Platinum Outdoor Concepts

So far I've only purchased firewood from Dave, but he's coming out to give me a deck build bid in the next month to get our spring started off right! Super accommodating when it came to my schedule and wants with our wood purchase. As a side-note, the wood burned super hot and was great heating our space.

Horrible, The wall is 7 layers high, all of the layers are above ground. The rule is to completely bury a layer for an outdoor retaining wall if it is going to be 3 or more layers high. He hid the fact that he didn't bury a layer by pushing loose dirt around the bottom, I found the problem the next day when I was cleaning up all the dirt he left in the yard. I am going to have to rebuild the wall, it will crumble if left like it is.

My before and after pictures look amazing and the peace of mind in knowing that my front steps wont slide away from house, is priceless! The process was very quick from Presentation to Installation. Couldnt be happier with the finished product.

They were fine. They were recommended by the home inspector.

I worked with Platinum Outdoor Concepts recently on full landscaping of my front and back yard including tree planting, shrubbery, lighting, a water feature and more.
I had SEVERAL issues working with Dave and his team.
1. On the lighting, there were several wires left exposed and on the side of the house the new wiring system was not even tacked appropriately to my house. I was stretched out across my WATER FAUCET (this is a live electrical wire) and the wire was stretched so tight that it was up off the ground. Then it was just laying on the ground with no attempt to cover it. Dave (the owner) claimed that they did not do any of this.
2. Two of my lights were broken as they were shoved into the ground. We discovered this as we were going back through and fixing all of their errors. Dave (once again) claimed that they did not do this. I asked him if not them, then who did? He said he didn't know.
3. One of my other lights is already not working. We are going to have to replace it and it has only been there for about a month. This is the second light that has stopped working so far.
4. The lights in the back were not tightened down properly so that the would continue to shine on the same area. The heads were so loose that they just flopped all over the place. We had to tighten that ourselves.
5. They left a big pile of extension cords all in the middle of the backyard. They could even be bothered to tuck them away anywhere.
6. Three large bags of our expensive mulch went missing from our backyard. I don't think they took them purposefully, I think they just thought they were theirs. They should have been paying attention to what was theirs and what was ours.
7. One of the lights in the front was placed right in the middle of a bunch of large plants. Essentially, this means it shines nowhere and we are going to have to move it.
8. They addressed some issues with my front porch but after a second opinion we found out they used the wrong kind of filler. We are having it redone.
9. Dave and his team CONTINUALLY made decisions to change things without notifying me first. Then Dave got very defensive when I was upset about it. He would get almost annoyed/angry with me that I was irritated. He kept telling me how hard he was working to make me happy. Apparently, I was just supposed to be happy with whatever they did.
10. The fountain in the water feature they put in my backyard was not installed and set correctly and it keeps falling over. We are going to just purchase an entirely new and larger fountain and set it in better ourselves.
11. I asked him to tack rope lighting to a large tree in my backyard and they simply bought a couple rope lights and strung them around the tree sloppily and they completely slid down. We already addressed this and tacked them to the tree ourselves. Although I'm sure Dave charged me for them to do this.
******12. When the work was completed (according to them, I hadn't even seen it yet) Dave had the audacity to run my credit card without my knowledge or consent. I am pretty sure this is illegal. *******
13. I explained to Dave NUMEROUS times many of these issues but he mostly claimed that it wasn't them that did it. He never made it to my place when I was home to review his work with me because he was always too busy. He also just kept telling me he would get to my house eventually to fix these issues but it's been weeks and he has never made it. He keeps telling me he's too busy. I have finally asked him to not come back and we will fix everything ourselves.
He is VERY patronizing and argumentative over text/email/phone. He talks back to the customers. I've literally never seen anything like it from ANYONE I've ever worked with. If the customer is unhappy, and as long as it is within reason, the company should bend over backwards to make it better. I don't think asking him to replace broken lights, hide wires that can trip people, and fix electrical wiring problems near a water source is that unreasonable.
I asked for an itemized receipt and he has yet to produce anything. The only invoice he gave me simply stated what he charged and what I paid.
DO NOT EVER HIRE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND THE WORK IS MEDIOCRE AT BEST. THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE INVOICES AND IF THERE ARE ERRORS IN THEIR WORK PREPARE FOR THEM TO DENY THEM AND/OR TAKE WEEKS TO COME BACK AND FIX THEM. YOU WILL LIKELY WAIT FOREVER, FIX IT YOURSELF, OR HIRE SOMEONE ELSE. DAVE IS PATRONIZING TO HIS CUSTOMERS AND MAKES THEM FEEL LIKE THEY ARE BOTHERING HIM WHEN THEY ARE REPORTING PROBLEMS.
He is VERY, VERY, VERY difficult to work with as a person.

Dave is the best. You can't do better than these guys.

Overall OK. He did a few extra things without charging but then didn't complete the items on the original bid because he said he did things for free (which I DID NOT ASK HIM TO DO).

To make the most of your interaction with Platinum Outdoor you only have to do one thing: Tell them what you want done and they will do it. My interaction with them has been excellent. The first time I used them to have something done, we scheduled a time to meet at my house. Ever since then, I just give them a call and they go out and take care of it. No worries about having to be home or take time off of work.

Great job! The pavers are laid very level and at the correct slope to allow water to run off down our driveway and away from the house. We didn't know what type of stone we wanted under our tight budget and Dave chose beautiful pavers for us in a complementary tone to our house and fence. I was especially impressed with their interest in pleasing us as customers and ensuring we were completely satisfied. We've worked with contractors in the past that were much less easy to communicate with - Dave always made it clear that we were valued and that he and his team would ensure we were pleased in the end. I would recommend Platinum Outdoor Concepts to others.

Silver Lawn and Landscape did a great job on our backyard! They were willing to work with us to come up with a landscape and planting design that worked within our budget. We are very pleased and would recommend them.

David and his team increased my house s curb appeal by 100%. Before and after pictures say it all. The project was completed in record 2 days! David was very prompt in giving me an estimate for the project and he also worked hard to accommodate my budget. I will definitely use him in the future to improve my backyard landscaping. Very happy with his work.

I was eager to get the landscape done quickly. I sent an e-mail to Dave and he responded the same day. He and his partner came to my house the next day. They started the job that evening and finished everything the next day. Dave and his partner did a fantastic job!! I have received several compliments from my neighbors on how nice my yard looks. Dave and his partner are very hard workers and very eager to please. They have an excellent work ethic. Very friendly, nice guys. I will definitely be contacting them again for future landscaping needs, yard work.

The team was excellent. This is the true meaning of a company, that cares. They were wonderful. I am completely satisfied.
