"We really enjoyed working with [Member Name Removed] to complete his project. His house looks wonderful and we hope [Member Name Removed] and his family enjoy spending time in their beautiful home."
They showed up on time and promptly did all the work as promised and at the cost stated up front. the porch repairs were included and performed at the price stated. They even included some extra porch spindles without extra cost.
"[member names removed] were a pleasure to work with. They were very clear on what they wanted done and the colors they had selected, so it made it easy to provide them with the results they were looking for. They were receptive and friendly to the painters working at their home, and that always makes the guys want to do their very best for the homeowners. I wish them well as they enjoy their beautiful home."
After reading the other reviews on here, and meeting Larry when he came out to bid on the project, I felt like I was in good hands. We took a couple other bids, and this one seemed like a good value for the money. Unfortunately, the crew that ended up actually doing the work was sloppy, disrepectful of my property, and had very poor attention to detail. When the job started, I was introduced to Carlos, who would be running the job. Unfortunately, he ended up hardly ever being present, and the crew members left to do the work clearly weren't interested in doing the job right. They also didn't speak English, so I had almost no ability to communicate with them.
When scraping/power-washing the old paint off, the crew didn't use any kind of dropcloth to collect the falling paint chips. (Since my house is over 90 years old, one should generally assume it's got lead-based paint on it, right? Per my research, this appears to be a fairly serious EPA violation.) These paint chips were then stepped on and pulverized during the rest of the job, so I ended up with thousands of tiny chips EVERYWHERE. They're in the grass. They're in the multiple mulched areas I have next to the house. They're on my driveway and my patio. Even after several attempts by both JCP and myself to clean them up, they're still everywhere. Not only is this unsightly, but if our old paint was indeed lead-based, it's unsafe not only to the groundwater, but to our 17-month-old son. We still have to check every time we come inside to make sure we're not tracking in tiny paint chips he'll end up eating. Completely unacceptable.
In addition, one of the times I was out trying to communicate with the crew, I watched one of them wash out a paint bucket and throw the wastewater directly into what had been, until that moment, my vegetable garden. They got paint on my patio furniture. They oversprayed and got paint on my stone foundation in a couple spots. All in all, the crew clearly had an utter lack of respect for my property.
Our house was previously white all over; we went to blue with white trim. The crew didn't seem to pay any attention to what was supposed to be and quot;trim,and quot; and just sprayed nearly everything blue. I had to point out multiple times that certain things should be trimmed white. These weren't special/strange requests, but areas that are what I would consider and quot;standardand quot; - you could have looked at any other house on my street as a reference point. Larry ended up doing several of these areas himself at the end, as we ept finding and quot;trimand quot; areas painted blue after the crew was and quot;finished.and quot;
I feel Like Larry made the effort to help fix the problems his crew had caused, and ended up doing most of the touch-up work himself. There was some carpentry-related work that became part of this project, about which we'd had some miscommunication during the bid process, and I feel that he probably charged me less than he could have because of the issues I'd had with the crew.
I'd probably rate the paint job a B. I expect some impefections on a house this age, but I feel like there are ares that could have been given more attention and finishing detail.
Larry's efforts to correct his crew's mistakes helped, but the metaphorical hole they'd dug just wasn't something he could climb out of. I can't give the whole experience anything other than an F. Judging by the other reviews on here, it appears my experience is not the norm, and I hope actions have been taken to address the issues that occurred during my painting job. That said, I obviously couldn't recommend their services, based on my experience.
"I take no comfort in the fact that the grades received on this review are an anomaly of what we normally receive. We were unable to enthusiastically satisfy the homeowner, and for that I am truly remorseful. The crew leader, Carlos, has good communication skills and is generally very responsive and helpful during the process. Unfortunately, he had some personal issues that caused him to continually leave the job site. While the other members of the crew are good painters, they need the leadership and supervision that Carlos normally provides. What we ended up with is good production painters with undeveloped decision making skills being left to their own devices. I have spoken with Carlos about my expectations that he remain on the job at all times. I have no intention of repeating the unfortunate issues we had here and am very sorry that the member had to experience this."
"The member had us do some wood repairs and paint her home. The house turned out very nice, but she noticed a dent in her stucco that she didn't recall seeing before. She was very gracious while pointing it out without being accusatory. It was a simple fix and the experience had been positive, so we patched the hole and touched up the paint. I was very appreciative of the member selecting Johnson County Painting to do her home."
The job was started on the day and time promised. The crew worked quickly, neatly and thoroughly. They were extremely polite, friendly, good-natured and seemed to enjoy working their craft. They were happy to accommodate special requests and did a good job cleaning up.
The goal of this company seems to be to satisfy the customer and to complete the job to the last detail. Mr. Ammerman never made me feel like the job was being rushed. He saw to every request no matter how minor. My house looks great and I feel like I got the best deal in town. At least one neighbor intends to use this company based on the quality of work she has seen.

"Member selected some very vibrant colors for his house and an accent that really made the house pop. He had an itemized list of repairs and modifications he wanted done, and used it to ensure we performed everything as promised. Working with Member was an enjoyable experience and now he has a beautiful home to enjoy for years to come. Thank you Member!"
