Description of Work: provided parts for my mower

Description of Work: AES does not actually perform service, they are a wholesale lawn equipment parts distributor that also sells to the general public through their on-site retail store. I'm submitting this report as a service to Kansas City area members who are trying to locate a place that sells and CARRIES IN STOCK a wide variety of lawn equipment parts for many manufactures. My story: I have a 6 year old Craftsman self-propelled lawn mower that needed a gear in the drive transmission. The mower would not self-propel itself. I disassembled the the transmission myself, and set about trying to find a place in the KC metro area that had the part in stock. I called about 8 different lawn mower shops and the story was always the same; they didn't have it in stock but could get for me in 3-4 days. Even the Sears KC parts depot, after placing me on hold for about 15 minutes, told me that they don't stock the part but could order it for me. However, one of the shops I called suggested that I contact AES LawnParts in Olathe. I called AES, and they not only had it in stock, they had 14 of them in stock! I was shocked and very pleased. I made the trip to AES in Olathe yesterday morning, and realized what I had found. AES has a very large warehouse of lawn equipment parts that sells primarily to the wholesale trade. This is the place that all the lawnmower shops I called get the parts from when they order them for a customer! I bought the part for $6.77 (compared to Sears price of $7.99) and went on my way. Got my mower working this morning. So, if you need a mower part, and you need it TODAY, give AES a call. Note that they do not sell on-line to the public; you must go to their retail showroom in Olathe.
