CRAWFORD CONSTRUCTION

I have known Crawford Construction for many years as they have done lots of concrete work at my commercial place of business since 2003. Jay Crawford is a hard working tradesman who will give you the final product that you expected on his bid. Scheduling Crawford was more challenging then I hoped as the rainy season put him a couple of weeks behind schedule. But once he set a date he arrived on time and completed the tearout work and the grading for the extra width of the new driveway in a timely manner. He placed the concrete on two different days so that he had more control of the finished product. The work was well done and he was a perfectionist in how he and his crew trowled the concrete. He worked fast and was always friendly, but most importantly he cleaned up after his crew everyday and then at the end of the job made sure that anything that he disturbed he fixed. He paid attention not to rut up the lawn with his bobcat and came back and placed topsoil where the driveway met the grass so that I could replant some new seed. Jay Crawford of Crawford construction did a great job on my driveway. Having used him at my business I knew that he did good work but he proved it to me at my home. I will continue using Crawford for my concrete work.

I was very pleased with the job from beginning to end. The owner worked with a two man crew and excavated the old on a Wednesday, poured Thursday, Friday, and Monday. Mr Crawford was careful to measure for proper drainage and I am pleased with the result. His crew appeared to be experienced and the end result bears that out. He purchased numerous bags of top soil to fill in major voids left from the excavating. Any damage to the lawn was minimal and the clean-up was excellent.

We were very pleased with the quality of Jay's work and his professionalism. My husband is an engineer and he checked the drive with his level after the first couple of pours and said it was perfect. The final cost of the drive was $250.00 more than the bid to cover the cost of material & labor of putting in the underground drainage pipes. Jay gave us a written bid but did not itemize. I would have preferred an itemized bid as was given to us by a couple of other contractors, but it did not prove to be a problem. Jay and his crew cleaned up every evening when work was finished and hauled off all debris. He kept us informed throughout the project and answered all questions. We would hire him again and highly recommend him to anyone needing concrete work.

Jay kept me informed and answered all my questions, was friendly and professional at all times. He showed up when scheduled and gave good advice about keeping the driveway wet to slow the curing process. He also sold me some salt guard and advised me how to apply it myself to maintain the protection on the driveway. Jay had good references that he was willing to provide and apparently does work for the city of Olathe as well. Jay advised that my driveway was one of his more difficult projects because of the thickness of the original concrete but always had a good attitude throughout the process. Jay's repair cost exactly what he promised and he made a large job very easy to deal with. Very highly recommended.
