David was excellent from start to finish. He was methodical in his inspection of a home I was looking to purchase. He actually climbed into every space and up on the roof where a lot of inspectors will just bypass places. I asked that the main sewer line be inspected and he hired a subcontractor for that work. The sewer specialist was impressive in his knowledge and honesty...so much so I plan to use him for future work. David reviewed all his findings before we left and made sure I did not have any questions. I had the full report before the days end. Based on things David found I decided not to purchase the home. I look forward to using Block Home Inspections on my next potential purchase.

I highly recommend Block Home Inspections.  I am an out-of-state real estate investor.  I contacted Mr. Block for an inspection on a duplex I was buying.  He was responsive and courteous.  We handled everything by phone, text, and email.
The inspection report was one of the most thorough and detailed I have ever seen.  He performed the inspection on a Monday afternoon and we received the report by email later that evening.  He clearly spent a significant amount of time at the property.  Many deficiencies were noted, including a few major ones that caused us to walk away from this purchase.
If we look at other properties in the area, I will definitely call Mr. Block for an inspection again.

David Block performed the most thorough and complete home inspection that I could ever imagine. A three page summary, coupled with 42 pages of inspected items, along with supporting pictures and descriptions of the items, were in my hands by the evening of date inspected.

David is the consummate professional, and his home inspection far exceeded my expectations. I am building a home in the KC area, and I plan on utilizing David's services in the 11 month inspection of our new home.

David got there even before we did and had already been on the roof by the time we arrived. He was very thorough and allowed us to follow him everywhere. He answered questions as he went for us and gave any advice we asked of him. When he was finished, he went over the entire report with us, including pictures he had taken, on the laptop he'd brought with him. He answered all our questions and spent as much time as needed on a topic until we fully understood. We then received the full report that night (minus the radon report that was pending completion of the test). Overall, we felt it was a wonderful experience. This is our first home purchase, and he made us very comfortable. We left feeling very confident about our results. We would definitely use Block Home Inspections again and will recommend him to anyone looking for this type of service.

All went well, he's very low-key, and this was reassuring. His written report was extensive, and divided into sections according to urgency of issues. Very helpful information included, he's very professional, and has his act together. I highly recommend him.

I need someone to do a whole house inspection before closing. I searched Angie's list and found that David Block was among the highest rated in the area. I sent him a text message and got a reply within 15 min with a quote. With a reasonable and fair price, we accepted his offer and set up the whole house inspection a few days later (that is today) because of his busy schedule. When I got to the house today, David was already there, setting up his ladder for the roof inspection. David spent nearly four hours, inspecting extremely thoroughly the whole house both inside and outside and explaining every single finding. At the end of his inspection, he gave a photo presentation of his findings. Three hours after the inspection, his extensive full report and summary were emailed over.

Had Dave (the owner) inspected two houses back to back so I get some discount. The inspection fee will be a little higher for one house.
Overall, I am very satisfied with Dave's service, he is punctual, professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. Dave showed up on time, spent about 3 hours on each house, went through what he found with me right after each inspection, and I got the final reports the same night.
Dave really knows what he is doing. He is very knowledgeable and understand the codes. He tested every single faucet and socket to make sure they function. He spent 15 mins in the attic checking things out and taking pictures. It was 90+ degrees that day and the attic was close to 130 degrees. I don't even want to get up there!
The reports are very thorough. I especially like the summary page that lists all the issues by their severeness so that you know what are the majors ones and what you can push off a little bit.
I will definitely use Dave again and won't hesitate to recommend him to my friends.

Inspector was already at the home performing outside inspection when I arrived. He had a report to show me of the items he questioned to review on his laptop at the home site. He then followed with a written report and recommendations to resolve. One thing I don't remember (but he may have asked) was to see a copy of the seller's disclosure prior to the inspection. He had indicated on his report that as he did not have a copy, he could not look for specific items. If he did ask for that prior, I don't remember. If I had to do it again, although I may feel like I would be a hinderance to the process, I would go from room to room with him and ask questions as he went. Overall, was happy with the experience.

At one time, he inspected for mold, but now, he focuses on whole-house inspections. He also does termite and radon inspections, too. I believe he has engineering background and is very thorough. David has been punctual and honest. The inspections usally take about two and a half hours. His reports are incredibly thorough and accurate yet fairly concise; he ends the inspection with a slideshow pointing out each problem area, so that the buyers can easily see where the problems are.

Dave inspected each home from top to bottom. His report was thorough enough for me to make an educated decision whether I wanted to buy the home or not. Out of the four homes I considered buying, Dave inspected all four. I now own, the fourth home. When I decide to move again, I will use Block Home Inspections LLC before I buy.

Mr. Block was there early, did a full inspection of the condo. He was very helpful in explaining the problems he found and what should be done to fix them. he also caught a very large problem with the furnace that saved use $1,700.00 in repairs
