Bank Midwest lacks reliability, honesty and professionalism when working with customer's savings. They allowed me to purchase IRA CD's for my elderly mother, for whom I have a power of attorney. Repeatedly, they misplaced the paperwork showing me as a Power of Attorney even though the account was named "Jane Doe" with "John Doe" as power of attorney. They refused to give account balances at year end which are needed for tax purposes. They made closing, or transferring, the CD a miserable and incredibly time consuming process. Their personnel have admitted they have a poor process for maintaining their paperwork but the problems have not been corrected in years. I believe they purposely put innumerable obstacles, including the convenient loss of paperwork, to prevent their clients from transferring money. The same exact problem occurred when my wife set up an account for her grandmother. Customers of a bank have an expectation of safety of their money, professionalism of their staff and systems in place to protect access to funds. Bank Midwest failed to demonstrate any of those qualities.
