This is for work at our rental home. Tim went out and gave estimate on tree/stump removal very quickly. He wanted full payment up front which I paid with credit card. The tree was removed as planned, but a week later my tenant called me to say the stump was still about 15 in high out of the ground. I drove by and sure enough was still there. I received no phone call that stump was not going to be removed the same day. I called and spoke to a lady who said they had to call dig safe to get lines marked. In my opinion this should have been done prior to tree removal. So it gets scheduled, then she calls back and says their equipment was broke and it would be scheduled the following week. The following week I get another call that the stump would be removed the next week. It finally got removed but no follow up call or anything after that. They advised me they would send me the receipt for work right after the job was done. I called and left several voicemails and a couple emails to their business email with no response whatsoever. I finally decided before I would write up my review I would email one more time stating I needed the receipt by end of business week last week (July 18). Eileen finally emailed me back stating she would get it to me the following week as their computer was having problems and the invoice was with their accountant. I find it hard to believe that they were having computer issues for 4 months! I finally got my receipt for work done last week but I will not use this company again. It seems once they had my payment communication was horrible after that. I should not have to waste my time trying to track them down to figure out when the job would be completed and it shouldn't take 4 months to get a receipt.
July 3, we asked Creek Tree to come back for a bid to put in a replacement tree. The work was expended to include tree trimming, removal of a dying yew, and replacement trees. Creek Tree requested 50% down which we paid. It was then very difficult to get Creek Tree scheduled to do the work. Multiple appointments were necessary to get the contracted tree trimming completed to our satisfaction. Tree planting was delayed until October. We were assured that our trees had been selected and tagged because we have high expectations on the trees selected. In actuality, the tree was purchased from the Grass Pad the morning of planting. A lilac bush was the second item also purchased at the Grass Pad. We were told there were being purchased at a nursery. The tree was to be a Red Sunset maple. The tree purchased and planted was a Redpointe maple. The lilac was to be more of a tree. Instead it was a Miss Kim bush.
We have yet to decide how to proceed. Clearly, our expectations were not met. The price for replacing the trees was approximately $600. The purchased tree and bush were priced on the tag for a total of $170. Yes, a one year guarantee was provided. But, isn't that a bit ridiculous?
Yes, we both work. Yes, we wanted to be present when the work was completed. Yes, the weather got hot and dry. I'd still say that this experience doesn't feel right.
We'll never pay in advance again for any of this type of work. It removed all motivation to complete the work in a timely fashion.
"Although we do not like to hear that any of our customers are unhappy,we appreciate any feed back our company receives. At Creek Tree Service, we pride ourselves in doing quality work in a timely fashion, at a reasonable rate. When we scheduled [member name removed], we ran into weather related problems. Unfortunately, the weather plays a major role in doing our work safely and in a timely manner. We kept in contact with [member name removed] to keep him informed,as we do with all our customers. It is our company's standard to require a 50% down payment on all of our landscaping jobs. This covers the cost of supplies needed for our jobs.We have been in business for over 20 years, and use several nursery's to purchase our products, one of which is the Grass Pad. We purchased [member name removed] trees from another nursery, and due to damage to them we had to reject them. We wanted to get the job done as promised, and this is why we purchased the trees the morning of. We contacted [member name removed] when we received his review promptly. We offered to replace any trees that were not up to his satisfaction, at no additional cost. We feel [member name removed] was happy with our offer. We plan to keep in touch, to insure he is completely satisfied. Our company's reputation is very important to us.We will do what it takes to make sure this job is done and [member name removed] is completely satisfied."
