QUALITY WOOD PRODUCTS INC

The cabinets were built and installed on time.  The quality of their product is really poor.  Our cabinets came back in miserable condition.  I admit that I am probably a little bit more picky than most, but to me these are issues.

• The drawer bottoms are thin and of poor quality
• One cabinet came w/o the interior finished
• There were numerous dings on the doors and sides
• The screws they used to put the cabinets up were dark while the interior of the cabinets were lighter and many of the screws were not set flush and stick out
• Our refrigerator cabinet was built to standard depth (even though we have a custom job), so our fridge sticks out several inches - it is a concern because they pre-measured the fridge before the cabinets were built and didn't give us an option to have the cabinets built around the fridge (which is our preference). 
• The drawer slides used in the pantry were flimsy at best. 
• Some of the wood used on the drawers had knots almost all the way through. 
• The divider for the cookie sheets above the pantry wasn't finished and the veneer was peeling on the front and the sides. 
• Several pullouts in the pantry were put together so poorly that the tops of the wood sides are not flush.
• When they drilled the handles, they chipped the back on several of the cabinet doors where the screws came through and didn't fix the chips.  On dark cabinets with wood exposed, it is extremely noticable.
• One cabinet had a built in shelf that was different from the other shelves and was a lot thinner than the other shelves in the cabinets

The sales person (Matt) was not willing to fix or address almost all of our issues.  His approach had a lot to be desired.

A couple of our above mentioned items were partially addressed:  They changed the drawer slides for the pantry and
they fixed the lip of the thnner cabinet shelf

The remainder of the items were not addressed and they are continually refusing to address them.

They did not get a permit.  A intake vent was going to be moved, it was just covered up and the vent above the stove was not vented at all.  It draws the air onto the upper cabinets. There is a lot detailed work that was not done.  No wood trim between travertine and wood floor.  The brand new vessel sink has dents in the stopper.  Looks second hand.  Part of a wall does not have final coat of paint, and hundreds of nail holes are not plugged, and grut is flaking.  I did not make it through my list on the walk through because he was rushing and intimating.  Overall it was looks good.    If somebody wants just kitchen cabinets, they are pretty and very fast.  Do not use them for tile flooring.  What a MESS.  They started out really great and then it slacked.  I will not consider using their services again in the future.  The references were great- from original company.

We had priced cabinetry through a big box store and QWP (the company is now called Profile) was minimally higher but for custom cabinetry.  I was shocked and thrilled!  I worked with Doug.  He was precise in his drawings and suggestions.  He is extremely detail oriented which I appreciated immensely.  When I thought I wanted a certain look he kindly informed me that it was considered "old school" and that the best look was something else.  I can whole-heartedly say that he knows his business!  The end result is beautiful!  I was able to choose every detail - height, width, depth, color, handles and more.  We chose a painted finish - I had to choose the exact paint color.  I couldn't just say " bright white."   Once I gave them the exact color name/number they did a sample on a piece of wood for me to look at in my home - Doug came to my home with the sample.  I signed off on the sample and they keep it for their sake and mine.  Their sake in case I come back later and say it wasn't the same color I chose.  My sake so if I need to match it later they have the exact name and number.  There are lots of bells and whistles that can be done with cabinetry.  I ended up keeping their basic drawer glides and handles.  As far as price goes, Doug was very good about telling me when things would have an upcharge.  He would make suggestions so I would get the function I wanted without adding unnecessary upcharges.  The installer did a great job on the vanity.  Our storage tower looks great but hasn't been installed yet but that's due to a delay by our contractor not QWP.   I never thought custom cabinetry would ever be an option so I couldn't be happier with the service and price given by QWP.   I am hoping to use them again really soon for another vanity and, Lord willing, eventually our kitchen. 

Quality did a terrific job matching the new cabinets to the old. They refused to stain and install the cabinets because it was a remodel. There were a few glitches, but the company stood behind its work. They are not the easiest company to work with because they have pretty rigid rules about what they will and won't do, but the final product was excellent. They were always very polite. They seemed slow to respond at times and fairly expensive.
