Arrow gave us an excellent bid for our oddly shaped shower which required different materials and custom sizing. They finished the job to our satisfaction during a very busy holiday season.

I hired Arrow Renovations to remodel my master bedroom and bath. MY MISTAKE WAS NOT RECIEVING A DETAILED ITEMIZED QUOTE INCLUDING SUBCONTRACTORS INFORMATION PRINT OUT BEFORE SIGNING CONTRACT. The salesman had a computer he entered information on, printed out information is best for accuracy. I had a leaking toilet that caused some sheet rock damage. My shower has been cut into a least 3 times, I'm afraid of mold and mildew. I picked out bullnose tiles for a corners and ends. My shower is mismatched, some bullnose some straight edges, the accent isn't lined straight it's not pretty. I'm questioning if the plumbing is correctly installed. My bathroom fan hesitates when turning on. Questioning, if I am going to have an electrical fire. This first contractor also removed my closet door. My contract was to install 3 pre hung doors. The second subcontractor installing my doors, told me the shower tile was build over too far and the glass panel ( $324) closet door would not fit . I told him not to cut my door. The next day, without my knowledge my door trim, was cut on top and the side to fit in the small space. When I saw it I cried. The second contractor is repainting the cabinet, wall, and ceiling due gaps of missed areas. Arrow's sales manager Brandon came to my home and is refusing to do any repairs to my shower. I have a voice message from first contractor, Arrow is not paying them. I have never had an experience like this.

We thought gutters went well- leaking in several corners. Siding was a disaster. Broke my window and took weeks to fix. Did a horrible job- middle school quality and would not fix for months. Several project managers were worked with and they all quit because the owner would not allow them to fixe the problems. I ended up spending the extra money and hiring another company just to get the job done right. Arrow tried to reach out to redo the job, but the incompetence shown over the 7 months I tried to work with them shows me the owner had not moral code or ethics to do right by his customers. Trust me- steer away. This was not a one off instance. The project managers I spoke with that ended up quitting said the owner was a real sleezeball.

I’d strongly advise against buying a home that was flipped by Arrow Renovation. We recently did only to find out they cut a tremendous amount of corners in order to turn a bigger profit. All the installs are cheap and off brand. They painted over wallpaper that is already starting to peel away. They hid a large rodent infestation in the attic. Grout work on new tile is already starting to crumble. They hid rot on the outside with lots of caulk and paint that has already starting to break away. If you’re looking at a home they worked on go over it with a fine tooth comb because I guarantee they did a half assed job

I contacted Arrow in late October 2018 after severe long-term rain. I had several leaking areas in my roof. Bobbie (in the office) was fantastic! She answered my questions about the process of working with my insurance, and she set up a free estimate with Brian. Brian also was great to work with. He arrived on time and he was onsite when the claims adjuster arrived to inspect the roof. Also Brian was knowledgeable and offered several options for me to consider. Things were going so well until it came time for the actual installation. I expressed concerns about Arrow sub-contracting the roofing work and possible communication issues with a language barrier. Arrow assured me that the foreman on the roofing crew would be onsite to translate and to direct the work. However, this did not happen. Apparently the sub-contracting company had several jobs going and the foreman never came to my home. Guy (from Arrow, my Production contact) was available via text messaging and was responsive, but was clearly stretched thin between several jobs as well. During the demo process, the roofing crew accidentally demo'd some of my gutter guards, they moved items (planters, grill, compost bin, etc) to the back and sides of my yard, and they did not move these items back after the job was complete. I'm a gardener so I have lots of planters. Also, while Guy did let me know the job might take more than one day - after the end of the day no one knocked on the door or let me know they were leaving for the day or coming back the next day. I walked outside with a flashlight (the work was done in November so it was dark early) and noticed tools/ladders/etc. all over the side yard. I had to contact Guy to find out what was going on. I would have expected them to let me know in a proactive way that the job wasn't finished and they'd be back to complete it the next day (a Saturday). On Saturday I was out of town and when I returned, discovered that they didn't remove a satellite dish cable (as requested), that they left my outside spigot dripping water all over my patio, and none of the items from the back of the house (planters, compost bin, grill, etc.) had been moved back to their original positions. Also there were large chunks of old shingles, chimney flashing, and nails surrounding the house - so their cleanup efforts were not very good. Again I contacted Guy and he asked me to NOT move items back, and let me know they'd return on Monday to do a better job cleaning up. On Monday Guy returned to the house with Marvon (the foreman of the sub-contracting roofing company - that's the first time I met him). The crew moved the items back and cleaned up some of the larger pieces of shingles. A week later I had leaks. Around skylights that I had specifically asked Guy to ensure would not leak. He and Marvon came back out and sealed the skylights. And so far, no more leaks. So, to recap - the initial contact/sales process was outstanding. I appreciated Bobbie's answering my questions and Brian being onsite when the claims adjuster was onsite. I would give these two folks and "A" rating. Guy was responsive whenever I contacted him, but I wouldn't say very proactive (again, he appeared to be stretched thin). For the amount of money I spent I would expect better workmanship and cleanup. I was looking forward to a long-term relationship with Arrow since they perform several home improvement services, but based on this experience, I cannot recommend them. As a side note - I filled out their customer response survey stating my experiences (as I've stated here on Angie's List) and no one from Arrow contacted me to discuss the feedback.
Response from Arrow Renovation
"To our customer [Member Name Removed] I want to thank you for your feedback whether it was good or bad. We do like to hear from customers. Guy stated that you called him several times, and everything sounded positive. We can always improve and that is what we thrive to do. From your note, it sounded like you had a great experience with our salesman Brian and Bobbie who helped in the claim process. I thank you for saying that you would give them an "A" rating. We are glad you were happy with the several roofing options. You are correct, Production Managers in our industry are always busy. Guy stated that he communicated with you well and on many occasions. We are evaluating why Marvin wasn't onsite at all times. We were under the impression that he was, so we thank you again for the feedback to help us improve our services. You are welcome to give me a call anytime. (913) 703-3000. Danny Davis Arrow Renovation Owner"

Avoid this company at all costs. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. The entire job was estimated to take 6-8 weeks. It took 18 weeks to get through the first half, and they lied, took short cuts, caused thousands in damage to my floors, and were just all around a complete pain to deal with. They failed inspections, failed to pull permits properly, installed things incorrectly, didn't follow standard practices, and built things exactly as I said I didn't want them. They are not going to be finishing the second half. I am still waiting for almost a month now for them to close my permits so that I can open new permits to have someone else complete the job that they failed at. They did not communicate when things were behind schedule, or going to go over budget, or anything really. After they tore up my house, there was a problem with their plumber, and I sat in a construction zone for 5 weeks waiting for them to find a new plumber, while no other work was done. Then they tried to do the plumbing themselves, but the entire thing had to be redone. The entire time this was going on I was living out of my living room. The toilet they installed is almost a foot off the back wall and not centered when they laid all new plumbing and drain lines for this. The new shower they installed was not covered when they painted, so I am still picking off paint splatter, the tile floor had a trap door that is now sinking and bending, and will need to be redone. Nothing was coordinated. I was told countless times that "a plumber is lined up and coming tomorrow" or "we have ordered the closet doors" only to have it turn out to be completely false, causing me to take time off work for no reason. I had to remind them of things that required inspections. It took 8 weeks to order cabinet doors, and even then they got the wrong ones. (The ones they ordered actually got torn off of all in one cabinet units from home depot, when custom made ones could have been ordered in plenty of time for the same price). I told them I would order them myself, but they insisted. They did not order the parts I had requested in a timely manner, and they sold out. I had to order and pay for my bathroom vanity myself even though it was built into the contract. I was told countless times they would bring in a professional cleaning crew. It was even in the contract. They did not, and flat out refused. I paid over $500 out of pocket to clean up after them, and still am. I went through 3 project managers with them, having to go over the job from scratch every time. It took them a month to return my key. They jack-hammered through painted concrete from the 30's without doing a lead test, followed by countless promises to do the test, including promises from the office to come down and do it personally, but none of this ever happened. No tests have been done to date, and any further inquiries about them go unanswered. In fact all emails that bring up the work, or contract, continue to go unanswered. Instead of approaching me with any of their problems, or discussing a change order or asking for more money to do something right, they continued to try to cut corners and do things within the original budget. I had mentioned many times that they should just talk to me if there was an issue, but that never happened. They left a massive pile of debris in my front yard for over 3 months, despite the cost of a dumpster being built into my contract with them. I eventually had to make them do this. The only work that turned out ok was work that they actually sub-contracted out - electrical, hvac, and eventually after months of failed attempts plumbing. They tried to cut as many corners as possible by doing work themselves which they were not qualified to do. The concrete work on my floor is already cracking, and I am bringing in a professional to test it to make sure my foundation is still sound. I also believe it should have been inspected but never was. If that is the case, the entire floor will need to be torn up and redone again, just to show it for inspections. They did not finish the opposite side of new walls, and they still remain unfinished. The one thing they can do is drywall. The drywall work is solid. That is the only good thing I have to say about this experience. Do not trust this company. I am still cleaning up after them, chasing down information, and figuring out what it's going to take to fix the mess they left behind.

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], I am very sorry for your experience. My understanding of the project is very different. Mark Miller, your primary project manager on the job informed Arrow that you wanted to take a break at the half-way point of the job due to health issues and the upcoming holidays. He said he informed you that the second half of the job would need to be rebid in 2018. He said you would contact us for someone to come out to do a bid when you were ready. Again, I am sorry for how this didn't work for you. Please call me to discuss anytime. 913-703-3000 Respectfully,"

I have a 3-story house, which needed 3 layers of roofing removed (including wood shake shingles) and a new roof installed. The roofers were very professional and made sure items around the house were protected or moved, so that nothing was damaged during the removal or installation. All debris was effectively cleaned up and removed after the job was completed. Although there was a production management change during the process, I was very satisfied with the end result.

If you don’t value your time or a company who will do what they commit to would be average rating. Sales process went well. After down payment made Arrow missed two scheduled production appointments. Both time production manager and scheduling manager said wouldn’t delay project. Was told project to start first week in September. Project didn’t start for two weeks after initially told would be. Gave Wednesday start date, didn’t start that day. Then told Thursday morning. Didn’t come in AM told would be there in PM but rather than start project came to see what was needed to do work. (2 full lost days). Call operation manager and expressed frustration with taking time from our days and wanted a resolution. He indicated would call back but didn’t hear from him. Third attempt at start date showed up hour late. (mistakenly took out vanity that was supposed to stay). Second work day was 1 1/2 hours after supposed to be there so called operation and scheduling managers again. Operation manager said maybe due to rain (was indoor project clearly took no action from conversation week prior). Did finally show two hours after committed start time. Left a message for owner to discuss how things handled to date. Never did get return call from owner. Day three of work no issues arrived on time. Day four was told would arrive either 8 or 9:30 depending on a meeting. Called office at 11:30 and told were sent to another project, finally showed up at 1:30 but didn’t have tile needed to move forward so sent pictures of what was to have been secured. Tech said would go to store but never did return. After unreturned calls to scheduling manager inquiring if walking off job received call from production manager about tile and had to go online to find another option since they hadn’t ordered what was agreed to initially. As part of call talked about vanity mistake, he wasn’t aware what scheduling manager had indicated would be resolution. Next two days no problems with arriving late or work (was a mistake with window trim being wrong size but again they worked to fix error). After week and half received call about vanity being ready to install and window trim to be done. Scheduled a time for this and arrived on time and finished project along with some minor fixes needed. Tech workers were very professional and did decent work. Mistakes with materials and production can happen so the fact that there were errors is part of the process. My problem with Arrow renovation is the lack of respect for our time with missed appointments and not showing up for working when they commit to do so. This project was sold as stating first week of September but started two weeks late and just was completed first week in October. Additionally when speaking with managers they didn’t know this project so either they didn’t care or had projects that were deemed more important than ours. The communication between scheduling; operations, and production lacks as often get different information from each. Unfortunately now have to find another company for kitchen and another bathroom project.

The representative never got up on the roof nor into the space between the roof and ceiling. All photos he took were shot from the ground. Poor explanation about not needing to get up on the roof. Pressed me too much to sign a contract with prices good that day only. No thank you!

"Mrs. [Member Name Removed] Thank you for allowing us to come review your project. We are very sorry your experience wasn't what you expected. We didn't schedule the correct person for your lead and consequently we sent out someone who was not capable of getting on the roof due to his advanced age. This was our mistake and we want to apologize. However, if you are still needing you project bid and completed we will ensure that you get a representative that is capable of giving you a bid. Furthermore we are introducing our professional real drone service next month that will include high resolution photographs and 4k video. We do have a great staff that strive to be the best in the Kansas City market and we are a Class 'A' General Contractor that is accredited with the top brand in the country. Our values are teamwork, persistence, discipline and loyalty and if given the chance we will make you a very happy client! Thanks, Danny Davis"

They messed up my roof. If it hadn’t been for Angie’s List Arrow Restoration would have never, ever do anything to make it right. They did come back, but they didn’t fix my roof. I have to pay somebody to fix my roof. They reimbursed me but still it took 6 months to get it resolved. I was satisfied. The work was great. The guy that did the inside bedroom, he was fantastic. Him personally, I would give him and “A”. Once they got back and realized I wasn’t going to go away, the quality of their work was great. With the 6-month lag in there it looks pretty bad, but once I got on it and realized I’m going to haul you into court, they were responsive. They were very responsive. I actually found an attorney in Liberty that’s suing the crap out of them. When I found him I straight up told them, “yea, you go right ahead, cause I’ve got that old Liberty guy that wants to meet up with me!” They were like, “what?” I said, “yea, I spoke with attorney such-n-such!” And buddy, they couldn’t move fast enough. They were punctual. The guy was very punctual. I may, depending on what the thing is, I may kind of be hesitant to use them, but you never know, I may get a different crew for a different thing.

Arrow Renovation & Construction -The Member had a horrible experience with SP.. Member stated the SP will not pay for the loss. Installed Vynl Siding in the area of a nook on roof.. Put siding on nook. It started leaking. Called and reported the roof leaking into the bedroom. SP would not return calls. Very arrogant about the situation. SP stated it is there roof leaking. Roof never leaked until they installed siding. Had roofers come out and video taped. Roofer confirmed it was coming from the Vynl siding. Called SP again.. SP still stated it is there roof. SP would not come out to inspect the situation. Hung up on the Member. Now the ceiling is coming down. Taking buckets of water from the bedroom. It will take $10,000.00 to repair the damage. Member Paid $8,890.00 to Arrow Renovation for the Vynl Siding installed.

Arrow Renovation did a fantastic job remodeling our kitchen and finishing out our basement.  They installed new kitchen cabinets, new tile and new stainless steal appliances for the kitchen.  In the basement, they framed in the rooms, sheet rocked, the walls and ceilings, and then painted everything.  They also ran all of the electrical and plumbing in the basement.  Carpet was also installed in the basement.
Arrow's finally bill was right in line with their bid and the job was completed 1 day earlier than expected.  I would definitely recommend Arrow Renovation to anyone needing a general contractor to make major home improvements.
