They are the best. Mike came the day after I called and his crew came later that same day. They did the job in record time and performed the clean up perfectly. This company gets great reviews and they deserve them.

I have used Mike for years and I keep telling him he needs to raise his prices. He charges so little compared to others in the business that I have dealt with. We live in a big old house with big old trees and he is absolutely the best. He is hands down my favorite service provider that I use!

Overall experience was great. They arrived when they said they would. We had a little tree in the back yard not far from the Big Tree - two fences close to the tree. They worked very safe took the big tree down without hurting the other tree or fences. Raked and cleaned up afterwards, it looked like they were never there. Outstanding people to work with. They will go out of their way to make things right.

I got a quote from him after getting an estimate from 2 other companies that were double the price. I felt a little unsure because the price was low but everything worked out great. They showed up on time and were done in a reasonable amount of time. Seeing the guys swinging through the trees with chainsaws made me glad I didn't try to do it myself. The tree looks fine and we've had no trouble since.

I will never use any other tree service, and I can't recommend any other service higher than this man and his crew. He came out several weeks ago and gave me an estimate that I thought was totally reasonable, but after seeing what these guys had to go through yesterday, I truly don't believe the man charges enough! They came right at 8am yesterday, and Mike was around for the first half hour, explaining to the guys exactly what they were supposed to do. He brought 3 men who worked non stop from 8am until 5pm and they brought a bucket truck and chipper, and meticulously cleaned every trace of the huge mess made in this job. I was petrified one of these men would get hurt or fall since one of the worst jobs was trimming up an enormously large honey locust in the front yard. (Mike told me his Mom doesn't like his chosen profession!) Anyway, when he worked up his estimate, I could tell the man knows everything about trees and truly cares about them. He is a certified arborist, and I've never dealt with anyone who seemed so genuinely caring about trees and keeping your own personal property safe while doing incredibly dangerous work. I was in awe watching his 3-man team work and clean up everything so professionally. This is the epitome of excellent service! (How I wish I could say the same for every contractor that helps us keep this old home updated!)

I got three estimates--two from companies with "Arbor" in their name. One salesman was cocky and overbearing, and the other too smooth. The cocky one wanted $100 more than what I paid and 2.5 times as much as was quoted by Franzwa for stump removal. The other salesman drove a nice SUV (which told me a lot of the cost was in his commission). His price initially started off slightly less than Franzwa's bid, but when I told him I was ready to sign his contract, he called the boss to inquire about scheduling, and all of a sudden, the price was $95 higher to "cable" the tree to keep it from splitting in the meantime. Franzwa's owner gave me the bid and even offered to loan me the wratcheting strap to hold the tree together until he could remove it. He told me I could buy 3 straps at Home Depot for $15, which I did, and that held it together until a couple of days later when he removed it. His two workers worked efficiently and seemed to know what they were doing. The salvageable pieces they kept for firewood and the small limbs and debris they shreded for mulch. I elected not to pay $45 for stump grinding, but that seemed like a reasonable price.

Within days of calling Franzwa, Mike paid a visit to our house to examine the scope of work. We explained to him that our large spruce in the front yard was blocking traffic and needed to be trimmed back. He made the recommendation to trim the lower half of the spruce and remove 4-5 of the lower limbs. Result: Traffic can now see around the tree and the tree has a much cleaner look. We also have two upright junipers that we formerly trimmed ourselves, but didn't do a good job and we couldn't reach the very top of the junipers as well. Mike and his crew timmed and shaped both junipers very well. We had a row of 8-9 evergreen shrubs across the front of our house, that we horribly overgrown. We don't think any of the previous owners of our home ever thought to trim them. They were out of control and were at the end of their lives. Mike removed all of them and grinded the stumps. He even threw in the grinding of a stump in our front yard from a tree that was cut down years ago. That previous weekend we cut down several bushes in our backyard that resulted in a very large pile of brush. Mike removed the brush and debris for only an additional $50. Overall Mike was very professional, he was on schedule and they cleaned up very well after themselves. We were not home while the work was done - but when we arrived home, we could hardley tell that anyone had been there. Excpet for the fact that our tree looked better and those aweful shrubs were history!

Mike and his crew did a wonderful job. What we really liked is that Mike is a certified Arborist and really knows what he is doing. When he gives you the estimate, he gives a detailed analysis of what he will do--and this is an education in itself. When the actual day comes, Mike is there doing the work--unlike other tree companies that suddenly send out someone else. Mike is quick to discuss what he is doing and why--we know a little about tree pruning--and Mike is very careful to take care of the trees. He was quick to point out that he doesn't use cleats on trees (I was so glad to hear this) like other tree companies, that can puncture and wound the tree bark. In spite of the hot (90+) degree weather, Mike and his crew did the work, cleaned up the area and left everything in good shape. Our trees and property look so much better now. His price is comparable to other companies that we've priced in the past. We would highly recommend Mike Franzwa for any tree work. He really knows what he is doing.

Mike came out on time, explained exactly what he was going to do and gave me an estimate. He did the work shortly after, during the day. He cleaned everything up and you couldn't tell he had been there. Great communication and service!

Mike (owner/operator) was terrific. We met him at the house and walked through what we wanted done; his estimate was reasonable, and he really seemed to grasp what we wanted. We're pretty picky about our trees (pin oaks want to be egg-shaped, so we don't want all of the lower branched lopped off, etc.). He called a couple days before to schedule, and was on time the day it was set for. He's a certified arborist and it showed. He was very particular about how the cuts were made and where. He also asked us as he was trimming whether he had taken enough off in certain locations, etc. His assistant kept the yard neat,and you can't even tell on the street where they had run the chipper/shredder.

I contacted Franzwa Tree Service for an estimate of the cost to perform the above service. I also contacted another service I used before. I called on Thursday to ask for the estimate. I was told that it would be the next week but on Saturday morning, I received a call from Mike. He wanted to come out that day but the weather was too threatening. He said he would come on Monday. He did and left his estimate. We arranged for the work to be done later in the week but the next morning, he called to let me know that he was able to get to it immediately. By the time I got home, the work was done and it looked great.

I first met Mike 5 years ago, he trimmed my 90+ year old oak trees and some maples, his bid was extremely reasonable and his work was exceptional. My neighbors could not believe how reasonable his bid was after they saw what a great job he did! They all use him now! I live in brookside with very old trees and he is wonderful!
