Cremation Center of Kansas City

At the time my daughters and I went in to finalize the details we selected and paid for jewelry made with my mother's ashes. The Cremation Center failed to place the order. After a couple of months I followed up. First I was told that the Jewelry company lost the order, but finally was told the truth in the matter. I had to take the ashes and go back in to reorder the jewelry. When I picked up the jewelry, it wasn't what I had ordered. I was offered no apologies or reimbursement for their mistakes.

The cremation went fine. I ordered and paid for 3 glass art necklaces. Doug forgot to place the order. After 2 months I ask where the necklaces were. Was told to bring in the ashes so they could reorder the necklaces. Luckily I still had them. When I picked up the necklaces, Doug had ordered the wrong style. No apologies, no compensation.

Death is never an easy thing to face. My parents both wanted to be cremated so I knew what I had to do before they passed away. I called The Cremation Center based on one review on Angie's List. I know, a strange place to go for cremation services but I found a positive review so I gave them a call.  I was emotional as the end was drawing near for my mother. The man on the other end of the phone, Doug, had the voice of kindness, compassion and caring. He was incredibly patient, waiting until I could talk in between my crying. He helped me break things down into the steps and answered the questions I didn't even know to ask.  I honestly felt like I was getting a hug through the phone.
Doug presented all the options to me. He was straight forward with pricing and services and never tried to sell me anything. He was incredibly patient and so helpful. Both times when my parents passed, the two people that came to get them were extremely professional, just like Doug said they would be.  My parents were both draped in  beautiful  material as they left the building.
I met Doug in person for the first time after my mom passed. I had to sign the papers and pay for services. He was so gentle and caring. He truly was an enormous source of support in dealing with this horrible time. Once again, Doug was upfront with everything. There were no attempts to change the price I was given or talk me into something I didn't want.  When I went back to get the remains of my mother, he was equally as caring and compassionate.
I found the same experience with Doug when my father passed away a few months after my mother. He is as good as it gets when it comes to having to deal with such an unpleasant event. He made the process as easy as it could be. I asked him if I could hug him before I left on my last visit. He truly touched my heart with his kindness and compassion. I cannot recommend him and the Cremation Center of Kansas City highly enough.
