Larry and his crew take pride in their work, are incredibly friendly and professional, and â most important, at least for me-only work on one project at a time. Innovative design took over a project for me that had been badly begun, by a contractor who totally flaked out and disappeared and hadnâ t apparently been following the architectural plans (though I didnâ t know this at the time). It took them a while to get to me because they were booked, but it was worth the wait! Final project outstanding, professionalism and communication great.

Larry and his team completed installation of our non-standard privacy fence. I ordered panels that required fixation on tall fence posts. We obtained multiple estimates for the job and new immediately that Innovative Design was just that. Larry offered suggestions how to mount the panels that no other contractor had considered. The finished product is seamless and just how I envisioned it when I purchased these panels! I appreciate when a company cares about the quality and aesthetics of a project. I will go to Innovative Design for any future project. I highly recommend this company.

Larry and the crew finished an approximately 600 square foot basement area including a bedroom/office, main room, and full bathroom. The job did take longer than planned but there were both supply issues and weather issues that slowed them down. The work area was kept fairly clean and they took pains to keep the rest of my house clean and protected throughout the process. I wanted this job done by the books and Larry went through the process of transferring his license to Johnson County, pulling the permits, and scheduling the inspections. The inspector was very complimentary about the work and I don not think there were any findings in any of the inspections, which tells me it was a job well done. We made several changes along the way including adding a linen closet and additional closet under the stairs, and changing the location of one of the walls. We also had to work through a couple of quirks that every house will throw at you but the team did a great job adapting. If I had to be critical about anything it would be inefficiency. There were lot of trips to the hardware store for supplies which may have contributed to the longer than planned job duration, however, that impacts IDC more than me. I trusted Larry and the team with my home and we are pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend IDC for any jobs you have in the South Kansas City area.

I hired IDC to finish approximately 600 square feet of living space in my basement including a bedroom/office, full bathroom and entertainment/home theater room. Larry and the crew did a great job on the basement and treated my home well. It was his first job in Johnson County, KS, and he went through the steps to get his contractors license in this county, learn the code, pull necessary permits and build to code. There were no findings in any of the three city inspections and the inspector was very complimentary of the work that was performed. IDC was responsive to changes along the way, always kept us informed, and answered all of my many, many questions! The job did take longer than initially planned but there were some weather related delays that contributed. Larry runs a small crew and they had to drive from Lawrence to Olathe each day so that ate into the time. The crew was fun to work with and in the end our vision was brought to life. Many thanks to Larry and the IDC team for a job well done!

Larry and his team are very easy to work with. They are a little on the slow side, but the quality of work is good. Larry had great ideas for a difficult situation with our basement stairway. I would recommend them for your project! Update: We had a problem with our pantry door and Larry came over without hesitation and completely changed the way the door opened.
