I called Chris Hammond to remodel our bathroom based on the very positive experiences of several friends and relatives. They were correct, we are very satisfied with the work his company performed. To begin with, Chris sat down with us and found out what we would like. We described our dream bathroom. He came back with an estimate which was about $10,000 more than we had budgeted. Who knew bathrooms were so expensive!! Chris then spent a lot of time with us figuring out ways to cut costs and get the project within budget. We approved the plan and the work began about 2 weeks later. Chris kept us informed during the entire remodel about what would be done each day, what time the workers would be there, etc. He visited every day to make sure everything was going as planned. His workers showed up promptly on time every day. They made an effort to minimize the dust and construction debris. It was winter and we had some big snow storms. The workers were very conscientious about keeping the winter mess out of the house, laying down numerous tarps everyday to trap the footprints. Every one of the workers were superb craftsmen in their specialty. New cabinets were custom built and beautiful. There was a little trouble getting the stain to look exactly right and the cabinet painter did not stop till it was perfect. The tile workers did wonders. As a cost cutting measure, we had preserved the old tile floor (actually only 6 years old). The tile people helped pick a good match for the new tile (old tile was out of stock), suggested ways to install it artfully and did a wonderful job. The painters painted 3 different rooms with trim and they look great. Plumbing and electrical are perfect. The glass installers did a great job on the mirrors and new shower doors. In all, superb work by true craftsmen. The workers have been with Chris for a while. Besides being professionals, they were friendly - always good when someone is in your house for days on end! I trusted them enough to leave the house while they were there. The project came in right at the estimated amount. It was also finished a couple of weeks early, despite the snowstorms. In summary, great craftsmanship, professional workers, good communication during the job. I would highly recommend Hammond Remodeling!
