During the summer of 2017, Gordon energy and Drainage did some water remediation for me both in the basement and in the garage. The basement repairs were "sort of OK" but I did later have to have someone come out and put in a sump pump and french drains extending quite a ways out into the yard because occasionally there would still be water in the basement during periods of heavy rain. While they did make the problem better, it was not corrected. I was concerned in the summer of 2018 that the "boards" put up against the concrete of the basement were pulling away from the concrete. They came out to look at it & assured me that all was well and that having someone else work on it wouldn't void my warranty with them. It really wasn't "well" in spite of a rather hefty bill and their assurances that the problem was fixed. As I said earlier, I had to have another company come out to install a sump pump and extensive french drains in order to totally correct the problem. At the same time of the initial basement "fix", they also "fixed" a leakage problem in the garage when it rained excessively. At the time we had a renter in the house. He neglected to tell me that the garage was still leaking copious amounts of water. Since that time, the renter has left and we are preparing the house for sale. Obviously, these water issues MUST be remedied before the house can be put on the market. Since the work was warranted, I was sure when I called this morning to report extensive rain leaking into the garage that they would immediately send someone out to AT LEAST take a look at it if not actually fix it. Imagine my shock when I was told that their "evaluation team" is shut down until July 1st and to call back on that day. I was virtually speechless. I made sure that the receptionist understood that this was NOT new work but a previous job that was failing and therefore not satisfactory and should be covered under my warranty. Nope. Call back on July 1st. You've got to be kidding me!!!! Remove review

Joe Cates was very kind and thorough in his explanation of what I needed to solve my wet basement issues. He was also understanding and did not pressure me when I indicated my budget would not allow me to have the full perimeter done at one time. Joe simply said that's OK, call us back when you can afford the rest and we can finish things up and connect everything. I have now had the entire job (75% one year and the last 25% the next) and both times the crew was fantastic. They were so nice and took care to put down drop cloths so as not to get dirt and such in my house. The project manager Nelson was also top notch. He worked on both segments of my job and is very professional. I have wholeheartedly recommended Gordon Energy to others who have indicated they have wet basements, foundation challenges, or drainage issues. In fact, my mom also hired Gordon Energy to install a sump well and she couldn't sing their praises highly enough. I hope people never need these sort of services but if you do, this is the company to work with.

We experience leakage around a basement egress window whenever it rained with a certain intensity and direction. One company said that the concrete above the window frame had not been properly vibrated when the house was built, and over time the poorly placed concrete developed a water pathway. They offered to replace the entire window including the window well for $5800. Gordon Energy came out, agreed that the problem was the original concrete placement, but provided three options for repair. The first, for $300, was to place a waterproof sealant over the outside of the window frame where it joins the concrete, covered by a waterproof membrane. The second option was to hire a concrete cutting company (NOT Gordon Energy & Drainage) to cut out the old window and bad concrete, followed by buying a new egress window and having a window contractor install it. The third option, which they did NOT recommend, was to replace the entire window and window well, for about the same cost as offered by the first company to come out. We elected to go with the $300 repair, and will see this Spring if it holds. If it does not we'll investigate the cost for the second option, only replacing the entire window/well as a last resort.

This team is the best! I knew from the beginning when Joe looked at my basement and assessed my needs that I was comfortable and confident with his depth of knowledge. When the work team led by Nelson and Vern arrived, they were professional and got right to work. Despite several unexpected challenges, they figured out solutions and continued working until the job was done. Now when it rains, my basement stays dry! So happy with Gordon. I made the right choice with this company and would highly recommend them

It went fine. I am still waiting for Nathan to circle back with me about window well covers but the work was done well.

Gordon Energy installed an interior drainage system in our basement in May 2016. The system was designed to eliminate water seepage into a roughly finished portion of the basement area. In April of 2017, we contracted to have that finished area upgraded and expanded since a year’s time confirmed that the seepage had been eliminated. As the contractors were finishing the upgrade, we discover water infiltration in a portion of the basement that was unfinished and that had Gordon Energy had not addressed in 2016. That seepage was flowing under an interior wall into the area that the contractors were on the verge of completing. We called Gordon Energy since the new seepage threatened to place on hold the renovation. Nelson Caraballo, whom we had worked within 2016, contacted us within two days of our call and made a site visit to explore our options. Our call to Gordon Energy was in the wake of a heavy rainy season and the company was, understandably, inundated with service requests. Nelson’s prompt response to our situation was unexpected. He did mention that, since we were a previous customer, he pushed our needs up in the queue. Pushing it up meant that we were able to address the new seepage and still meet our renovation deadline. Nelson and his crew supervisor, Poncho, completed the new installation (including installing a new sump pump) in approximated one-half day. They were efficient, professional and left the basement area clean. They went well beyond our expectations in regard to their response to our new water leakage. For their efficiency and professionalism as well for their responsiveness, I would recommend them without hesitation.

They are very knowledgeable and can help you make the appropriate decisions. You will never know that they were there. When they tear through your yard to lay that underground piping, they recover it with your sod. If you were gone that day, you wouldn't even know that they were there.

It was a real pleasure to work with Gordon Energy. They provided information I could easily understand, showed up on time, were courteous, professional, and did a great job. The amount charged was very fair in comparison to quotes from other companies. I will always have great respect for the people I dealt with at Gordon Energy. It was a lucky day for me when I first called them.

Contacted me quickly, but wanted to come on a day I had not entered into the order request. We quickly found a good time on one of the days I submitted. I needed to be at home all day instead of just the morning or afternoon. Was called the morning of installation to schedule at 3-5 p.m. window. Install called and was able to come around 1:30 p.m. Installer was friendly. He installed the pump quickly. He indicated that I would need a dedicated electrical outlet (new information) and would need to call someone else to bury the drainage pipe in the back yard. This was disconcerting as I was now left with 2 new problems to solve. I called Gordon and was told even if they could do the extra work (that I would have to pay for), it would be a 4-week wait (minimum) and they were not scheduling that service due to current high demand. When I communicated at I was unhappy with the service and felt as though I had been lied to, I was told I had until the end of the day (2 hours) to determine if I wanted them to come remove the sump pump from my home and receive a refund. From the way the ad reads, it appears a functioning sump pump would be installed - it wasn't. I called an expert in as I'm not familiar with this process. Now I need to hire a landscaper and an electrician to complete the job Gordon Energy & Drainage was hired to do.
Response from Gordon Energy & Drainage
"We always strive to give our customers great service and value and we are sorry we did not meet your expectations. I would like to state that at the price of $295 for a sump pump there are certain reasonable assumptions we expect and limits to the scope of our work. Our online promotion states "Deal does not include breaking the concrete floor for a new sump pit, pump and pipe installation. This offer typically applies to replacing a weak, old or defective existing sump pump". As far as your electrical outlet we expected to be able to be use the existing outlet and the same outlet that your previous sump pump used. If it was not a dedicated circuit before then nothing changed after we added the new sump pump. I would consider this a recommendation, but whether this needs to be changed should be your call. In regards to the burying of the sump discharge pipe, this goes well beyond the scope of this $295 offer and would entail a lot of additional exterior work. We would need to get utility locates and a lot of discussion of how and where to direct this water to. Again, the general purpose of this promotion is to replace your current sump pump. We do value your feedback and intend to clarify this promotion to prevent any future misunderstanding by others. Thank you, Austin."

The engineers were very pleasant and got right to work and cleaned up when finished.  They were ahead of time (called first) and didn't waste any time.  If ever needing plumbing service of any type, Gordon is the one I would call first.  First Class all the way.  Thank You, Gordon Energy and Drainage for a job well done.

Top notch all the way, from first initial contact setting up the appointment, to evaluating our drainage issues, and providing an estimate/quote on the spot. After receiving anther estimate, we found his price was competitive. We decided to go with Gordon Energy primarily due to Joe's knowledge/expertise, his attention to detail, and sharing his advice about other areas. Joe gave us a precise installation date rather than a general lead time as other contractors frequently do. His office assistant called a few days before the install date to confirm all details about the project including the numbers of workers assigned to the project, their expected arrival time, and to address any of our concerns. On install day the foreman called about 30 minutes before expected arrival time to confirm an on time arrival. The crew worked hard, using sod cutter to remove sod, dug trench by hand to avoid sprinklers, laid pipes and drains, back filled with dirt and gravel, and re-laid the sod. Joe came out to inspect mid-installation. All excess dirt and unearthed rocks were hauled off. The areas around the entire footage of the drain pipes were so well restored that you could not tell the area had even been dug up. Very professional, polite, and hard-working crew. A couple of weeks later, an official invoice marked paid was received in the mail without even requesting it. Have not had a big rain yet to see how well the new drainage pipes work but am very pleased with the overall process and top notch installation.

After a few months I contacted them again to get some clarity on the difference between 2 types of waterproofing they explained how each was applied and what was best for my budget / needs. When the time came to order my services, they again we very helpful in confirming the services / price (same as original estimate) and getting me on their calendar. Once the day came GED called me with an ETA so I could meet them at job site and the crew began the work on time. It was great to know that they have their own crews do the installation vs outsourcing it to a sub who might cut corners. The crew on site was very professional and when I requested the gravel for the drain tile be installed by "hand" vs using the bobcat (save time) they were OK with my request. I asked them as - I did not want a retaining wall / concrete slab to be disturbed / damaged near the basement foundation wall with the Bobcat. Over all my experience with Gordon Energy Drainage was very positive and I would highly recommend their services to anyone in town. I do plan to call them again for additional services and I can't thank them enough for the time advising me, and the energy spent helping me complete my job! Thank you GED - you guys are very professional! A++
