Kitchen Remodel
Although the overall appearance of our Kitchen remodel is good, when you start looking at details there is much to be desired. Our remodel began the last week of July, 2023 and the last we saw of Ian or his crew was 12/23. (This remodel was supposed to last 4-5 weeks.) They left some of our kitchen cabinets unfinished and due to. Inadequate quality of workmanship we have cracking in the paint on our pre-existing cabinet doors. Ian talks a good game but when it comes to quality work, we have found him to be disappointing. I would love for him to make things right with us and be the company he claims to be.

Don't bother with this company. My experience was poor. I should have known from Day 1. Here is a list of issues that occurred just within the first and only 2 weeks before I fired Ian and his crew. First his math was off when he quoted my job. HIs numbers didn't add up. I showed him the math. He insisted I pay him 1/3 the cost of the total job before he even started. So I gave him $1500.00 on day 1. The same thing week two. He insisted on me paying him another $1500.00 which I was happy to do since the work had been started. His worker responsible for sanding my kitchen cabinets insisted on sanding them inside my kitchen even when I told him Ian promised me he would sand them outside on my driveway. Only 10 cabinets so taking them outside would be no big deal. They had to be taken down anyway to remove the 70 year old hardware that I was going to paint. Ian promised me he would sand them outside . Which did not happen. So at the end of the day there was a 1/8th inch of 70 year old disgusting toxic stain and poly everywhere. Sure the worker did an average job of vacuuming the floor but that was it. That worker did not return. Reviewing the sanding job it was obvious that the doors needed additional sanding since the plan was to oil them not paint, I asked that the boards be taken to Ians house for further sanding. Oiling requires a good sanding job. The doors were taken and returned to me with another less than adequate sanding, There were all sorts of squiggly lines and still places where the previous stain had not been removed and to make it worse, there was additional damage from the boards being transported front to back so the back hooks damaged the fronts. This is woodworking 101 and they still did not pass the muster. I eventually re-sanded all 10 of the boards and am in the process of refinishing them my self. It became very apparent that the boss assumes his crew knows what they are doing without knowing or caring what is actually happening on the job or at the job site. He has too many jobs going at the same time and the smaller jobs like mine are simply winged without any attention to detail. And little care. The final straw was the 2nd time the boards were returned to me after the 2rd attempt of off site sanding, 2 of the boards were not delivered and I was told they didn't know where they were! They were eventually returned to me but ultimately the workers couldn't be less reliable. This experience was far from what I had hoped for. Amateurs.

Ian and his team were great to work with, they were fair on prices and consistently good quality with their work. We are very happy with how our basement remodel project went. We had a few changes along the way and Ian was able to add them on an al a carte basis which was great for how we wanted to the space to turn out. Would hire them again for sure.

We are so happy these guys came and rescue our project that we thought would never happen. With the outrageous prices out there, their price was more realistic and reasonable. Their quality of work reflects professionalism. Very curious and polite. They come 8:30am and finish at 5:30 or 6pm. They care about their work and take pride in it. They clean the place before they leave. Though we know remodeling is messy, they are very thoughtful of how to leave their tools without causing accident. They do not smoke and very respectful of our property. I had to mentioned a couple of things that I needed to address and they politely understood and followed instructions. It was regarding garage code and knocking at 8am when they are early and not ringing the doorbell while my husband who works night shift at the hospital, need his rest. It is a small request that they did not have any problem at all. Highly recommend. You would love them once you meet them.

I had some contractors who disappeared on me and left my kitchen hanging for almost 2 months. Midwest PRO was recommended by my neighbor and they took over the project and found out a lot of things they did wrong. They did not charge me for fixing those issues as I made them aware of my financial situation. This guys went over and beyond in my kitchen looks amazing. Thank you Midwest Pro. I showed all my family members what you did and I can not wait to meet you guys next year for more projects.

I trusted this contractor to do his job and finish on the due date for the kitchen to be done and honor what he said just like I honored to pay him on time.

They did a small job for me 2 months ago. They painted 3 bedrooms and repaired some areas in the walls. It was done in a week. I hired them last year for my kitchen remodeling project. They did a great job. It did take a month longer than expected. All my friends loved my kitchen so I might have them do my bathroom next year. Good people and trustworthy.

My husband and I hired Midwest Pro cuz they were highly recommended by my neighbor who did their basement which we needed to do as well. They were good and very polite. They cleaned up everyday 20 mins before they packed up and leave. They were two week behind but part of that is our fault. We went for a 10-day vacation. They work slow I will tell you that but they did the work right which I prefer. Weâ ve had bad experience before - contractors not showing up or not finishing projects. They were here every day. Very reliable. We highly recommend them. Very nice company to work with.

They were way more reasonable than other contractors and have more professional approach. They are small company but they got the job done. We were 2 weeks behind but expect that from any construction or remodeling company. My dad used to be in construction and he said that is normal. A lot of unexpected things came up with our bathroom remodeling. My sub-floor was rotten and had to replace my subfloors. I do recommend them.
