We have had outage problems in the past so we decided to put the generator in as a backup. It runs off a natural gas line and it essentially powers three-fourths of the house. It has an automatic switch-over. I got a referral to them from the gas service company who were touting various improvements. I talked to them and they gave me a good hand. The gas service company had to change the meter because it's a big natural gas line and it takes a bigger sized meter. They changed the meter and then the company installed the generator and the automatic switch so that 15 seconds after power loss, it automatically starts and runs everything until the power comes back on and switches it back. It is absolutely wonderful. The company was super about the installation. We really analyzed the situation and dealt with all the various issues about location and everything. The workmen were all super. They were clean and polite and very efficient. I had one small issue with it the first time it came on when the power went off. It came on when the power went off, but it did not shut off when the power came back on. I called the installation manager who had been out to help with the installation on his cell phone. He asked a series of questions and told me where to go on the control panel on the unit. I pushed a couple of buttons and it shut off and went back to the lined power. He was out the next day to check it out. They came out and reset something on it. Since that time it has functioned perfectly. They do an annual check and calibrate and clean everything. They were first rate. They will be out in July to do their annual inspection.
