Description of Work: Bank Midwest is a bank and has been my bank for around 20 years. My daughters have used other banks only to get dinged for service charges. Bank Midwest never charges them service charges.

Bank Midwest lacks reliability, honesty and professionalism when working with customer's savings. They allowed me to purchase IRA CD's for my elderly mother, for whom I have a power of attorney. Repeatedly, they misplaced the paperwork showing me as a Power of Attorney even though the account was named "Jane Doe" with "John Doe" as power of attorney. They refused to give account balances at year end which are needed for tax purposes. They made closing, or transferring, the CD a miserable and incredibly time consuming process. Their personnel have admitted they have a poor process for maintaining their paperwork but the problems have not been corrected in years. I believe they purposely put innumerable obstacles, including the convenient loss of paperwork, to prevent their clients from transferring money. The same exact problem occurred when my wife set up an account for her grandmother. Customers of a bank have an expectation of safety of their money, professionalism of their staff and systems in place to protect access to funds. Bank Midwest failed to demonstrate any of those qualities.
Description of Work: Sold Certificates of Deposit (CD)s for IRA's.

Amy Prater with Bank Midwest made our closing and loan experience outstanding. The first time I met with her to get pre-approved she gave me an estimate worksheet to take home to my wife so that she could review the estimates. This allowed us to make the best decision. Amy helped us understand the different products we qualified for, instead of trying to get us into a product that would make her the most money and leave us with a high risk loan. We gave her our budget and she helped to plug in the numbers and keep us exactly where we needed to be. The awards or her wall say it all. If you want to the best, call Amy Prater.
Description of Work: Amy Prater with Bank Midwest served as our loan originater for our home loan.
