I had "rebooted" the Uverse Gateway (the modem) that brings the TV signal into my home. I also had rebooted the DVR as AT&T always suggests for any problem. Neither had fixed my problem. Fairway also suggested I reboot my HDTV (Pioneer). I never knew a TV needed to be booted or rebooted. The reboot is accomplished by unplugging the TV and then plugging it back in again. BINGO! Fairway saved me $175 that another TV repair company said it would cost to pickup the TV for diagnosis in their shop; $75 of which would apply to repairs, I think you can surmise that Fairway is competent and willing to assist a customer without any reimbursement. The next time I need a TV repaired, you know who I'll call.
Description of Work: Fairway explained the hourly rate for a home service call and further explained that the HDTV might have to be brought back to the shop. He said a service call could be done in about two days. I explained that the TV would not display video either from the DVR, settop box, or a Blu Ray player. Each add on component was sending video on a separate HDMI cable. He asked for make and model of the TV and suggested 3 things I could do before scheduling a service call. I had already tried two of the suggestions, but not the third. I agreed to try the remaining item and then call and schedule a home service call, if necessary.

They were professional and punctual. They took a long time for them to make the decision. But overall, I was satisfied with their service.
Description of Work: They came and took my TV as it was not working. As it was under warranty, they gave me money to buy a new TV as it could not be repaired.

On 1 st visit he helped set up digital TV system, and explained. We are not able to veiw digitalTV. So we asked to come again. He explained and make sure all TVs are working OK.

Great communication. Office went out of their way to reach me at the multiple contact numbers I provided. Repair experience was outstanding! Allen from Fairway is an expert on Sony large TV service, he found and fixed the problem and aligned the TV after the repair so that the picture is better than new. If you have a big Sony TV that needs fixing, ask for Allen! Prices Fairway charged for service call ($80), repair parts ($175) and repair labor ($150 for 3 hours in home) seemed good, but I have no basis for comparison.

THEIR INABILITY TO GET THE REMOTE TO ACT UP IS UNDERSTANDABLE, BUT THEIR INABILITY TO DO WHAT I ASKED (REPLACE A $17.00 PART AS A TROUBLESHOOTING TECHNIQUE) IS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE. AFTER FAIRWAY FINISHED I WAS OUT $200.00 AND STILL HAD A NON-WORKING TV. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE ON ALL LEVELS.
Description of Work: THE REMOTE ON MY TV WAS CEASING TO FUNCTION, INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER DISCUSSING THE PROBLEM WITH MY TELEVISION WITH THE MANUFACTURER, THEY RECOMMENDED I CALL ONE OF THEIR SERVICE CENTERS (FAIRWAY) AND HAVE THEM CHECK OUT THE SET, WITH THE PROBABLE OPTION OF REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL SENSOR. (A $17.00 PART) THAT WAS IN APRIL 2005. FAIRWAY CAME OUT, SAID THEY SAW NO PROBLEM, AND ASKED ME TO KEEP A LOG OF THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLACE THE SENSOR ON SITE AND WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE SET IN. AFTER SIX WEEKS OF KEEPING THE LOG, I HAD THEM COME AND GET THE SET. THEY HAD IT FOR THREE WEEKS, AND FINALLY RETURNED IT - TELLING ME THAT THEY COULD NOT GET IT TO ACT UP. THE TOTAL COST WAS $200.00, AND NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE. 24 HOURS LATER THE REMOTE BEGAN ACTING UP AGAIN. I CALLED ANOTHER SERVICE CENTER. THEY ORDERED THE PART AND REPLACED IT AS I HAD REQUESTED FAIRWAY TO DO. THE SET IS NOW FINE.

COULD NOT FIX IN HOME AND HAD TO TAKE TO SHOP TO AVOID A $75 DELIVERY FEE. TV WORKED FOR 2 HOURS AND LINER RETURNED. THEY PICKED IT UP OVER A WEEK AGO TO FIX AGAIN, AND I HAVE NOT GOTTEN IT BACK. THEY SAY THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLE FIXING IT. I WOULD ONLY GO TO THEM AGAIN BECAUSE THEY ARE THE AUTHORIZED REPAIR COMPANY.
