came back that evening they had told us it was due to an old printer we had hooked up to the computer. We weren't really impressed with them. The tech seemed rude and they didn't fix the problem. They told us to unhook the printer which we did and are still having problems. We ended up taking it somewhere else.

"AS YOU CAN SEE WE DID NOT CHARGE HER FOR THE FREE DIAGNOSTIC. SHE BROUGHT IT INTO OUR SHOP AND WE TESTED IT HERE AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING PERFECT. THE HONEST COMPANY WE ARE WE CALLED HER AND EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS WORKING PERFECT HERE AND THAT WE FOUND NOTHING WRONG AND THAT IT MUST BE SOMETHING AT HER HOUSE THAT SHE IS PLUGGING INTO IT THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I COULD SHE IF SHE WAS UPSET THAT IF SHE PAID US AND WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR DIAGNOSTICS. WE CANNOT HELP IF IT WORKS FINE HERE AT THE SHOP AND IT IS NOT DOING WHAT THE CUSTOMER STATES IT IS DOING. THEY SAID IT WOULD NOT BOOT INTO WINDOWS AT ALL, AND WHEN WE PLUGGED IT IN HERE AT THE SHOP IT LOADED WINDOWS PERFECT."

Never more satisfied with work from all aspects. The representative called me from his truck on the way to our house to confirm time and directions. When he arrived, he outlined what he would do, gave me the price, and went to work. I had cut some wires on the side of the house thinking they were no longer needed, and in the process I disabled our conventional phone system. He diagnosed the problem quickly and re-wired the phone system. We also had "extraneous wiring" on the side of the house for our cable network. He installed a new cable and hid the wiring under the siding, also reconfigured the splitters giving us much faster cable modem speed. Both our conventional phone system and our cable modem network now operate much more effectively, and the side of our house looks "crisp and clean". I could not recommend this company more highly.

The technician arrived when expected, listened carefully to our request, and set about networking our computers. Since we were being charged a flat fee, not a time charge, he carefully explained everything he was doing, and why, taking as much time as needed to be sure we understood. When finished, he checked to see that things were operating correctly and asked if we had any further questions he could handle. It's been a week since his call on us, and everything he did is operating smoothly. The flat fee was $110.00 and we would definitely hire his technology services again.

We were very impressed and have not had a problem since. They picked up and delivered the computers for no extra charge and were very informative and answered all questions thoroughly. And for the amount of hours that they worked on them, we were grateful for the reasonable price. We will definitely call them if we run into any problems in the future (although I hope we don't have to!).

Great customer service! Mark Miller, the owner, came to my house on a Sunday to recover data from my crashed hard drive and place it on an external drive, only charged $50. Later, after a new hard drive was installed, Mark came back to my house and reinstalled my data and programs - for another $50. Following all of this work, I also purchased a new printer/fax/scanner from Mark at a very competitive price - one of his employees came to my house and installed it for no extra charge. Mark is a very knowledgable technician and this is a great new company. I hope to do all of my computer business with him from now on.

When Mark returned the tower it was like having a new computer. He spent a total of about 2.5 hours at my home counting both trips, plus the time it took him to clean my hard drive and reload programs at his office. He gave me a lot of information I didn't know about XP and made some suggestions about virus protection. Liked knowing the price in advance. He also left me a new mouse pad with his logo & phone number. Check out his website. Frieda talks and follows your pointer with her eyes! Mark designed the site. Very talented young man.

KEVIN WAS GREAT! THESE GUYS ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL. THEY WERE ON TIME, EXPLAINED THINGS IN LAYMEN'S LANGUAGE, AND BASICALLY GOT MY SYSTEM SET UP AND WORKING IN NO TIME. PLUS KEVIN GAVE SOME FREE ADVICE ABOUT MY STEREO SYSTEM AND I PLAN ON HAVING THESE GUYS BACK TO INSTALL NEW EQUIPMENT WHEN I GET IT.
