 + -1 moreW Mr. hall and his crew showed up in mid-afternoon, as he had promised in a phone call the day before, He again reviewed the plan for handling the removal of the tree. He stated he would be the one doing the climbing, and removing the branches as he described. He started on the inner side of the tree, as it was nearest to the structure, and he wanted to make sure he did not put it in danger. The other side of the tree hung out over the street, which is a major east-west thoroughfare serving all of the west side of the City.. He wanted to make sure there was as little disruption of the traffic flow as possible. The work went very smoothly, and the crew worked together like a well oiled machine. It was easy to see that they have worked together for quite a long time. They did a great job of cleanup as well, leaving no trace that they had been there, except that the tree was now absent.
Description of Work: Mr. Hall and his crew cut down a very large, mature Maple tree that was sending roots out many directions. The roots had already caused a rise of over 3 inches to a sidewalk on the yard side. There was a concrete driveway which intersected the sidewalk at a 90 degree angle, and it was causing cracks and early elevation changes in the driveway. . The street was parallel to the sidewalk, at a distance of approximately 5-6 feet, and there were early cracks noted. With all of these problems, we consulted with the provider, and he suggested that we could either severely trim the tree, including the root areas that were causing problems; OR that we could have him cut the tree down and put root killer in the stump. I decided, along with input from my tenant, to go ahead and have the crew cut down the tree.
