+ -1 moreEverything went very well. Better than expected since the problem was resolved by just a telephone call to Chuck. He is a great troubleshooter.
Description of Work: We just had our kitchen countertops replaced and were cleaning out the drawers below them with our central vacuum system and all of a sudden the vacuum starting losing suction. I looked in the end of the hose that I was using. but did not find anything. I then turned the hose upside down and nothing came out. So I thought that something was stuck in the piping. I called Chuck with Erv's vacuums and explained the problem to him and asked him if he could come out and look at it. He said no problem and we setup an appointment. After further discussion, Chuck recommended that I try a few things first to see if the hose could possibly have a clog in it. So I went down to basement to the actual unit and it had plenty of suction. I then plugged in the hose to the main unit and the suction was not there. So Chuck said that would mean that there was a clog in the hose. So I looked at the end of the hose that was in the unit and noticed what appeared to be a clog of dirt. Once I removed this, there was a plastic cap that had been sucked in and turned sideways causing the blockage. Once I removed the cap, it worked great. Without Chuck's knowledge and willingness to have me try a few things first, I would not have discovered the problem until he came out. This saved me the cost of a service call which I greatly appreciate. I wish that more companies were willing to give advice like this over the telephone.

The new parts had better features that my old parts, so I decided that a complete new set now would be better than waiting months for a replacement part. Satisfied with results.

+ -1 moreat first seemed normal they took in to see what needed to be done. they then called me and said they had talked to royal and the vacuum was not made any more and no parts were available. it had a 9 year waranty on it so I figured it was a good vac. Ervs told me royal was going to replace it with a different one. OK when it arrived it was a Dirt devil Walmart spechial not a heavy duty metal vac like we had purchased. Royal was going to try to replace a $800 vac with a $100 vac I told Chuck who helped me at Ervs that this was not right. He worked to corrected it and got royal to pony up and send a much beter metal royal vac. this will be the last royal I will ever buy they do not try to do it right. BUT I will buy my next vac from Ervs as they do take care of people and offer great service. they even assembled the new vac for me .
Description of Work: I had purchased a expensive Royal vacuum from a differnet shop On that is now gone. The vacuum broke that is when they took care of waranty work

I LEFT IT WITH HIM AND ABOUT 4 DAYS LATER HE CALLED WITH THE ESTIMATE AND I WAS VERY PLEASED TO HEAR THAT IT WAS NOT A PRICE THAT WAS UNREASONABLE. HE REPAIRED THE VACUUM AND IT NOW WORKS AS GOOD AS NEW. THIS WAS ALL DONE INSIDE OF THE TIME FRAME HE GAVE ME FOR JUST THE ESTIMATE. WOW!
