We are sorry to have to inform everyone that Trent Goodrich passed away in a car accident Friday April 22nd 2016. He was the owner and operator of Contemporary Concrete Construction Company LLC. for over 20 years. As he was the sole operator of the company with only a few employees who were very good at their craft, the business will no longer be in service.

He took such pride and really enjoyed his work.  He also really cared for all his customers. It gave him pleasure to help, go the extra mile, and make beautiful quality driveways/patios for people to enjoy. He was the kind of man that remembered everyone.  When we went through his phone, he had no phone numbers associated with any names, because he just remembered. He also did not have phone numbers or dates associated with bids, as he just remembered. We know many customers found Contemoorary Concrete through Angie's List, so hopefully this will reach some of you. We are very sorry for those who had jobs scheduled in the future, as we are unable to notify you. We hope you understand.

Sincerely,
Trent's wife and daughter
Teresa Goodrich & Nissa Fisher

Called Trent in early August to come out and look at project and receive a bid. After finding a concrete calculator online I had a pretty decent idea of what the cost should be and Trent's bid was a little below my estimate. I still had some prep to do and we scheduled the job for the last week of September. During that time Trent called me to see how my progress was coming along and wanted to see if we were still on schedule. After my prep was complete I called to have Trent come out and go over some details including sloping the shop floor towards the 8 foot door opening and for pouring a ramp to connect to opening. We agreed on a time to pour and Trent was right on time and did a perfect job. Shop floor was exactly what I saw in my mind's eye of how I wanted it to look. Due to rain he had to come back a few days later to pour the ramp and used steel to connect to the barn to prevent separation in the future. Ramp turned our perfect as well.
I'm going to have Trent come back and do more projects in the future including a sidewalk and patio. Bottom line is if you want a concrete job done right and have it be a pleasant experience for a fair price you need to call Trent at Contemporary Concrete. You won't be sorry.

Had a very small job and knew it was going to be tough to get anyone interested but Trent was great. He showed up promptly and gave me a great price. He showed up equally promptly to complete the work and did a great job. Courteous and pleasant to work with as well. Would strongly recommend him for whatever work you might have.

After first call, Trent was very quick to come over to look at area and give me quotes. I wasn't sure where/how I wanted the pad, so he gave me quotes on three different possbilities. Of course, a few days later I came up with a fourth possibility. Trent came back to look at the area again to make sure that he would be accurate on the quote (Trent's quote was about $700 less than the other quote I got). He said it would be about 3 weeks. I asked if it could be done sooner (I was anxious to get my spa) and he said he would try to work it in a little sooner. The pad was completed a little before the 3-week mark.
The and quot;Band quot; for puctuality is due to some schedule issues for the initial dirt removal and framing. He explained that the cause related to issues getting the inspection people to complete the required DOT inspection for his trailer. This wasn't a problem for me and I believe it was unavoidable on his part, but thought I should go with a and quot;Band quot; in the interest of full disclosure.
While doing the work... I had spent a lot of time and money on my backyard lawn over the last few years, so Trent made significant efforts to damage my lawn as little as possible. Given the dirt removal and bringing in the gravel and concrete, I was amazed at how little damage was done. Within 2 days, the lawn looked like it did before the work was started. Also, Trent took care to discuss with me the options for brushing the pad... texture versus slickness when wet, etc... to make sure I got what I wanted.
Great Guy. Great Work. Great Price. I am very happy!

The owner of the company does the work with two employees. He is on the job and makes sure things are done right. He made suggestions as the job progressed which resulted in a nicer job. Both he and his employees were a pleasure to deal with. He did some extras like bring in two loads of dirt to fill in the front yard and one of his employees even planted some large plants which we got for in front of the new structure. My neighbor liked the job so well he hired him to do a patio and sidewalk on his house.
My house was built in 1965 and I had to replace this because of settling. The new construction was done much better and I doubt we will have this problem in the future.
Some of brick on the facing of my house had pulled away along with the stairs and need to be replaced too. He coordinated the work with a company he recommended, Landscope Masonry, and he also outstanding.
Couldn't have had a better experience.

Part of the concrete pad leading up to our front door cracked and fell apart. Additionally, portions of the brick/concrete porch had pulled away from the house. Trent has fixed it all!

Trent was my 6th contractor trying to get this very small (so I thought) job done. (Five of which came from Angie's list and I need to write their reviews next.)

After having to rip out the first guys horrible wood floor leveling attempt, getting stood up three times by the next guy, never getting a bid from another, a ridiculous bid from the next, and the last guy who got 90% done and then screwed up the last part leaving my floor just about as bad off as it had started out - Trent came to the rescue.

I called him up and he came out a few hours later to check out the floor and listen to my sob story. The next day Trent and his guy came out and finished my floor in about 2 hours, were extremely nice, very careful to keep my house clean as they worked, and all around great to talk to and to do business with.

Couldn't be happier, thank you so much for finally helping me get that floor ready for tile! You need anything to do with concrete, call Trent first.

Trent Goodrich, the owner, gave a written estimate and we discussed scheduling. He worked with us to schedule the job when we needed it. He started and completed on schedule and the final bill was exactly as estimated.

Upon removal of the old floor, he found that the original re-bar did not penetrate into the foundation. He drilled a hole every 24 IN and inserted new re-bar into the holes to lock the floor to the foundation. Upon completion he filled in the soil along the driveway. The workmanship was excellent and the cleanup thorough.

There have been several similar jobs done in my neighbor by competing contractors and Trent's work is noticeably better.

His pricing is in line with his competition.

We could not have chosen a better company to lay our patio! I would ABSOLUTELY use Contemporary Concrete again! Trent, the owner, was prompt and personable. He is the kind of person that will go the extra mile so that it is done right! I called for a bid, and my phone call was returned within the same day. Trent was very flexible with my schedule and came out a few days later to give us our bid. He left a color chart for us to see the different colors of stain we could choose from. He also gave us a reference, so that we could stop by and see a patio that had the same stamp and stain color we were thinking of choosing. The estimated cost reflected the final price, so there were no surprises. Trent thoroughly explained all the materials, and answered all the questions we had. He was very thorough in making sure that the size and shape of our patio was exactly as we wanted. Trent and another employee started working approximately 2 weeks later. Trent set up for the patio the night before, and it was done the next day when I came home from work. It was also sealed after being completed. There was no mess left behind when the job was done either. Furthermore, my yard was left intact and nothing was damaged or nicked on the outside of our house. We were left with an immaculate patio and have gotten several comments since! Everyone who sees our patio, wants one just like it!

The best thing about him was that he was flexible with his scheduling. It was a small job. The job was done very well overall.

Called for an estimate, Trent responded same day. We set a specific time for the estimate, Trent listened to all that I was wanting, commented on existing structure issues and changes that would have to be made per code. He wrote a detailed estimate. He started the job earlier than expected but the job took longer than originally planned. Trent kept us informed throughout the whole process. When he found problems he told us about them and corrected them before he poured concrete. His new work was superior in every way to the old existing driveway. I was pleased with the completed work and would definitely recommend this company.

This was a wonderful experience from the moment I met Trent to the end of the job. Trent and coworker removed the old concrete within a day; placed gravel and rebar the next day and poured the new driveway the following day. The driveway passed the Olathe City inspection. Trent cleaned the area and made sure the local children did not mark the newly poured concrete!
