They did an excellent job and were very professional. They were rather expensive but I will use them again when I am ready for my next remodeling job. It is worth it when you find a company you trust to do it right.

The service tech did a great job and also helped with another small task at no additional charge.

We were very satisfied. Don's workers are very professional, they clean up every night after they are finished, and their work is top notch. SMB are probably more expensive than some, but I know that he provides good benefits to his workers.

Don does outstanding work and stands by it.  We have had only a couple of problems (e.g. some paint coming off a door a year after installation).  Don replaced the door at no cost to us.  He always completes the work to your satisfaction.
One of Don's best traits is his patience.  It took us some to decide on the exact granite countertop, plumbing fixtures, and tile that we wanted for the remodeling of our kitchen.  He personally showed us many options at various locations around the city.  He walks you through the process step-by-step prior to the actual job.  He advised us about the pros and cons going with different products.
 
Another thing I really like about Shawnee Mission Builders is the quality of their work and the professionalism of their crews.  They do not take shortcuts and their finished work is outstanding.  The man who does his tile work is excellent.  I would also say that the men that he has doing the electrical and wall refinishing are fabulous.
 
I have met many of the men that work for the company, and I would feel safe with them being in my house unsupervised.  They never came before 8:30 a.m. and were always finished by 4:00 p.m.  Our family and neighbors really appreciated that.  Each day (and after the project was finished) they would clean everything up so that our home and yard was not a mess.
 
All of our family and friends have commented on the high quality of craftsmanship that Shawnee Mission Builders provides. 
 You may be able to find a cheaper builder, but you will not find anyone who does better work. 

They spent considerable time before starting the job to make sure they knew exactly what we wanted.  The work was done in a timely manner.  They kept us informed as the job progressed.  The total job took about six days not including a week-end.  They kept the worksite very clean and hauled away all of the old  materials that they removed during the remodel.  We are very happy with the quality of the finished job.  We would recommend this contractor to others and we would use them again.

They did a wonderful job.  The owner and his son came out for the estimate in the beginning, and gave us a start date.  The two workers were here on that date.  They tore out the old shower stall (tile, plumbing, etc.) and took off the old counter top, sinks, and faucets.  They did the preparations the first day, and came the second day to actually put in the new shower and counter tops and sinks.  The third day a worker came to install the shower doors.  Everything turned out just as we wanted, and we now have a beautiful new master bath.

They did a wonderful job. They are very detailed in their trim work. It looks perfect. From start to finish, the crew is very professional, they clean up daily. Don Plfumm and the crew are wonderful to work with from the bidding to the completed product. We will  continue to use their services. You feel very safe and can come and go with no worries.

They are friendly, clean, and they did it in less time than they said. I was very satisfied with the work.

Their price is reasonable.  It includes a lot of windows.  They are very professional.  They do very high quality work.

It went great. First they came and gave a bid. It was very detailed.  They removed the old windows and doors. Replaced with 400 series Anderson windows and slider. New wood front door with full glass. Finished the trim to match the architecture of the home with every detail included. Beautiful finish work, trim and painting. Looks perfect. They clean up everyday. Very professional. We definitely would use them again.

It went pretty well working with them. They were prompt and started the work on time. They were good workers and very personable. I trusted them in my home. They were very careful with my hardwood flooring. They covered all the doorways and the floor with plastic. They finished the work on time even though the back splash tile arrived late. I asked them to save a toilet and other items for me so I could give them to Habitat for Humanity and when I went to look, the toilet was missing. I called them and they told me they would bring me another toilet but they never did. There was a spot on the ceiling in the kitchen that did not look right and when they came out to fix it, they made it worse. They then told me they would come back out in a week to fix it again but they never came. The faucet became loose within a month and they came out and fixed it. Six months later it did it again and they again came back out and fixed it. It is loose again and I have not even called them. When they came out to install the tile, they did use a sub-contractor which they told me they did not do and that was the reason I had chosen them.

DON PFLUMM WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND HIS STAFF WAS WONDERFUL. THEY GOT THE WINDOWS INSTALLED VERY QUICKLY AND I NEVER EVEN KNEW THEY WERE THERE. CLEANUP WAS FANTASTIC!
